Mated in the Mafia #1

Omega for the Mafia Boss

Rate this book
Forced marriages usually aren't fated. Except for those that are...

As the eldest alpha in his family, Andro is expected to take over control of the family when his father retires as the patriarch. But before that can happen, tradition dictates that Andro must be mated. And not just mated, but married. Only problem is that Andro has zero interest in taking a mate...or husband.

Joseph is the youngest son of the Santoro family...and the only omega. He's treated like dirt but he dutifully manages the books and does what his father asks of him--legal or otherwise.

When Andro gets the bright idea to kidnap the mistreated Joey Santoro and force him to become his mate, he has no idea what that could possibly lead to. Both of their lives are changed forever...and their priorities quickly shift away from the families they were raised in to the family they are raising together.

Omega for the Mafia Boss is the first Mated in the Mafia book by best-selling authors Jena Wade and Aria Grace. This duo creates a sweet and sexy world of men who make babies despite the drama surrounding them. If you love knotty fun, protective alphas, and witty banter, grab your copy today.

I felt like I was reading a book that referenced the real book which was off page. New couple sex scenes were off page. Seriously injured alpha telling omega spouse that he killed omega’s villainous brother-off page. Alpha healed up off page with one mention. Visit to the doctor to confirm a pregnancy was off page as was the announcement to the family. I was bemused while reading and wondering what was on page? Not much, just some day to day life of the omega spouse hanging around the mansion waiting for his alpha to come home, while forming a friendship with a member of the omega harem that services this crime family.
A male harem was a new one for me in the alpha omega world. It, too, was only referred to off page and never shown by the time I left.
Extremely lackluster writing from authors who should know better. Definitely do not recommend. DNF 67%

Overall, just a book you ended up adding to your gr goal and never look back.

Sometimes I surprise myself with how fast I read (despite not having read books in a very long time).

It was okay but I definitely read better.
I loved the idea of an arranged marriage but honestly it had no deepness at all. It went on too fast, which made everything feel kind off of.
Not sure if i will read the next books.
I will give this book generous 3 stars but it was more around 2,5.

The book was great! There is a significant gap of MM omegaverse and mafia for some reason, so I’m excited for this series.

This is instalovey, possessive, and all the other good stuff in general that makes it a great popcorn read. Joey had those sad omega vibes and Andro was the good possessive alpha. There were a few sex scenes and enough side characters being introduced that I’m hyped for the next book.

It’s not super detailed on crime bits or gritty, but honestly that’s not what I was looking for when picking up this book. If you are wanting something that’s more dark or super serious about the organized crime aspect of mafia, you’re not going to find it here.

It also had some moments/tropes that only work in this sort of instalove/not too serious format so it was great for me lol. If you love the “runs away and falls in a ditch (metaphorically)” trope, definitely pick this up. Overall, a short read that kept my attention all the way through with stuff I liked!

I had a hard time rating this one. I've rated much better books 3* so it feels too generous, but 2* feels too harsh. Maybe 2.5*.

Overall, it's fine. The plot is what you'd expect for a Mafia based story, with a sprinkle of Alpha/ Omega. The ABO element isn't all that prolific, with the only purpose of including it seemingly to be for the mpreg.

The characters were likeable, although written without much depth. In terms of what we see in the story, a lot of it is mentioned but not shown directly. We're told that someone is shot, but we don't see it. We're told that revenge was enacted, but again, we don't get to see it. It feels lazy, like the authors couldn't be bothered to write their own book.

Mafia Omegaverse

Good, low angst omegaverse mafia story, which I haven’t read before (and ya girl loves omegaverse!).

I’m interested to see what happens with Louie and Connor in the next book.

For a moment there I struggled to remember what this one was about. Read for a group challenge. Nice and short, wrapped up with a baby bow. This was essentially, alpha needs to get married, kidnap the enemy omega. Said omega is okay with kidnapping and has a crush. I started losing interest with the miscommunication, leaving safety and obvious kidnapping.

One and a half stars. 🥱

I find it hard to believe that it took two people to write this since it reads like a first draft (content-wise).

I'm also disappointed that this was insta-love. From the cover and premise, one might expect a darker, perhaps enemies-to-lovers-type relationship, which is not what this is at all.

Co-authored by two authors that had resulted in two DNFs each for me on previous reads, I didn’t have high expectations. What I did have were the hopes of an easy read, and this was definitely that.

Pretty fast-paced, light in details & low in angst, this was a breeze to read. If you want plot & well developed characters, this isn’t what you want.

Other than the old trope, there were no speed bumps in this book. And even that scenario gets resolved very quickly.

I’ll likely continue with the series, as this was a nice palate cleanser.

This was a quick and entertaining read. Despite this, I wish the story had been longer so we could learn more about the major characters and to flesh out the mafia universe. Considering this is a trilogy, I assume some of those elements will be addressed. Throughout the book, the pace was consistent, making it enjoyable to read. This was a great book until the anticlimactic ending left me feeling that the author missed out on the opportunity to really engage the mafia lifestyle.

This is the type of book I like to read when I want to read something light. For the most part I liked this book up until we got to the Big Misunderstanding. This is my least favorite trope. I just don’t understand why Joey just couldn’t confront Andro about what he heard. But alas no there has to be drama that could have been avoided. Overall, the story was okay and I’m interested in the next book in the series so it wasn’t a total loss.

I really dislike Mafia books and normally don't read them. I guess when you add omegaverse in the mix, I do?
I wish I didn't read it though.
THIS BOOK SUCKS
I don't want to be mean but wow, this book infuriated me.

Where do I even start?

I like when omegaverse books are critical of society and show how horrible it is when one gender gets treated worse.
Of course this book shows how bad omegas are treated and it is something good? The authors took some horribe patriarchal views and acted as if they were positive. Wow just wow.

The alpha Andro was such a fucking dick. Ew, how could you love a criminal like that? I don't get Mafia romance. I don't care if my significant other is obsessed with me and would burn the world down for me *eye roll*, if they are horrible to other people, get the fuck away from me.
I hated him from the beginning, don't care if he is a great partner (he is not) or father, he is a horrible person, period.
I had hoped Joey was better, nope he has no real issues with the crimes. Spineless and annoying.

OF COURSE the Alpha has so much experience, lots of one night stands and the sweet submissive Omega is a virgin. I fucking hate this shit. It gets better though, the alpha's have such a high sex drive, higher than the omegas, that they keep Omega Harems. Joey just was hoping that he could have enough sex with his alpha that he didn't need to use the Harem, he would understood it though.
It's sounds like, when the woman can't satisfy her man enough, it's her fault that he cheats.
Do these authors hear themselves??? I have to remember their names, so I never read a book by them again!!

When they have sex though? Of course it's rapey, let's just shove your dick right into him without prep.
Sentences like "why are you so tight you feel like a fucking virgin", like it's implying he gets looser? Another page out of the "fucking stupid shit some men say to women" book.

I couldn't read the book without looking like I smelled something bad.
If it wasn't obvious, I don't not recommend this book.

Andro & Joey
Rating: 3.1 ⭐

- Mafia
- Morally Grey Characters
- MPREG
- Kidnapping
- Omegaverse

This was a quick and fun read. I would say it's more mafia lite and the author could've really engaged in the mafia lifestyle but only glazed over it. With the number of things happening in this, I wish it was longer to not feel rushed and to flesh out the universe/characters more. I liked that the MC's have been eyeing each other for years before they actually get together in Andro's unplanned scheme to get his father off his back. This will be a trilogy I believe, with a new couple in each book since the next couple was introduced and shown a lot in this one.

"The Omega verse is a theme that I really like, especially when it's mixed with the mafia, which was interesting. The enemies to lovers theme is one of my favourite genres, and it reads very quickly. I hope to be able to read the following books soon."

its a good read, fast pacing and simple. we have a common plot here but the good think is: the author wrote mature characters! so yes, Joey is a little too innocent and everything is very rushed but it's not annoying or superficial.

Awwww this book was so freaking cute. I absolutely hated Joey’s family, but I loved how Andro kidnapped him, married him, and somehow they fell so seamlessly for each other. It’s that kind of romance that’s just easy, an easy love that feels natural and adorable.

Andro completely lost his mind when Joey disappeared and honestly, it was the cutest thing ever. They both fell so fast for one another and it just worked. It’s simple, sweet, and made me smile the whole way through.

3.5 stars!

I actually liked this. It’s was insta love and fast paced. Everything happened so quickly. I finished it in a little over an hour it felt like. I liked the characters. I’m not the biggest fan of the omega harem living in their house or the omega harem in general. Anything with harem is not for me. I’m just glad there was no cheating, sharing or other omega drama.

I’ll most likely read the next one.

I wasn't sure how this story was going to go in the beginning but I soon found myself completely engrossed. I'm so looking forward to Connor and Louie's story now.

The start of the Mated in the Mafia series so make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way Andro is the oldest in his family he is expected to take over the family business when is father retires but as per tradition he needs to be mated also married, mated he can handle but he never wanted to be married and when his father tells him that he will pick someone for him that he knows would make good mate. Joey is the youngest son of a family also an omega treated like a slave, abused physically/mentally daily by his father, his brothers and he dreams of escaping not only his family but the abuse wanting peace. So when these two meet at the gala instantly Andro knows he wants to marry Joey so he does what any mafia man would do kidnaps him and strikes a deal with him agreeing to protect him taking him away from his abusive family if he will marry him in return but when Joey ends up pregnant he is scared that Andro will send him away especially after he overhears part of a conversation he decides to run but will he husband come for him especially knowing he is pregnant, will his family come for him to make him their slave again, and can they find something more than an agreement between them will the baby bring them closer?

This was book 1 in the "Mated in the Mafia" series. As the eldest alpha in his family, Andro is expected to take over control of the family when his father retires as the patriarch. But before that can happen, tradition dictates that Andro must be mated, but married. Android has a problem he doesn't want to get married but he wants to lead the family so when his father tells him that he will pick someone him so he tells him he has someone in mind. Joseph "Joey" Santoro is the youngest son of the family he is also an omega and he is treated like a slave he is also beaten regularly by his father and his brothers. When Andro spots Joey at a gala he knows he wants to marry him so what does he do he kidnaps Joey and they make a deal he will protect him and get him away from his abusive family. I liked both of these characters and this book although I wished it was more mafia goodness in it. When Joey get pregnant he is scared that he will be sent away and when he overheats part of a conversation he run away. I wanted more backstory on these two but I was glad that Joey was able to make a friend although I thought he was the one leaking info. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

'Today was all about marrying the sexiest alpha I’d ever met and wondering how I could possibly make him fall for me as completely as I’d fallen for him so many years ago.'

'It was my promise to him. No matter what happened with his family or mine, I would be his until I took my very last breath.'

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Andro and Joey. Opposing mafia families, but the two of them were really sweet together and had great chemistry. I liked the supporting characters. I'm so happy the next book will be Connor and Louie's. I also hope Nil gets one too because I was drawn to him right from his introduction.

There was one part of the story I didn't like- all stemming from miscommunication. One character overhears part of a conversation and makes assumptions instead of discussing it. The other makes a decision for the other rather than discussing the looming danger. Even if the plan didn't change, the other character knowing the danger is safer than being in the dark, right? Two adults- just have a conversation! But it added a layer of suspense and lead to the final confrontation, so I didn't hang on it too much.

Excited for more in this series. 5 stars.
