I won this through the goodreads giveaway. It was very helpful indeed! There are so many transformation stories that are inspiring. She guides us through the process of getting healthy and fit with helpful tips. She explains how and why, all while motivating you to be a better you. She also goes through all of the excuses people use to not work out and eat healthy and gives them tips on how to get around that. The pictures are of the exersizes are extremely helpful. She explains what is in our food, what to eat and not to eat, foods that speed up our metabolism, when to eat. She gives us a list of food we should have in our pantry so when we go shopping we know exactly what we need. She explains ways we can be more active with everything we do. All in all the is a wonderful guide, that if you follow i believe you will get amazing results. I have read it through first, have not applied any of the steps yet. I will update my review as soon as I do. I am confident that by the end of this journey I will feel good and look good. I do know one thing, I feel motivated and ready to go!!

As a forty something year old woman who has struggled with my weight on recent years this book is invaluable. Michelle Bridges is a tough talking fitness guru who uses tough love to influence her clients. Likewise, her book offers a no nonsense approach to losing the weight and keeping it off. Using this simple and non gimmicky approach to getting toned I feel you will be motivated to work hard and keep the pounds off. This book shows you cardio and strength training exercises to build muscle and burn fat. The exercises are shown with step by step pictures and instructions. In addition, there are also recipes and shopping lists. This book offers all the tools you need to fight against weight gain. I'm looking forward to trying the twelve week plan and becoming more fit. A must read for those who have struggled to keep weight off in the past. 4 stars!
There were some great points in the book about fitness and nutrition. There were also some that were outdated - fat is automatically stored as fat, for example. She actually contradicted herself on that one later. In fact, the book was full of contradictions. Another example is that she talks about stopping negative self-talk and not allowing negativity around you, but she also insults the reader.
The exercises are nice and the recipes look good. If you can get past her attitude, I can see this program really turning your health around. It's pretty simple - eat whole foods in portions that keep your calories low and exercise using both cardio and strength training.
first and foremost i would like to thank goodreads first reads and the author for the opportunity to win this book.while i am not finished with this book i am very pleased with the way this was presented to me and that i am hoping i am able to become healthy and energenic. i like the sections on do the math,your exersices,the 12-week new you routine and finally the chapter on cooking with the wonderful recipies,wich i have made a few of them already.i am looking foreward in the continue reading and learning everything i need to help myself. it also has on the back of the book a journal to help you succeed. It is a good book because it has pictures of different exercises and it also incorporate healthy eating. However, there are some parts that I disagree with this book because I know that Yoga and meditation is very important and it DOES contribute to weight loss.
