Baylor

Torryn Gray is bold, brash, and has a reputation that rivals even mine.

She should be terrifying, but I’m only intrigued, captivated by the way she doesn’t need to be the center of attention.

Coming off a season where my past exploits haunted me, I’ve vowed to be more careful about who I let into my bed. Someone who won’t distract me. Who won’t attempt to manipulate or take advantage. Someone like Torryn, who isn’t easily impressed. Who doesn’t care about falling in love or what I can do with a puck.

All I have to do is convince her I’m more than capable of giving her what she needs. Hint–it starts with o and ends with her screaming my name.I guess it’s a good thing I’m well known for my talent but even better known for what I can do on a mattress.

Torryn

There are three things that are important to me

My family

My best friend

My future

If it doesn’t help me protect or serve those things, I don’t have time or energy for it. I’ve barely managed to find time for fleeting moments of pleasure. But even those hookups are starting to feel like more effort than their worth.

Until my best friend drags me to a hockey house and I meet Baylor Levine.

Charming, outgoing, and playful, he’s convinced he can give me exactly what I need–all the rewards and none of the risks.

It’s all fun and games and twisted bedsheets until an unknown player enters the arena, making demands and following them with threats. As my stalker grows bolder, Baylor grows more and more protective. We grow closer until even our friends are starting to look at us sideways.

But haven’t they ever heard of friends with benefits before?

This book started with all the drama!! Like whew!! But it was amazing.. I absolutely love the stigmas that the author tackled in this book. This book had both FMC and MC that were known to get around, but i loved how she owned it. The whole book was a great read.

Tapped out at 30%

I feel like almost too much happened? If that makes any sense 🤣

Torryn and Baylor both have a reputation for getting around, but have somehow never fucked each other. That's pretty much the only reason they decide to hook up. & it's prolly just me, but there wasn't enough chemistry for me to even care about them banging it out within the first 3 chapters lol

On top of being known for her bitchy love ‘em and leave ‘em rep, Torryn is also a super smart college student, who works as a tutor AND as a baseball bat wielding bartender at a seedy strip club so she can send her gma $$ to help with the fam bam, and also has a stalker????

Her and Baylor also adopt kittens together, which is honestly such a weird thing to do with someone you’re just fucking, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Idk, I really wanted to like this and think it has a lot of potential, but I just wasn’t vibing.

This is the book I didn’t know I needed!
I mainly read dark romance but this one caught my eye and I’m so glad I took a chance 😄 the best things about this book is the relationships between the characters- the friendships that become family and the family that’s there 😍 Baylor and Torryn are very similar in their outlook towards their relations (friends with benefits) and it works well for them…yet they seem completely oblivious to the deeper connection building between them - I love the fact we get to ‘watch’ it being built authentically 😄 as things get worse with Torryns stalker it forces them to take a closer look at what they’re feeling and more so when Baylor opens up about his fears 😣
The scene with Baylor’s mum discussing ‘doing it’ and how oblivious they are had me laughing out loud! There’s lots of giggle moments throughout this book 😂 their whole friend groups is brilliant with so many different characters but there’s plenty of time for each of them to shine - can’t wait to see them in later books!

I know a lot of things, but the most important thing I know right now, is I’m not close to being done with Torryn fucking Gray.

A very fast burn f-buddies to friends to lovers romance. It’s a light and easy read (some darker themes in the form of a stalker and past traumas but the actual romance is sweet). A bit of hockey, a college setting, and a meddling friend group. And a pair of kittens.

I really liked the MCs - the golden retriever hockey player MMC, Baylor, and the prickly, driven FMC, Torryn. Their relationship was completely believable - FWB in college who become more.

The book is fast burn and spicy. The sexual relationship is well established before any feelings are involved.

A standalone in a new series, this book ends in a HEA.

If you’re looking for a lighter read with a ton of spice, this book is for you.

Genre: College Sports Romance
Tropes/Features: Hockey, friends with benefits, FWB to lovers, golden retriever MMC, prickly FMC, meddling roommates, cute kittens, stalker
POV: Dual 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: MF, fast burn, spicy
Book Type/Ending: Standalone with HEA
TW/CW: Available in Forward

In the prologue of this book, we meet Torryn and learn of the toxic relationship that colors all her future dating habits.

That is the story that Isla, Torryn's best friend is regaling the guys with at the beginning of this book. We meet Baylor, and his teammates Wells, Beau and Zac as they express their disbelief.

Torryn has a reputation almost as notorious as Baylor's. One-night stands are their forte and they're proud of it. Their night together sizzles of the pages and promises not to be just that one night.

We learn more about Baylor in hockey practice the next day when the coach tells him to keep doing whatever it is he's doing because he's never looked better on the ice. We also meet a couple other teammates, James and Jayden as they show interest in both Torryn and Isla. Both of them shutdown quickly by Wells who claims Isla and Baylor who, while not exactly claiming Torryn as his girl, makes it clear she's off limits.

Torryn has an interesting job as a bartender at the Tease 'Em and Please 'Em titty bar. She's worked there since she was sixteen and has refined instincts when it comes to the customers. She has a bat she's named Betty with which she controls unruly customers, backed up by a regular, Officer Derek, and the bouncer Reggie.

Now being a college hockey team, you know there are going to be parties. We meet more of the team at one of them as we learn about Clarissa and her connection to Baylor. This also leads to his second night with Torryn.

I get quite the kick out of the texts between Isla and Wells. They're very telling, and it later becomes a group text to discuss Baylor and Torryn's relationship.

We meet Torryn's grandmother, sister Rayne and brother Kanyon as she facetimes with them. Her grandma is a hoot, her brother a star high-school football player and her sister is sweet and still deciding what she'd like to pursue in life.

Torryn's other job is tutoring which this semester includes one of the hockey players, Wilder. The chance encounter between Baylor and them after a tutoring session is amusing, then well you know. It also leads into a favorite part of the book for me, when they visit a cat café.

With the adoption of Karma and Potato, it's at this point everything changes for Baylor and Torryn although these two are obviously clueless.

This is also where we become aware of a serious stalker that Torryn has. With Isla and Wells also present to see the damage to Torryn's car we see the solidarity of the hockey team come forth to include Torryn in their ranks.

With many twists, this book is fun, flirty, sensuous, sizzling and at times scary. I couldn't put this book down, I had to know what would happen next.

Absolutely incredible! Five Million Stars!!! This book literally had me addicted from the first page. I didn’t want to put it down, but also read it slow, because I didn’t want it to end.

I got 33% into this book and was so obsessed with these characters, I had made my book edit just from the first third of the book. I had so many visual thoughts from this book I made two edits, I loved it so much.

Torryn the female character, everyone needs a bestie like her. And everyone needs to be more like her, strong, fierce, vulnerable, sexy and loyal. This girl has it all. I would sell my soul to be her bestie. She is put through so much in this book, but nothing she can’t handle. And even when it seems she needs backup, girl has so much backup you wish you could be a part of this friend group.

Baylor the male character, is a golden retriever who hates being alone, thinks about his friends first and always and does he have it sooooo bad for Torryn and he has no idea how bad he has it for her. Heck, she has it just as bad for him and has no idea and it makes the story sooooo much better. Baylor goes through some stuff in the book that was beautiful for the two characters to help each other out. They are in each other’s corners. These two are soooo fun, and soooo hot together. I literally could not get enough.

And their friend group and both Torryn & Baylor’s families had me loving them. Next Thanksgiving they all need to be together, B’s brothers & mom and Tor’s grandma, that would be sooooo fun. The friends too, which made the book sooooo funny, I would sell my soul to be a part of this awesome group! Isla, Wells, Beau, Xander, James, Tate, and all the others, absolutely incredible! They had me laughing hysterically, to the point of tears! I hope others get stories, because they are all too fun not to. Beau and Xander I’m looking at you both mostly, I want yours books.

I had sooooooooo much fun reading this book. This had me on the edge of my seat and I didn’t want to put the book down. I loved it sooooo much. The darn cutest cats too, this book has it all!

Disclaimer: I received this book at no cost from the publisher/author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I am leaving a voluntary review and all opinions are my own.

This book was delightfully addictive! I was totally on board for a friends-with-benefits hockey romance.

The author had an engaging writing style that I connected with easily. The plot was exciting and kept me wanting more. All the drama and twists had me hooked.

This book has squad goals for days! I loved all the friendships and bonds. The dynamics between the characters were so entertaining. The characters were original and complex. They were relatable with distinct voices. I loved how fleshed out the characters were. The main characters had backgrounds that added depth to the story. I adored the secondary characters and just wanted more of them.

Torryn and Baylor have similar reputations on campus and end up together for a night of fun. That only ends up turning into a friendship which turns into more. The relationship grew as time went by but the attraction was there from the start. I loved Baylor's protective nature when it came to Torryn. Their chemistry was undeniable and the steam was fantastic.

Overall, this was a brilliantly written college sports romance. The characters were memorable, the plot was compelling, and the romance was hot. If you enjoy your romance with a balance of emotion, smut, and humor then this book should be your next stop. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series!

This book to me was perfect. If you love a hockey romance, friends with benefits, tons of banter, black cat/golden retriever couple with taylor swift references then this book if for you

Torryn and Baylor are two people known quite frankly as players. They aren't afraid to admit they love and enjoy sex and don't shame each other for it. When they decide one night to finally sleep together they both realise that there is something between them because the sex is EXPLOSIVE.

What starts out as a friends with benefits situation soon turns into them adopting cats, sneaking off into bathrooms at parties and generally spending a lot of time together.

When Torryn realises she has a stalker Baylor does everything he can to protect her. Her and Isla eventually move in with the guys but even there isn't safe because they know where they are staying.

I love how Baylor is a big SWIFTIE, I love the way he teases Torryn's cat - Potato and doesn't actually call him by his real name but its always something potato related. I love the friendship between the guys and how fiercely protective they are. I just honestly love everything about this book!

Baylor and Tarryn were such a joy to read about. Both of them were exactly what their friends thought of them as -- IDIOTS at times because they couldn't see what everyone else saw in them. They both were falling madly in love or more like they were in love but were in denial (rolling eyes) and every one of their friends kept hinting to them that that's what they were (smh).

Baylor and Tarryn met at the hockey house and Tarryn's friend took her just for the sake of it. When they got to talking and Baylor started flirting with Tarryn he knew she was the type of girl that he could hook up with and didn't have to worry about her being clingy and vice versa. And what started off as a little hook-up turned up as hooking up almost all the time. It seemed like neither one could stay away from the other.

They both had a pretty bad reputation but neither one seemed to care what people thought of them, which was fine with them both. They both got along great and that's all that mattered until someone started stalking Tarryn and then things got more serious and Baylor took that crap serious and it almost made Baylor realize that Tarryn meant more to him than just a hook up.

I seriously loved these two. Tarryn was one of those girls who didn't give a hoot what people thought about her or if they called her names. She knew what she was and what she liked and she went for what she wanted and that's all that mattered, that and her family were her number 1 priority ... until Baylor came in the picture and then he also became an important person in her life.

The banter was hilarious and at the same time it got a bit serious too and a little emotional towards the end. Tarryn and Baylor would get pretty hot and heavy throughout the book (yum) and there were parts that made you almost bite your nails.

This was a total thumbs up for me :)

Special thanks to Samantha for the arc of this book! Player Problems is now available in paperback and will hit KU on Monday, Feb. 19!

Torryn and Baylor are both some of the most notorious players that you will see on Westbrook University’s campus. Torryn, with her priorities set straight, is just looking for a good time with no strings attached, while Baylor does his best to ensure that those he does let in are not going to mess him up like last time.

Seeing the relationship between these two characters bloom throughout the entire book was so much fun. You can clearly see how much love the two of them have for each other, but are still completely adamant that what they have is just friendship and a mutually beneficial friends-with-benefits situation. Will say, I utterly LOVED the random little snippets of the group chats with all of their friends being like…wtf is wrong with those two, they’re really never going to figure it out aren’t they. And the banter between those two was utterly next level. I cannot tell you how many times I was giggling when Baylor was called Potato literally every other name BESIDES Potato and how upset Torryn got over it. Her no BS sass was really shining through trying to defend the kitty’s honor.

Torryn reminds me a lot of Scar (from Samantha’s World of Chaos universe), and I love the representation of strong, independent, fiercely loyal FMC that will do anything for their family and loved ones. For now, I will continue to sit here twiddling my thumbs waiting for JADE’S NOT STANDALONE STORY (ugh when I tell you, when I saw that and DM’d Samantha RIGHT AWAY being like girl, what) and the next books in the Westbrook U series :).

ARC review for 'Player Problems' by Samantha Bee

This was actually my first time reading a book solely written by Samantha, as I am more familiar with her writing in collaboration with G.N. Wright. However, I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed ‘Player Problems’.

The storyline follows Torryn Gray and Baylor Levine, two outgoing individuals who surprisingly have never crossed paths before. They meet at a random college party, hook up, and quickly become best friends with benefits.

I have never seen a couple fall for each other so seamlessly before. Torryn and Baylor are perfectly compatible in every aspect, and it was a joy to witness their relationship blossom as they became each other’s rock and constant support.

Torryn is the kind of best friend every girl dreams of having - strong, confident, loyal, and unapologetically herself. Despite facing challenges in her past, she remains mature and responsible, balancing her studies and work to take care of her grandmother and younger siblings.

In contrast, Baylor is the caring, sociable hockey star who thrives on being surrounded by friends and loved ones. He is always there for his team and friends, going above and beyond to support them in every way.

Their group of friends, as well as Baylor’s family and Torryn’s, add another layer of warmth and support to the story. I hope to see more of them in future books.

The book may appear lighthearted with its pink cover and funny moments, but there is a darker side to the story involving a stalker that adds a thrilling element towards the end.

If you enjoy friends-to-lovers hockey romances with a touch of humor, a hint of suspense, and two cute cats thrown in, then this book is a must-read. I found myself hooked from the first few chapters and couldn’t put it down until the very end.

Overall, ‘Player Problems’ is a fun and engaging read with plenty of surprises to keep you entertained throughout.

Player Problem by Samantha Bee

Torryn may be one of the strongest, badäss, independent woman at face value but behind the mask she is fighting to stay a float. She never saw herself as the relationship type one because she never had the time for it and 2 it just wasn’t something that interest her. Her best friend drags her to a party one night to hang out with some of the school hockey team, goes from body shöts to being carried out fireman style by a hot hockey god that has a reputation just as wild as her own.

Baylor swore off relationship, sticking to hockey, school, and hookups. He was bound and determined to help his team make it through to the championship this season, after a shattering ending to the previous year. So when a black hair, blue eyed goddess with a nice rack catches his attention. Tequila with a chaser of Torryn is all he can think about as he takes her back to her place as she helps him with some stick handling drills.

As both of their No-relationships rule presses on their friendship grows each day turning into more of a friends with benefits situationship. But when an unknown threät risk Torryn’s safety Baylor and the hockey guys take it upon themselves to become her own personal bodyguards.

About Pucking Time...

Golden Retriever Hockey boy meets Black Cat Workaholic girl

I wish all romance book FC's were just like Torryn! She is strong, capable, and doesn't need a man to complete her. She isn't afraid to live out her sexual nature era and gives zero effs about what others might think or day about it. She doesn't do relations but is definitely down for a quick hook-up.
Enters Baylor...married to the hockey life so he has no time for a relationship. He is always down for a quick hook-up...and now you know how Baylor met Torryn 😂
Even after REPEATED hook-ups, they are both still cruising down the River of Relationship Denial. Baylor doesn't reallllyyyy have feelings for Torryn (yes, he does), he is just being a complete gentleman who looks after a woman in trouble. The level of blatant ignorance of feelings between these two gets so high than you need waders. It gets pretty comical.
Their banter is *chef's kiss*. Torryn gives as good as she gets and Baylor isn't pulling any punches.
Poor Potato probably has an identity crisis from the various different names Baylor calls him..without actually using the name Potato 😂 Of course, Baylor only did it because it annoyed Torryn. 😂
Fantastic book! Can't wait to read the other books in this series. Will it be Baylor's teammates or his brothers?! Either way, I am down for the ride!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Baylor and Torryn. The three things that are important to her are her family, best friend and her future. She doesn't have time for much in her life besides those thing and the random hookups she is getting really tired of. However when her best friend drags her to a hockey game she meets Baylor. He is charming and outgoing and very playful. He also tells her that he can give her what she needs without all the effort . So a no risk and multiple rewards situation. Baylor too is thrilled with this arrangement. After all he had a season where his not so discrete hookups he is looking for someone who won't take advantage or manipulate the situation. so this arrangement is perfect for him too. And Torryn fascinates him. Everything is going perfectly between them and they are reaping the benefits until a stalker comes on the scene making demands following them up with threats. He is bold and only getting bolder and they grow so much closer. I don't want to say too much more or I will give something away. This is a great read that you do not want to miss though.

Player Problems is such a fun friends with benefits, insta-lust story to read with great characters and plenty of sizzling hot times between Torryn and Baylor. I actually really love that this doesn't try to get all serious too quickly and bonus for an actual true friendship to form and not just two people hooking up. My absolute favorite part of the book is how Samantha Bee gives us a group of hockey players who are so tight-knit and loyal, never batting an eye when both Torryn and Isla entered the mix and dropped everything when someone was in trouble. I absolutely look forward to more of these guys in future books.

Tor and Baylor definitely were perfect to be brought together, both hard working, stubborn, but also with level heads when it comes to something important. It was actually pretty cute to see who fell first and even better when it was completely reciprocated. I did enjoy the underlying drama that kept bringing these two together, however the big reveal fell extremely flat to me so I'm hoping there's more to learn in whoever's book comes next. Overall, Player Problems was great and I appreciate the opportunity to be able to read this copy.

This is my first book by Samantha Bee and while it felt a little too long, it really was a great read. Torryn is a badass female main character which I absolutely enjoy and with Baylor being a lovable goof, it's a perfect match between them. I love all the side characters in this book and their plotting to get these two idiots together.
The best part about this book, which totally blew me away was the spotlight the author brought on men being victim of SA. It's high time in both fictional and real world to recognize that men can be victims too and it doesn't make them any less of a man. The way Samantha wrote that scene was absolutely brilliant.
The queen of breaking stereotype didn't just stop there, she had a woman defend her man's honor being kicking ass and being the alpha protector not just for her man but for all the people in her life and at work. It was such a refreshing change of scenario from the usual only men can be the protector schtick. I love how in sync both Torryn and Baylor were every step of the way. If you're someone who doesn't enjoy third act break up, then this book is absolutely perfect!

🏒 hockey romance
✨dual pov
🏒 found family
✨ FMC has a stalker
🏒 strong independent FMC (black cat)
✨ golden retriever MMC
🏒 friends with benefits
✨ idiots to lovers 😂

Okay I so didn’t know idiots to lovers were a thing until this book and I am here for it!!! It maybe a new favorite 😂 I just love Torryn and Baylor!

Torryn is a girl who can take care of herself and she’s not afraid to let you know. So she may come off as cold but deep down she’s just hiding from trauma she doesn’t even remember.

Baylor is the school’s biggest… how to put it nicely…. man wh0re or so he thought until he met Torryn.

When they started their friends with benefits never did they think they would be best friends.

But as they keep getting closer so does Torryns stalker and Baylor takes it upon himself to keep her safe.

This is where I’m gonna stop with my overview because I’m not gonna spoil anything.

All I can say is this is a GREAT read and I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read more from this friend group!

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is a light, funny, fast-burn romance that is such a nice palate cleanser from some of the heavier books I've been reading as of late. It's got some great tropes to hook you in - hockey romance, friends with benefits to lovers, witty banter and a surprising amount of heart.

This book definitely deserves the "idiots to lovers" tag the author attached to it in her promo of the novel - I loved watching the relationship between Torryn and Baylor bloom, but both of them so strongly rejecting that they're anything more than friends with benefits. The cast of all their friends trying to meddle and tell them what is really going on had me in stitches a couple of times throughout reading.

There's some good drama within which only adds to the building of the relationship. I definitely feel this was more of a book about watching two people find each other and watching them realise they're falling in love more than anything else, and it was a wonderful read. And shoutout to Betty. That scene was amazing! (iykyk)

5 Stars and one of my top books for 2024!
4/5 for the spice.
———
Torryn is a bold woman who takes no shit, with a reputation around campus for her black cat attitude and her love for sex. Between getting her degree and working 2 jobs to be able to send money home to her family, Torryn does not have time for a boyfriend and prefers to stick to casual sex. The only person on campus with a reputation like hers is Baylor, one of the schools top hockey players. With his reputation in the sheets Torryn can not say no to his advances. But their one night stand quickly becomes a friendship when Torryn realizes she has a stalker. As the stalker gets bolder Baylor because more concerned for Torryn’s safety and becomes more protective. But that’s just what friends do right?

I love, love , LOVE this book! I read Player Problems in one Sunday because I could not put it down! The book has an amazing mix of strong and diverse characters that were very easy to fall in love with. Baylor in particular I quickly fell in love with which surprised me because usually I find golden retriever MMCs slightly annoying but Baylor was so wholesome yet smug that he melted my heart from the start. The plot kept me on my toes in a way I did not expect. I enjoyed how the stalker brought a dark edge to the book without being a “dark romance” the the sense that the FMC falls for the villain. But instead it added twists to push Torryn and Baylor closer but you still got the fun thrill in the darkness of the stalker closing in. I loved that there was no third act break up and I could rave for days about how the author wrote the idiots to lovers troupe. It can be hard to write that trope in a way that does not frustrate the audience that the characters won’t just figure it out and get together but the author wrote it so perfectly that I was charmed by their inability to realize they had feelings for each other. And finally the smut! Samantha Bee does not make you wait, chapter 2 we get right into it. The smut is amazingly written and there’s a good amount sprinkled perfectly through the book. Just enough that your always satisfied but written so perfectly that you can not want for the next scene.

Player Problems will for sure be one of my top books of the year and I am so honored I was able to read the ARC. I highly recommend this book and hope I will receive more ARCs from Samantha Bee because I am in love with her writing now and I’ll be reading all of her works!

🩷Player Problems by Samantha Bee🩷

This was my first read by Samantha Bee, I originally only bought it because there were cats on the cover but absolutely fell in love with Baylor and Torryn!

Player Problems is a fast burn hockey friends with benefits romance - if that doesn’t sell you what will?

There’s drama from page 1, sm🔥t from chapter 2! The writing style and plot was addicting from the beginning. Characters were easy to connect with and relatable. Even the side characters had me intrigued, I’d take a story on any of those hockey boys any day.

Following Baylor and Torryn’s new relationship the book takes a turn when Torryn has a mysterious stalker, the suspense had me not able to put the book down!

My favourite scene from the book is when Baylor and Torryn adopt kittens🥹 of course Baylor the MC being a huge swiftie names his Karma while Torryn goes for Potato. If you’ve read this book what was your favourite scene?

I’ll definitely be stopping by Samantha’s table at BBB and if you haven’t seen she has a pretty SE of this book too!😍

Torryn and Baylor are both notoriously know for their promiscuous ways so no one ever thinks they will be serious enough to settle down. Torryn had a previous relationship that has basically made her sworn of anything other than a bit of fun. Baylor is just always down for a good time in his manly flirtatious ways. Both are looking for a no strings attached type of relationship with one type of end game in mind the big O.
This book has a bit of a twist to it with the stalker element and that really had me hooked as well. I absolutely love me a character soft for some sweet little furry besties you have to read it to find out which kind I'm talking about LOL.
This book seriously had me liking the friends with benefits type of situation they had going on, as well as the friend group in this was also really enjoy able.
I absolutely enjoyed this one and I cant wait for more of the Westbrook Wolves :)

Baylor and Torryn are one of my favorite couples. Baylor and Torryn started as friends with benefits. However, if you ask their friends, they will say they are idiots in love and not just friends with benefits.

Torryn has a rough past, and it has caused her to form a hard shell. She doesn’t let people in very often but when she does it means you mean something. Baylor finds a way into her heart.

Baylor reminds me of a golden retriever. He has a wild side to him but he also has the biggest heart. Hockey has always been #1 on Baylor’s mind until Torryn.

If your looking for a good friend group who takes care of each other and push each other this is the friend group you don’t want to miss. They all love each other and will protect each other with no end.

I would highly recommend this as your next read!

Whew what a ride

This book had me hooked from the first page. Drama started immediately and I was so here for it. This is a M/F, dual POV, hockey book. Torryn is the FMC and Baylor the MMC. They are both known to get around quite a bit. I love how they both own it especially Torryn. I loved how they got together as just book ups but also could tell they were perfect for each other but neither of them realized they were becoming deeper involved with each other. There is also a stalker in this and some things that both of them have gone through and the reasons they don't do relationships.

Lots of hot and steamy scenes and loved each and everyone of them. Such an amazing roller coaster of a book and loved every minute of it. Don't want to give anything away but will say if you like spice and hockey, read this book. Thank you Samantha for this wonderful book and here's hoping for more on the Wolves because I really enjoyed all of the side characters.

(Thank you Peachy Keen and the author Samantha Bee for the eARC in exchange for a spoiler free review)

Please check the foreword before reading if necessary.

It has been long since I received an ARC to read so thank you Samantha for being the first one of the year!

I usually don’t read sports romances as much but I wanted something light in my heavy life so I signed up for it. The trope friends with benefits is also not something I read often or rather that is developed before the friendship before so that attracted me.

This book was indeed light and fast paced without any unnecessary drama. It showed the way they functioned as friends and more and also in their social circles. The stalker trope was not as intense as it would be in dark romances but it did push it from a boring contemporary to at least an interesting contemporary.

Overall, this was just the kind of read I needed to escape from real life for a while.

Seppy's 5 + Review:
Baylor and Tarryn are both known for hookups and nothing more. When these two met at the hockey house sparks fly. These two hook up once then from there it becomes a repeat hook-up.  One day Baylor spends the whole day hanging out with Tarryn and avoiding his teammates and friends. These two can't stay away from each other. Tarryn has a stalker and it becomes pretty dangerous that she moves in with Baylor and his teammates. The best part was that either would admit that their "friendship" was more than just friends with benefits or just a repeat hook-up. These two love and care for each other. But try telling them that!

I loved reading about Baylor and Tarryn and their denial of a relationship. It was a great read that I enjoyed. I loved that these two both have a reputation for one-night stands but find each other and it becomes more that either of them can see. I loved it and it was an amazing read.

Overall, I would consider this a lighter read, but there are a few darker themes inside.
Filled with lots of humor, spice, and a little drama. We also get a side of mystery and a little suspense wondering who the stalker is.

Torryn and Baylor fit so good together. They were so alike in some ways, but different in others. They balanced each other out. The banter and spice between them was perfect. The way their relationship progressed seem natural and genuine.
I loved both of them.

In addition we have great cast of secondary characters. This book was filled with great examples of supporting family and friends. You will definitely experience laugh out loud moments, lots of banter, and you will even get all the feels.

I think this was a great read and I'm so glad Torryn and Baylor got their happy ending!
I hope we get to see more from them and their friends in the future.

Player Problems is such a fun and enjoyable read! It's all about the connections between people, especially Baylor and Torryn. They start off with just a one-time thing, but then it turns into this whole friends-with-benefits situation. As they navigate through everything, including Torryn's stalker, their bond deepens into a real, meaningful friendship. What I loved most were the characters – especially Baylor. He's just so endearing, you can't help but root for him. And the plot? Total surprise. It's got this perfect mix of suspense and romance that keeps you hooked. Oh, and the author? They nail the whole "idiots to lovers" thing, with steamy scenes that hit all the right spots. Plus, there's this college backdrop with hockey and meddling friends that adds to the fun. If you're up for a light yet spicy read, this book is totally your jam.

Torryn has had a rough life so she wears a mask of indifference all the time. She’s free with her sexuality and owns it. She meets Baylor, one of the schools star hockey players, at a party. He’s had some trauma in his life and he too avoids relationships at all costs. They hook up that night thinking it will be a one time thing but there is a connection there.
Torryn ends up having stalker and Baylor and the hockey team keep an eye on her and her best friend, Isla. There is a major twist I did not see coming at the end.
While this book does have some serious content and there are some definite trigger warnings it’s also hilarious at times. The banter between all of them is great. I absolutely LOVE Torryn’s grandma.

I was given this as an arc for an honest review.
