Pros: I thought the overall story was good, and the paranormal elements were interesting.

Cons: I didn't find the villain's motivation very believable, and there were some pacing issues that made the book drag in some spots.

I was thoroughly intrigued by this story. Greg life falsely accused of killing a gypsy girl is doomed to live as a gargoyle for 150 years.until he meets Tara who can possibly help break the curse put on him by her ancestor. It would be interesting to learn more about Thomas and Jeffrey who were cursed along with him.

Strong woman leading character!!!
I always love a story that allows a woman to shine. Especially if done without undermining anyone else. Loved the level of balance between thrills and calms.

Set in Stone is a great start to this series. Gypsy magic and curses have always intrigued me so I was definitely anxious to read about it, and it did not disappoint in the least. Gregore, and his two best friends, were wrongfully cursed for the death of his beloved Zola by her crazy grandmother. After a century and a half of searching for any connection to the gypsy and a way to break his curse, it is mercilessly torn from him. And the only way he can get it back is with the help of the beautiful Detective O'Reily, which coincidentally is also the target of the crazy wizard who stole the spell book in the first place. Gregore carries the guilt of not only of his curse, but his two best friends, who just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Tara is kind of in a similar of state of mind, she has carried around her own guilt about an incident in her past as well. Since fate has brought them together, they both work on their issues, even though trust doesn't come easily to either of them. As time runs out, they find that trust and fall for one another, but do they make it in time?
I really enjoyed this book, it was an amazing story about forgiveness and righting wrongs as well as a fast paced thriller with action and mystery. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that we didn't find out about the crazy wizard's reason for his vendetta until the end, so it kind of had me wondering the whole time. But I guess that is the whole point to the crazy character, keep me guessing the whole time, lol.
Great read and I am definitely looking forward to Thomas and Jeffery.

Really awesome paranormal story from Aurrora St James! Five Star!!

The journey toward a fulfilled life for each character is as long and dangerous as possible. Tara and Gregore must learn to trust each other and not fear the metamorphosis the journey requires.

Tara has built an indestructible wall against her belief in the paranormal in general, and her abilities In particular, even though her family has a long history of 'powerful women.'

Gregore has been cursed into living life as a stone gargoyle by day, a winged creature at dusk, and a lonely man by night. For 150 years. For a crime he didn't commit.

He needs Tara's ability, and her family heirloom, to break the curse before his stone life becomes permanent - within mere days. She needs his trust to break her fear of her giftings. But neither are ready to trust in themselves until Tara's beloved Aunt Maddie's life is in danger.

If they can succeed in saving Aunt Maddy and Gregore's life against a highly determined and powerful foe, the ultimate reward is a love and a life neither imagined possible.

First book in a trilogy I can not wait to finish, Gregore and Tara are made for each other! Love the names, perfect fit for such a imaginative story. I love gypsies & gargoyles, plus who doesn't love a curse thrown in the mix lol

I can honestly say it's been a busy week for me trying to get ready for a friends wedding I couldn't put it down! I kept sneaking peaks when I could & thank god for my water resistant s5, I took it in the bath with me! That's how much I wanted to finish up this story! A great blend of action, danger & romance. It was refreshing to see a book that didn't focus so much on the romance the opportunities of the other two were lost!

The humor in this had me grinning at random times, I was sad when it ended I now have to wait til the next one which I will get getting on release day I must have the rest of the story!

A wonderful story! It was exciting right from the start and never stopped! The use of the gypsy magic was very interesting. Tara was a great, strong character, and Gregore was a great match for her. I really liked the idea of him being a gargoyle during the day. It was a new kind of paranormal for me, and I loved it! The other characters were great as well! Jeffrey and Thomas seem like a lot of fun! It was very easy to envision the group of three friends joking around with each other. I also liked how each one had a different curse, and each curse was something I haven't read in a ton of other books. Maddy was so funny, and very easy to envision too. Overall, Set In Stone was awesome! It was different, and I can't wait to read more of these characters!
