Had a better time with this one than the first one - I enjoyed the resolution to the setup in vol. 1 more than I enjoyed the setups themselves, I was more impressed with the plots, and there was a lot less recap. Feels like we're finally chugging towards something really good here.
Weisman still feels shackled by the medium, like he's straining to put all these ideas in one place. It's his writing style clashing with the limitations of the medium - like he wants to be working on a tv show or a prose novel but is forced to work on a comic, and hasn't quite accepted that. This is compounded by some odd choices for panel use/space use.
The Goliath trial is fun (even if I can easily see ways it could have been ever so slightly improved), the resolution to the Dracon arc is solid, and every single moment with Demons is phenomenal. 9/10 - it's a fun comic - I'm making it sound worse than it is by pointing out its limitations. A-.

What stood out to me was how much more vulnerable everything feels without Goliath around. I liked seeing Brooklyn and the rest of the Clan having to deal with threats on their own, especially with Demona returning and going after the keys to power. There’s a nice sense of tension throughout because it feels like one wrong move could make everything much worse.
