Festive Christmas #3

Sleigh Bells & Snowflakes

Rate this book

Alexa Brussels has spent the past ten years building a name for herself in one of the biggest tech companies in the world. Having worked hard, through Christmas, birthdays, and everything in between, the new merger is exactly what Alexa needs to finally get that promotion.

But when a snowstorm derails her from flying to the city to take care of her sister’s belongings, nothing goes according to plan. Alexa is now stuck in the Belleyare ski resort in the Catskills, with no way back, and a blackmailer breathing down her neck threatening to undermine everything she’s worked hard to accomplish.

Josh Fletcher spends most of his time working and trying to re-connect with his daughter. Since the death of his late wife a couple of years back, he and Molly have not been able to see eye to eye on things, especially in the events leading up to his wife’s demise.

All he wants is to feel close to his daughter again.

With their paths crossing frequently and life tugging them in opposite directions, neither Alexa nor Josh knows what to do with their newfound connection. As they fight their feelings for each other and struggle to deny the truth, the only thing on either of their minds is why.

Why would fate bring them back together again after all this time?

And will Alexa end up needing Josh and Molly as much as they need her?

This is book three of the Christmas series, a warm, cozy, and festive drama full of adventure, hope, heart and brimming with the spirit and magic of the holidays, and what it means to find second chances and recapture the glory, magic, and innocence of Christmas. It unfolds in the picturesque and serene town of Catskills.

There’s nothing like a blizzard to force you into confronting your past, and Sleigh Bells & Snowflakes wastes no time stranding Alexa Brussels at the last place she wants to be—a quaint, snow-covered ski resort run by the ex she left behind ten years ago. Alexa, a high-powered tech executive who does not have time for nostalgia, just wants to catch her flight and nail her upcoming promotion. The universe, however, has other plans, and by “other plans,” I mean dumping a foot of snow on her escape route and throwing her directly into the path of Josh Fletcher—the ex she never quite forgot.

Josh, meanwhile, is now a widower, running the resort while trying (and failing) to connect with his teenage daughter, Molly. He’s got zero interest in Alexa waltzing back into his life, but surprise! She’s snowed in, there’s nowhere to run, and the Christmas vibes are relentless. (Seriously, between the roaring fireplaces and festive decorations, even the most Grinch-like heart would crack.) Cue the forced proximity, old wounds cracking open, and some very inconvenient lingering chemistry. (Oops.)

This book delivers all the best second-chance romance tropes, wrapping them up in a warm, snow-dusted, feel-good package. Alexa and Josh’s banter is just the right mix of “I hate you” and “why do I still want to kiss you?” Molly’s teen angst is believable without being over the top, and the small-town charm of the ski lodge makes you want to book a holiday vacation immediately. While the plot is predictable in the way all the best Christmas romances are, it leans all the way into the cozy, Hallmark-y goodness without feeling stale. Sleigh Bells & Snowflakes delivers festive second-chance romance at its best—so settle in with a blanket, a cup of cocoa, and prepare to swoon.

- Snowed in
- Second chance
- Set in an inn

I just love Christmas romances set in resorts or inns. There is something so magical about it.

In this story, we have Alexa, who works long hours trying to prove herself to her boss. While on a quick trip to her late sister's to pack up her house, a winter storm rolls in and all the airports close. She is befriended by an older couple who have offered to drive her to the resort where they have a room.

Inn manaager Josh is trying to cope with the loss of his wife, while also trying to reconnect with his teenage daughter. Although Josh doesn't enjoy celebrating Christmas, he likes to make it a memorable event for his guests.

Alexa is shocked to see Josh as they dated while in college. She hasn't recovered from the split and doesn't want to stay at the inn, but the weather conditions are too bad for her to leave.

There is nothing more sweet than a reconnection for the holidays.

With the holidays upon us, this is the 3rd book in a holiday series from Kimberly Thomas.

Alexa works hard and is on the verge of a merger that would elevate her career. However a colleague wants to destroy the deal for her. In addition, she has been receiving threatening emails.

Due to a death in the family, she needs to return to settle the estate. However, a snowstorm has her sidelined at a local resort. Managed by an ex boyfriend.

Josh hasn't had it easy the past few years and is struggling with his teen daughter.

Alexa and Josh begin spending time together. Alexa friends Josh's daughter and relationships start to mend and grow.

Beautiful story of healing, forgiveness, friendship and love.

Thank you to the author for an ARC.

Alexa and Josh were college sweethearts. After Josh got back from a year abroad, he met and fell in love with Molly and they were married and had a daughter. Tragically Molly died and left Josh to deal with a very unhappy teen age daughter. Alexa went to work for a tech company and after 10 years of giving all of her time and energy to the company she is on the verge of a major promotion if she can negotiate a merger. Alexa is back in town to take care of her sister's estate and when she tries to fly back, the snow has grounded all the airlines. She ends up at a ski resort that is managed by her old boyfriend Josh. There are still sparks between the two of them but will Alexa's job and Josh's desire to connect with his daughter keep them apart? or will true love and the Christmas season win out over all of the complications??

Alexa has spent the last ten years building her reputation and the merger that she has set up should earn her a promotion. Now she has to go and close up her stepsister's estate. However, the weather doesn't cooperate and she ends up at a ski resort in the Catskills, stranded by the storm.

The resort is run by her college boyfriend, Josh, who is still mourning his dead wife and having problems connecting with his teenage daughter.

This is a lovely feel good second chance story with a few unexpected twists to the story.

Alexia and Josh's story is a sweet second chance romance that wraps around you like a warm blanket.

College sweetheart who loved each other deeply, but also was willing to give each other what they needed, even if an opportunity would pull them apart. Josh left when he became an exchange student, upon returning he fell in love and got married.

Years later fate brings Josh and Alexia back together. Josh is now a widower with a teenage daughter. Their connection is there, and Alexia finds a connection with his daughter.

Good story from the start.

Too many cinnamon smells

Author Thomas crafts a b+ story with d minus editing. She even forgets her characters names sometimes and almost every scene smells like cinnamon! Her tenses are frequently wrong and actions are stilted. There is so much author intrusion it interupts the story as if she is adding words just to increase the word count. Good story premise, terrible editing.

Being snowed in during a blizzard allows Alexa
To reconnect with college boyfriend Josh. Through in a work place betrayed and corporate back stabbing has Alexa scrambling to close a business deal. Josh is still recovering from the death of his wife and his daughter Molly feels betrayed after Josh allowed life support to be disconnected. Will the Christmas spirit allow healing and recovery?

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

An encouraging ... Don't say never!

The encouragement, the finding time to laugh and share was wonderful. Nothing can beat ... Reuniting with the one (s) we love and that forgiveness is a hug away.

Sleigh Bells &Snowflakes

This book was hard to put down with all of the sad family events but all three families found a way to work their way through it. Alexa running into her old boyfriend really made it interesting. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Liked the story line very much. The book felt very disjointed. Grammar issues that I had to reread. Very disappointing. I’m kept thinking this book translated from another language or AI? Disappointed.

Good holiday story

It was a good holiday story. Lots of sad memories in the story. So it's not a story if you don't like sad memories. The ending was sweet. A teenager had help in making peace with losing her mom and finding her dad again.
