Condemned to a life of material harvesting in an ancient alien megastructure, Gideon Pike won't rest until he's found his way out from under the thumb of the Whelan Megacorp. His new home, an artifact of immense power, hangs suspended over a blackhole, and has been known to grant individuals strange abilities. Rumor has it this structure is responsible for most of mankind's technological advances over the last hundred and fifty years.Gideon must learn what it means to climb the Tower and lay claim to the power he needs to free himself. Deciding who to trust along the way might be the hardest part. A story of unconventional romance, intense action, and gritty sci-fi adventure.
Began gaming at the age of 8 and explored a lot of different ways to play table top. When I got older, I experimented with MMOs and found a few I really liked. My first job was mowing lawns as a young teen, and I worked to use the money to pay for fantasy series like DragonLance, Dark Sun, and Forgotten Realms. As soon as I discovered LitRPG I knew I wanted to incorporate it into my writing.
Aside from taking care of my sons as a single father, writing is what I love to do most. I hope you all enjoy my work.
The main character is bland rather than stoic. The group comes off as flat and one dimensional. The tower is boring, it plays like a gamer running off a cheat guide. When the book ended I didn't even realize it has happened.
Singularity Tower is a tower climbing LitRPG. I tend to like these kinds of stories, and this one is no exception. I generally like these, because each floor is so unique, and the story is constantly changing, because the climbers have to adapt to each new floor, this keeps the story interesting and fresh. If you're a tower climbing fan, this one should suit just fine. As far as it being scifi, I'm not so sure about that part, though there are pieces that qualify, for the most part, the story as a whole is *not* a scifi story, so just be aware if you're picking it up because of the scifi reference in the description. On the whole though, I did like the story, and would certainly read more given the opportunity.
Wasn’t a fan personally of the mech/cyborg aesthetic, so take this with a grain of salt. The story was fine, there is an overarching narrative that seems to hint at a longer series. The MC was also fairly weak as characters go, felt the backstories was drooled out too slow, I had already formed an opinion of him before it got the more interesting aspects. The way the tower/dungeon magic melded with the scifi didn’t really feel that great. Best part of it is definitely the other characters, great colorful side characters, suffers a bit from the only reoccurring characters are the mc’s ‘group’(only two official, but it's obvious to any reader) and the antagonist. This is always a hole this genre falls into and makes the world feel flat. Listened to the audiobook, best way to consume these scifi ones, the different voices adds a lot to the distinction between fmc's.
This was a really good opening to a new sci-fi haremlit story.
The MC is a falsely convicted felon accused of terroristic attacks. What he really is, is a scapegoat for a megacorp in the galaxy. Sent to a prison that's basically a tower climbing dungeon, he's set up to fail. But fail he does not, despite having brand new cybernetic limbs on his right side.
The MC ends up with two harem members by the end of this book, and they are solid starters. The helpful technical wiz and the crazy wild doctor. There are 3 others in the crew, but none are romantic partners at this point.
The action flows quickly, and the story has a strong plot. The only downside is the chapter headers, which are really hard on the eyes in an e-book using white letters on a black background.
I honestly can’t think of any negatives for this book. I loved the characters, the world building, and the romance. I thought each of the characters was well built and the action was exciting and kept me riveted. The action prose was a stand out for me, each of the sequences was well explained and I had a firm mental picture of what was happening throughout the whole book. Harder to write than it sounds I think.
I’m looking forward to reading more interactions between Gideon and team with the other climbers of the tower.
NOT an Isekai! No stupid “might makes right” cultivation! No lame MC! And most refreshing of all, an author who writes like they have irl relationship experience! This book is well written, very few typos or errors. The pacing of the story is good. The universe is original and well developed. Can’t wait for the next installment!
A wonderfully entertaining science fiction story with a good mix of hard and soft sci-fi elements!!! I really enjoyed the slow build of all aspects of this story and look forward to.where this series will go!!!!
Excellent science fiction, feeling the sex to a minimum but smouldering in the background. But I hate cliffhanger's especially with no information of a continuance.
An emotional rollercoaster in the best way possible! The story is both heartwarming and heartbreaking, with beautifully crafted characters. The writing flows so effortlessly, making it a joy to read. I felt completely immersed in the world the author created. Highly recommended!
A fun Sci fi harem story. Takes a bit to get to the explicit scenes, but well worth the wait. Does the Taciturn protagonist thing without making them a huge jerk.
