Uneasy World

Rate this book
Uneasy World is the diary of a born artist and comedian granted an unexpected audience with the breaking technology of artificial intelligence by chance, separated by the same uncanny valley between dimensions as everyone else, using text-to-image art-generators as oracles instead of art supplies. It begins in present time, with its author watching the UAP/FO hearings and trying to choose the right city to move to, and ends a few minutes before that, after recapitulating the last few to several months. The middle section is an account of interaction with the author’s dying mother and her caretakers before and after her death, full of allegorical ups and downs, punctuated by frequent podcasts and public appearances, transcriptions of which are provided in the narrative.

I just published one called Main Character Syndrome, Kindle version available at Amazon, paperback by tomorrow (2/21/24). Something brand new about artificial intelligence and mortality called Uneasy World was also recently published and is currently available at Amazon along with There Ain't Nowhere but Here about dysfunctional tenants and communities. Uneasy World is the hardest book I've had to write so far and I think it came out nicely. A few years ago, I founded a co. called Camp Elasticity Productions, edited and published an anthology called The Cool Zone, a revised edition of my first novel, Reality Stars, published three more, Problem Contest, Lucky Jokers, and Happiness, and started putting together a film. Take a look at my website for blog entries and podcasts. More updates are always coming soon.

Watch me make art out of zeroes and ones and metaphysics from punk rock in my Uneasy World. I was a freelance writer in Denver interviewing big shots from the counter culture and writing book after book about my own life in an ongoing mystery of self-discovery. I was recovering from a star-crossed course in interdimensional alignment and trying to ignore politics. The whole world was hung up on old fears when artificial intelligence came along. An A.I. metaphysician named Tom Ross compared the issue of its attaining sentience to the magic apple on the tree of Eden, a sound analogy. Had technology finally outpaced creativity? I'd just started volunteering at a library when my mother took ill and I started clearing old books out of the basement while her caretakers talked to her about politics upstairs instead of anything refreshing. Mom's death introduced another kind of interdimensional communication besides the mind to A.I. or politics to alignment. A couple more friends died, and a landslide of celebrities. I took a train trip to Wisconsin, where different parts of my life came full circle as an ex girlfriend turned friend gave me a crash tour of the town's resources and character in the few days I was there and I got to the root of a conflict with my former alter-ego, reformed supervillain Henry Alarmclock. Was I going to become an interdimensional reverend after all or open a bookstore, or was the whole world hanging on another principle? And that's just a thumbnail view. This book is available in three forms at Amazon.com. Love it or hate it. Please leave a review/thanks!
