Sophie. Jake and I were meant to be endgame. Growing old together and watching our kids grow up. But I ruined it all after reacting on nothing but a hunch. Now? My brother and best friend were forcing me to go home for the holidays, and I had to come face to face with my childhood sweetheart who's heart I had broken eleven years ago. Would he still hate me? Would he be married with kids and a dog? Or could we actually have another chance at love?
Max. I just wanted my fun loving sister back. After Darcy broke her heart she had shut herself away, hiding from everyone, and I missed her way more than she knew. Would I finally be able to tell her my dirty secret? Or would I lose her forever?
Darcy. Some would say I had everything. Fame, fortune and the pick of any woman I wanted. But, I craved only one and she hated me. And it was all my own doing. Now? I was on a mission to win her back, no matter the consequences.
Jake. I had been broken when Sophie vanished with no explanation. It had taken me a long time to put myself back together. But she was still entwined into my heart and soul. Now, she was coming home for Christmas and I wanted answers. And boy was I finally going to get them.
This Christmas was about to change their lives forever, turning it upside down in spectacular fashion. A season full of second chances, secrets aplenty, new awakenings, and lots of spicy shenanigans, surrounded by festive lights and snow. Join Sophie, Jake, Max and Darcy to find out who will get their Happy Ever After in Falling All Over Again.
This book was so much more than I expected it to be. It even went another why than I thought it was going after the first few chapters. I just knew I knew and was so surprised that it was going there. The more I read, I realized that I knew nothing. Ms. Werboweckyj took readers on a ride with this one and I, for one, am not going anywhere. I will be anxiously waiting for the second book in this series to be published.
Sophie Ashford ran away from her hometown eleven years ago. After suffering from a broken heart, she is being forced to go back home by her friend and her brother, Max. Coming home is the least of Sophie's worries. She is directing a play and her ex, the one that broke her heart, keeps flirting with her. She is having a hard time fending off his advances. Darcy O'Sullivan is "that" actor. Their breakup crushed Sophie. So much so, that her brother and her friend have staged an intervention. Unfortunately, going back home means facing one of her biggest regrets, Jake Carter. Jake is back in town working as a music teacher. There is no way Sophie is not going to run into him because her mom is also dating his dad.
Everyone in town is committed to getting Jake and Sophie back together again. Well almost everybody. Max missed spending time with his adopted sister while she was moping and trying to mend her broken heart. He doesn't want to lose her again. Jake thought about Sophie and never stopped loving her. She crushed him by leaving so abruptly. He needs to know why, but he can't deny the feelings that are still present. There is no way he can walk away from her again. He just needs reassurance from her that she won't run away again. Can Sophie face her fears and talk about them?
I am still pleasantly surprised about how this book turned out. Readers will enjoy every second. Discovering the characters and their secrets is a treat. Readers will fall in love with everyone, just like I did. I want to know more about all of them. This book had it all and I can't wait to read more from this author.
This book was great. Started off with Sophie. She moved to London from her small town. She ran away from the love of her life because she was scared. She never explained to him why she left. She buried herself in her work. She was a play director. Her brother Max ended up moving there with her. She was forced to go back home 11 years later for Christmas. Her boss made her take the time off. When she got home her life changed in so many ways. She talked to her ex Jake and cleared the air as to why she ran. During her time in London she was dating Darcy who was an Irish actor. The crew for the play ended up going to her home town for rehearsal since the theatre was under renovations. Darcy professes his love for her. She told him she was with Jake but he wasn’t giving up. This is a must read to see how this all plays out. It ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next one
This isn’t typically the sort of book I read as I prefer things on the darker side but I am so happy I took a chance on this one. Sophie has lost herself after her last fling with Darcy and so her friends decide she needs to go home over the holidays, but this is also complicated for her. I instantly liked Sophie she’s funny, sassy and sweet. I honestly loved her and Jake’s relationship but I will admit there were points where I rooted for Darcy and I genuinely didn’t know who I wanted her to end up with. This story will make you laugh cry and get hot under the collar. The cliffhanger at the end though is a killer and I can’t wait to read the next book.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author but I absolutely loved it!!!
A love triangle, trauma, and fate made this book so captivating. Please check TW as this does have a few. I can’t wait to read the sequel, Second Chances! Well done Shalleen!! 🤩🤩🤩
This book is Great. Couldn't put it down. I never read , this author before, I'm hook now. This book has wonder characters, this book kept me guessing, who she will choose. Love Sophie and Jake story. But, the ending. OMG. Can't wait , to read, Second Chances!!! A Must Read!
This was a great story by a first time author. The characters were amazing! There was mystery and twists and gasp worthy cliff hanger. Highly recommend!
A fantastic read. I absolutely loved Sophie and Jake’s story ❤️❤️❤️ It’s been years since they’ve seen each other but time didn’t lessen the feelings and their connection, everything feels right when they’re together. Sophie gets to continue with a job she loves while moving back to her hometown but of course a past lover follows and Jake isn’t completely comfortable with this little twist interrupting their newly rejuvenated relationship. A few twists and turns we don’t see coming. A wonderful host of side characters, Darcy being the biggest one, with his sweet Irish lilting voice and smooth talking reputation. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel, Shalleen certainly has a special way with writing, her words pull you into the story and keep convincing you to turn the pages. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 💜
This is the first book I've read by this author and it won't be the last. Shalleen created a beautiful heartwarming story. It's the first book in the dual telling you the story of Sophie and Jake. It takes us on a emotional rollercoaster with twists and turns. I didn't know to expect with this book and I was blown away by it. I could not for the life of me put it down. I was so invested in them. It's fast paced, action packed, emotional, funny and much more.
Sophie and Jake where suppose to be each others end game, they where each others firsts for everything. Their souls called to each other. But after Sophie finds something it has her running away from Jake and breaking his heart. He never understood what he did wrong for her to run. So many years later sophie is back in her hometown where Jake is. She will never forgive herself for throwing away what they two had. The pair need to talk. Their spark is still there. And they still love each other. Will Jake and Sophie get a chance at love again ? Will they get a happy ever after? Grab the book and find out believe me you won't be disappointed I wasn't.
Their story was so heartwarming and heartbreaking. I loved the characters, the storyline , the plots , the twists, the turns, everything. But girl that ending killed me off!! I screamed and I cried so hard. My kindle went flying across the room. I'm forever broken. Highly recommend.
"A cheeky sparkle in her big brown eyes, and the Sophie I remembered made a brief appearance."
This book is classified as Contemporary Romance, and is book one of the series. It does have a trigger warning list: spice, light BDSM, swearing, drink use, droog use, parent/sibling unaliving, keeping it in the adopted family, coming out, 18+.
The book is written in first person. This book multiple point of views: Sophie, Jake, Max, and Darcy. Sophie is a director, and her best friend owns the theatre where she directs plays. She has an adopted brother, Max. She got hurt by Darcy, but ran from Jake when she heard something. Jake dated Sophie and writes music. He is also a teacher. Max is close with Sophie, not just because she is his sister, but is keeping a major secret from her. Darcy is an actor who hurt Sophie and is desperate to get her back.
I gave this book four stars. The reason behind that is due to me not reading it again. It is an amazing book, but I feel like the twist and turns in the book would be hard to forget, and I would just remember this book and "read ahead" instead of on the page.
This is the first book I’ve read by Shaleen and OMG. This book was amazing. I loved every bit of it. I couldn’t put this book down. This is Sophie’s and Jake’s and what a ride you will be taken on. Their story is beautiful. Im not sure how I feel about the ending, it broke my heart and left me crying and devastated. I need book 2 now! Shalleen, you knocked this one out of the park, love!
As always be mindful of trigger warnings, what you like I may not.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and it will not be my last. I loved the 'home for Christmas' vibe, with a wide cast of interesting side characters. I'm not a big reader of contemporary romances, but I really enjoyed this one!
