My story wants to go back to December of the 1980’s and swallow my pride. I want to realize the truth, and wishing for my freedom and all men freedom. Casted from society, in the back of my mind I wanted to love, I wanted to dream. And I believe I am sorry for the pains that were injured. If I could go back, I will be at and try making life alright, and change with the songs Proverbs.
In Evolution Invisible Ghost, Leonard Jones weaves a powerful tale of human suffering that few of us have had experience with, whether through our own experience or by witnessing another's suffering. This suffering is not set in a far away locale, in some third world country where we have come to expect such tales, but in America's own, very recent past. Most individuals believe the Civil War ended slavery and the later Civil Rights Movement ended inequality; however, Jones tells a tale of racial persecution in 1980s era New York that while not as a horrific of some of the previous eras, certainly shows that the suffering caused by racism can still be found. Using first person narration, Jones manages to draw readers into this world in a way that makes the issues seem more immediate, more intimate. Readers cannot look-away or ignore the violence and trauma that is played out before them. Additionally, they also come to know the main character on a deeper level, hence, they are more willing to invest their emotions and time into the story. Such techniques allow the reader to grasp the situation and have the all important message became part of their conscience. Books often play a role in effecting change in society. Leonard Jones' Evolution Invisible Ghost is certainly a powerful piece of prose that will work its way into the soul of the reader and may well have them working to change injustices they see around them.
The book, "Evolution invisible Ghost," was about a true story of horrific violence in the 1980's in New York City when Koch was the mayor of New York before David Dinkins. The city became a violent place, almost a place where David Berkowitz had lust, a city where Nick Pagan made his "Fatal Vows," a city if not stop kept killing their Martin Trayvon's. It was a city trying to depise its leaders, John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., and President Reagan, a truth unspoken. New York City was becoming a sleeper's cell fill with terrorist groups and hate groups. What was happening in Israel would happen somewhere in Manhattan. Who knew the exact location? It was in the center of the "foci," the center of the volcanic violence.
