Fascinating tale of the first all women relay expedition to the North Pole. Written in journal form by one of the two leaders. Amazing journey! Was quite intrigued by the literal ebb and flow of the water and ice and the impact on the terrain. What one might believe to be a solid mass of floating ice is far from that.

We met Matty in Iqaluit where she was our guide during our brief visit. This wonderful book about a trip she led to the North Pole confirmed my decision to never ever hike/ski/venture to the North Pole. But well written and a very interesting read.

I really enjoyed reading "On Thin Ice" By Matty McNair. The book was very fascinating and very interesting to read. I read the book when I was living in Kananaskis, Alberta. I now own book.

I enjoyed reading about Matty's leadership choices in the austere environment of the arctic - she had quite the challenge in leading groups of inexperienced women to the north pole.

Read this on an Arctic Cruise with Viking. Glad to read honesty from a strong woman who works hard to make the path lighter for those who come next. Bravo and thank you.

A factual and descriptive account of a guided women's expedition to the North Pole written by the guide of the expedition. Sounds like it was an epic journey!
