As August winds down, George Sheth and Murphy Baird are ready to put months of murder mysteries behind them. They hope for calmer days as they move in together. But it’s all for nought when his pug, Bumble, stumbles on the body of a new bride in the middle of the lane.
It’s clear Bumble didn’t kill anyone, but someone did—and they may have set their sights on George.
With a wedding party full of potential suspects, they find themselves caught between the police and angry family members. Can they make it safely through the end of summer alive?
Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress. She prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters. An autistic and occasional hermit, her life wouldn’t be complete without her husband and her massive collection of books and video games.
Honey Moon Murder is the third and final book in this series. I really enjoyed this cozy mystery series with a m/m couple and one of the main character is autistic. There is a theme of honey, bees and mead, which is nicely done. This book was fun to read and I liked seeing George and Murphy solve another mystery, although my favorite parts were actually the non-mystery scenes reading about these two, the dogs and side characters.
George's pug stumbles upon a dead body when the two are on their way home and they get involved in another mystery. In my opinion the mysteries aren't the strongest point of these books, but I do enjoy seeing it all play out even if I am not as invested in the mystery. There are 3 possible suspects and they all seem to have a motive, but I managed to guess the murderer correctly. It made sense how George and Murphy got involved in the mystery, but I did think it strange some of the suspects sought them out. It all got wrapped up well.
I like reading about George and Murphy. Both are interesting characters and I like seeing them together. George is autistic and I felt this was written very well and he was quite the relatable character. I like reading about autistic characters as I am autistic myself. I was at times envious how well George knew what he needed and dealt with being autistic, as I am not there yet, but it also was inspiring. Murphy is a great character too and I liked reading about the mead he made. I like the two of them together and there are some sweet scenes between them. I liked the ending and where it leaves these two.
To summarize: I enjoyed this cozy mystery series with a m/m couple as main characters. The mystery wasn't my favorite part of these books, but I still enjoyed seeing the mystery play out in this one even if I wasn't as invested in it. There aren't as many suspects and all have a possible motive, but I was able to guess the murderer. The characters and their romance is my favorite part of this series. I really like reading about both George and Murphy. George is autistic and I thought that part was very well written. I like the two of them together and there are some sweet scenes. There are some cute dogs and fun side characters as well. All in all I enjoyed this series and will be checking out more books by this author.

In this third Honey Bear Cosy Mystery, just as George Sheth and Murphy Baird are about to live together, Bumble, George’s old pug dog, stumbles upon a murdered woman. They can’t believe it, three murders in three months in their little old village!
This is a fun story. Yes, there is a murder, but there’s nothing gory about it, and the characters are sensational. I believe the characters make this story so entertaining and enjoyable. Firstly, as in the previous books, the usual local village people are included, and now I feel like they are my friends. 😀 Lead characters, Murphy and George and their beautiful romance, are the focus of the story… oops, you can’t forget the gorgeous Bumble, but the secondary characters are vital as well.
The village and its people are so endearingly described that I want to experience it for myself; knowing how quaint many of the towns are in real life, I know it would be wonderful to visit. That’s the key to these great stories by this author; although the murderer might not be hard to work out, the whole package deal, as I’ve said—the village and its people, their mannerisms and routines, the settings, great sense of humour and the general sense of belonging—creates an amazing story where you can relax and simply empty your mind of everything else.

Honey Moon Murder by Daliah Donovan is book 3 in the Honey Bear Cosy Murders series. I would definitely recommend reading them in order for character context and also because they're really enjoyable.
We're back with George Sheth and Murphy Baird. This time we watch as they move in together and get involved in another murder investigation in their normally sleepy town.
On a walk home from George's cousin's house, his pug Bumble discovers a dead body on the road. When the police show up he's worried they may point the finger at him and his dog. Turns out the victim is a newlywed staying in town. As much as George would love to be left out of any of the drama, he and Murphy are right in the middle of it.
There are several twists and turns in this story that take you for a joyride. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship move forward and more of the best friend pups playing and cuddling. My favorite fictional pug, Bumble, is a hero in this story. He runs on his little legs to get Murphy from the bar to save George from the crazed killer.
Overall, it's just a quick cozy murder mystery that I found hard to put down. I really enjoy this world and hope to see more of them in the future.

How is it that George and Bumble stumble upon a dead body so quickly? Who is it, and where? Who thinks they'll be blamed? Who are Cara, Valerie, Jimmy, and Polly? Why do one or two keep showing up at someone's house? Why does Polly show up at 5 am? When George and Murphy started messaging Elwin, I had to laugh at Murphy's comment about the picture Elwin was sent. I love how Murchpy is supportive of George's neurodiversity and sensory needs. You can feel the love between them. What happens when first Jimmy and second Bumble show up at the tavern? Cara, Jimmy, and Polly are all off their rockers! What happens to George that scares everyone? I like George's mum. "A wooly snake gone awry" was my favorite quote in the book. I love George and Murphy. Read to see why!
The third in the Honey Bear Cosy Mysteries sees George and Murphy accidentally land right I the middle of a murder investigation...again! This time it's when George discovers the body of a very recently deceased newlywed. Despite their best efforts to stay out of the investigation, this delightful couple - they really are relationship goals - well, they just can't help themselves from becoming embroiled.
This is a fun, quick cosy read. I love the relationship between the MCs: total sweetness and humour. 4*
3.5/4* George and Murphy are more in tune, nearly living together but murder does darken their door again. The almost forced accusations against George took a bit of belief, but I did feel he handled things better. The bees are still his focus but he relies on Murphy a lot now. The murdered woman and her argumentative family all seem to be potential culprits, but it’s always the quiet ones!
These guys have had the worst luck. Trouble seems to find them no matter where they go. Still loving the relationship they have and the way they seem to get each other. This one was a really hard one for sweet George. These are great books when you need a sweet little mystery that is a quick read.
I love a good cozy mystery and murder seems to follow George around. I like the secondary characters here and how Murphy seems to know just what George needs. My only wish is that these stories were longer as they seem to finish too soon.
I hate that this set of books was just a trilogy. I would have liked to read more of the life of George and Murphy. Mystery was good and I enjoyed the characters. Recommend reading.
This is the third book in this series. George and Murphy have been involved in two murders this summer. They are hoping August will go by without one. No such luck. Bumble, George’s pug finds a woman when they are on their way home. Bumble didn’t kill anyone but that doesn’t mean some don’t think George is involved somehow. The wedding party is full of suspects. George and Murphy are trying to stay out of the investigation but the those involved won’t leave them alone. When they can’t stay out of it they might as well join the investigation. You won’t believe he the killer is or why they did it. Will George be able to survive the summer or will get caught by the killer? I love this series. George, Murphy, and the whole gang are wonderful characters. Every one in town is a gossip. All you have to do is ask around town if you want to know something. Dahlia does a wonderful job of writing these small town cosy mystery series. I love all the different series. Fantastic job Dahlia. I can’t wait for her next book.
