System Initiating…
Valhalla Protocol Activated…
Welcome, Thaddeus Hellion, The Royal Grand High Imperial Architects of the System ‘welcomes’ Earth into the Universal Collective. Apparently, the most populace sentient species on this world are humans—Wow, that’s pathetic—anyway, it should be fun to watch the lot of you die.

That wasn’t good.

In fact, Thaddeus would go so far as to say it was terrible, since his weekly manicure appointment was more than likely canceled. Given the state of his finances, though, it may be a blessing in disguise. Just how did he go from having a billion dollars to one hundred credits? Was the exchange rate that awful, or did the System not care about his wealth?

Sadly, that wasn’t the end of his woes. Nope, his house, his fiancé, and his former mentor were teleported across town, leaving him to fend for himself. Now, he’ll have to trek through Seattle’s monster-infested streets without dying. Given his meager skills, inability to fight, and lack of will to do so, that’s a hard ask.

Follow Thaddeus as he tries to weave through the city to reach the relative safety of the Lewis H. Carroll Theater. Who knows? Maybe once he’s there he’ll find someone to fix his mutilated cuticles.

About the author

Ken Lange

Ken Lange is a current resident of the 'Big Easy', along with his partner and evil yet loving cats. Any delay, typo or missed edit can and will be blamed on the latter's interference.

He arrived at this career a little later in life and his work reflects it. Most of his characters won't be in their twenties and they aren't always warm and fuzzy. He is of the opinion, that middle aged adults are woefully underrepresented in fiction and has made it his mission to plug that gap.

Translation, he's middle aged and crotchety.
