Sous la forme d'histoires en BD mettant en scène les aventures de plusieurs familles d'animaux, entrecoupées par des pages pédagogiques illustrées par Giovanni Rigano, « Au chant des grenouilles » s'annonce comme une série résolument ludique, écologique et didactique.

About the author

Born on the 19th January 1969 in Genoa. After reading Architecture at University she began working as commercial artist and as illustrator. In 1996 she started a collaboration with the Walt Disney Company: she took part to several creative projects as illustrator drawer and character designer. Together with Alessandro Barbucci in 1997 she gave life to the new magazine W.I.T.C.H. In fact they took part to the project’s editing they created the characters, the background, the graphic design and the color of a project that, since April 2001, has been having a huge success all over the world.

Since 1997 they have been working on the science-fiction saga Sky Doll published in France by Soleil and in USA (Heavy Metal and Marvel), and in over 18 countries in all. Acclaimed by the public and the critics in the recent years it has been awarded many times as best series of the year best color and design throughout Europe.

Eventually they are the graphic editors of the new series Monster Allergy a comics for kids published in 2003 by Soleil in France, in Germany by Egmont, and in 2004 in the rest of the world as a monthly magazine for the Walt Disney Company. Since January 2006 the series has been brought to TV as a cartoon produced by Rainbow Futurikom and Disney Channel. Purchased in 2005 by Warner Bros for the USA it is aired on Cartoon Network e M6.

Currently Barbara Canepa is working on Sky Doll 4 on the gothic series End which will be realized in collaboration with an Italian Disney artist Anna Merli. End is part of a new Soleil’s collection: Metamorphose, which she directs.

Lastly in 2007 she created a new publishing label: Venusdea. It’s a label independent of Soleil which starting in 2009 will feature international artists beyond the comics’ world. It will be edited all over the world in two languages and will contain brand new projects closer to the field of art than to comics.

Un beau début pour cette série, j'ai énormément apprécié les sujets abordés, tels que l'acceptation de nos différences, la honte d'avoir peur, ainsi que l'amitié qui nous lie sans se soucier de nos apparences.

Dans ce premier tome, on est juste introduits au différents personnage, et je crois que c'est à partir du deuxième que les aventures commencent.

Les illustrations sont magnifiques, les couleurs, très bien choisies, m'ont directement plongé dans l'univers de cette BD.

Los personajes son muy cuquis y el dibujo me ha parecido muy bonito en la primera parte. En la segunda parte, cambian de dibujante, cosa que no me gusta, y ya es otro estilo no tan bonito.

Une BD hyper mignonne : l'univers est aussi charmant que ses personnages. J'adore les pages encyclopédiques sur la nature, elles apprennent plein de choses sans nécessairement sortir de l'histoire ou couper une scène. Petit bémol en revanche sur la progression de l'histoire : le début et la fin n'ont pas grand chose en commun je trouve, je ne m'attendais pas vraiment à cette direction là.

THAT WAS SO CUTE. I love the design and the little recipe and info pages that’s absolutely adorable. All the characters are so well drawn and each have such a cute and endearing personality and my fav is Shadow!!! I’m so excited to read the next one. But I must insist this was the coziest, most adorable and pretty BD I have found in a long while.

Peut etre qu'en tant qu'introduction quand plusieurs voire tous les tomes seront sortis ce tome fera sens et sera sympa à (re)lire, mais en tant que livre à part entière c'est tres tres faible, le scénario est inexistant, décousu et mal amené et c'est meme pas un bon tome introductif, je trouve personnellement que l'ambiance et les relations entre les personnages sont mal travaillées, rien n'est expliqué, ils ont un club du samedi mais la seule mention est dans le résumé, bref j'ai rien ressenti, malgré de beaux dessins

Il primo volume di una saga in cui protagonisti sono animali antropomorfi che vivono in un bosco dal sapore magico. Le loro scoperte a tema naturalistico sono evidenziate da vere e proprie pagine di una enciclopedia disegnate da Giovanni Rigano.
La storia, al momento articolata in sei volumi, è di Barbara Canepa e Anais Halard.
A livello grafico niente di stonato, forse la storia è poco densa e quasi abbozzata: troppi personaggi, troppe distrazioni. Il risultato però è intrigante e meraviglioso da osservare.

This was not a cover-buy but an illustrations-buy and I have no regrets. The illustrations inside this book are so whimsical, the characters so lovable and the storyline is perfect for a cosy little evening read.

une BD jeunesse toute douce parfaite pour l'automne
j'ai trouvé les dessins magnifiques et les pages encyclopédiques sont fort appréciables. en revanche, l'histoire ne m'a pour l'instant pas convaincue, j'ai l'impression qu'elle ne menait pas vers grand chose. comme il s'agit d'un tome 1, à voir si ça s'arrange par la suite (peut-être qu'il s'agissait davantage d'un tome introductif ?)

Dessins, ambiance visuelle, couleurs et lumières époustouflants. Personnages mignons comme c'est pas possible - du vrai "cute overload"!
Mais je n'ai du tout accroché au récit. Dommage... ça vaut le coup d'oeil pour le reste...
Bien aimé les fiches illustrées style naturalisme, mais mes enfants ne s'y intéressaient pas et ne m'ont pas permis de les lire...

Mignonne petite BD. Si les dessins sont absolument magnifique et un vrai plaisir à étudier, l’histoire me chagrine un peu tant il ne se passe pas grand chose. Le début et la fin ne vont pas vraiment ensemble, je m’attendais pas à ce que le récit prenne cette direction. J’ai beaucoup aimer les petits extraits de grimoire, avec les explications. Vu que c’est très (trop) court, je vais attendre un tome ou deux avant de plus avant de voir si je poursuis l’aventure.
