I'm a desk dweller, usually found attempting to write whilst surrounded by a pack of demanding animals.

I live in semi-rural West Yorkshire, England. Home of rugged moors, gritty northern towns, and sunlit vistas. When it's not raining. Or snowing. Or blowing a gale.

I write historical fantasy with a twist of tarot. You definitely don't have to know anything about Tarot to enjoy the stories. But if you do, I hope you enjoy the imagery, themes and character depictions I've managed to incorporate!

Tales from the Tarot is a standalone series. You don't have to read them in order, although Seer of Epera does lead directly to Queen of Swords.

I anticipate that many of my characters will make return appearances in future books! There's nothing better than a quick revisit to see how they are all getting on!

‘He who holds the Grayling, holds the crown’
A suspenseful adventure tale with a light twist on palace politics. The author takes the intrigue out of the castle and into the streets. Readers get a taste of what the masses think and how they react.

Better to learn from the mistakes of others rather than our own – those lessons are more visible, just as powerful, and a lot less painful. “An ounce of prevention” and all that…

Some sage advice on how to live an ethical life:
Don’t use your gifts, talents, or powers to hurt those who ‘cannot retaliate in kind’. A fair fight begins only on an even playing field.

Looking forward to the upcoming ‘Knight of Swords’ and ‘King of Swords’.
