This commentary series seeks to provide a verse-by-verse explanation of the meaning of books of the Bible in a non-technical manner, while remaining sensitive to the grammar and lexical meaning of the words of the original text. Attention is also given to secondary material, and a list of the resources cited in the commentary is provided for the reader. Discussion questions are included and designed to provide a bridge from the original context to the reader’s context. The treatment of each passage will help facilitate one’s personal Bible study and offer a resource for the classroom and small group settings.
