In this book we see what happens when the vow For Richer and For Poorer is put to the test. While I was reading the book at first I was upset with Georgia because I felt she was going hard over to me what seemed not to be that serious. Yes she was used to her husband providing for her financially so when he lost his job it was something she had to get used to moving out of their house and staying with his parents; however, her behavior and the way she was treating him and his parents appearing to be ungrateful was overboard.

It wasn't until later on in the book that we find out the root cause for her lashing out and disregard for others that it started to make sense. I was happy that she was able to get the help that she needed for her mental state and that Reginald was patient enough not to leave her during her struggles that he was unaware of. Not only did this book shed light on how people react through financial hardships but it also showed how if you put your trust and faith in God he will show up for you and put the right people in your life.

I enjoyed how the story was written and the way it came together and I was happy that Georgia was able to have a better relationship with her mother as well through it all.

My Thoughts:

This was my favorite of the three series in What Did You Vow that dealt so well with the rich and the poor. It was hard to see how Georgia treated her husband, Reginald, but as you read, you will understand why she acted the way she did. It was good that Georgia finally listened to her friend and got the help she needed with her issues. Yes, Georgia needed therapy, and it was so good when she finally realized she needed help with how she acted. Had a lot of this come from the way she had been raised as a child after her father died? This story is very thought-provoking in how it all comes out for this couple. Now, I am left wondering if many of us need help in how our world is going, especially in the title 'For Richer and For Poorer: What Did You Vow?' The author did an excellent job of bringing the readers a good read that many can relate to.

wow

We don’t know how our past will affect our present until we get to a cross road dealing with struggles and trials.

This book is therapy on his own. It will allow you to think about your life and also things that you are going through, one big lesson for me, is that Allow yourself to feel, but don’t remain in it.
you need to allow God to give you directions on how to overcome your feelings. This book is highly recommended, even though it’s fiction. It felt like a sermon /ministration, it felt like redemption, motivation and healing. Something I needed, that I didn’t know I needed. It’s a 5 star read for me

Mental Health Awareness

Oh wow, that was intense! “For Richer & Poorer: What Did You Vow” was an excellent read bring awareness to the plight of women suffer from another form of mental health challenge: postpartum depression and or postpartum rage. Honestly, I’ve wasn’t aware of the latter either. Nonetheless, Georgia had a phenomenal support system especially in her husband Reginald & best friend Quida (and family) throughout her mental health journey to a healthier life and self awareness! 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽😊‼️

Remember To Understand What Is Important

Lakisha what a great read. I found myself checking myself because I am quick to give up. This read is so healing and it makes me realize what is important and why. Georgia fit the mold of many women. I do think if we don't deal with our childhood issues they will come back to haunt us in our adult life. I love Reginald faith in God. He was such a positive man. Letting God lead will have you in a much better place. I know its not always easy but oh my what peace we will have if we hold on through the fire.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

For Richer and For Poorer: What Did You Vow

I enjoyed this book better than the last two. Lakisha in my opinion out did herself with this book. I didn't know what postpartum depression would do if it wasn't treated. Loved the fact that Georgia was able to get the help she needed even though it took some time for her to admit she needed help. Hope that this is not the last book in this series. Lakisha, continue using what Lord has blessed you with. Love all your books.

WOW

I cried to nearly every chapter in this book. Another great one and I do not want to give out any spoilers to anyone that has not read the book yet but all I will say is; this is definitely an eye opener. It gives you a lot to think about in regards to bottling up our emotions and how our past can sometimes come back to haunt us in the present if we do not take care of it properly. Absolutely loved the book and definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great story

Thank you for allowing God to use you to tell such a powerful story. Often people forget the vows they make and when the bad comes, they are ready to run to divorce court. Thank you for showing how a true man of God doing his best to be faithful to God with or without his wife. It is truly admirable and gives me hope that there are men of Regional d's character in the world somewhere. Can't wait to read the next book, In sickness and in health.

Wow….

This was a great one to close out this series. Some are groomed for marriage, some want to be married for financial security. What ever the reasons, understand what the vows mean. It doesn’t matter if it’s the traditional bows, or written from you heart. Make sure you understand and have the capacity to honor the.

God’s A Keeper

I highly recommend this book. Sometimes, we can't see the blessing for being ungrateful. We have to be truthful with ourselves when we don't feel like ourselves. Lakisha, you did it again. Love all your writings. You have never disappointed me.
Keep allowing God to use you to help others through your books.

Love this series

I love the way the author presents the true struggles wenas disciples deal with...it's not always a pretty picture and perfectly worded. I love the honest depiction of the struggle to stay focused and remember God's word and that it's okay to be angry for the circumstances life sends your way. The key is not to stay there.

Eye Opening

This book will make you open your eyes to how you qualify what you value. It provides hope for a second chance, with the realistic consequences of our past actions. I even learned about a new medical condition that can skew and affect a woman's perspective! The nuggets in this fictional tale and worthy for real life application!

God has a way of blessing us. Inspite of our sin.

Mental health is a very present problem in our society However most of the time we just ignore it and do nothing about it. This Author addresses the situation in such a way that it shows that healing is possible If we just acknowledge the problem. I'm grateful for her doing that 😂

I thank God for Ms. Lakisha’s gift in conveying Gods promises through the face of real life experiences. This book specifically coveys that we are never to far from Gods grace and mercy. Reginald and Georgia

This book was amazing. The depiction of love through the worse parts of our life is truly God sent! I love the way the author uses in depth sermons and music to help paint the picture of what the characters are going through. If you haven’t already please get the other books in this series. You won’t be disappointed

Good Read

Ms. Lakisha I really enjoy this book. It spoke to a host of problems but the most important part it let us know that getting help is really okay. I see a Therapist. We have to seek out the help we need to better ourselves and get on track with God’s plans for us.

Keep up the great work, Ms. Lakisha!!! May God bless you and your family, friend, and fans.

Poorer

Part 3 was the best of the series. I found it to be more relatable. It's hard to get help when you don't think you need it. But what I loved the most was forgiveness and grace because many would have given up.

Love, Marriage and Forgiveness

A great story of love, marriage and forgiveness. It left me with the thought that with God's redeeming grace, we can make it through anything. It's never too late for a fresh start that often starts with a forgiving spirit.

I’ve read all three books in this series and I loved them all but this one is my favorite. I’ve learned so much especially to talk back to the negative thoughts. Excellent writing Ms. Johnson and a wonderful ministry.

Easy read

So far I am learning a lot about how some people may view the vows in which they take on their wedding day. I would not have think to view vows in the manner in which it has been depicked in these first 3 books. What a way to brake down that common vow.
