A different angle on the typical workplace romance and I loved it. Walker and Oakley were 100% insta-lust at it’s finest, yet their determination to make everything work was heartwarming.
The four women of KAW are a dynamic force that I’m excited to learn more about. Rhian did a great job building up a foundation for the rest of the series. I can’t wait to see if it’s going to continue with Walker and Oakley next or if we will learn more about some of the other characters brought to life in Hot Stuff.
This story is impowering for women and Walker’s character and mindset was swoon worthy. Great read for an insta-lust, workplace romance with a strong FMC.

New series from Rhian Cahill, for the win!

Rhian Cahill has a whole new series in a whole new world & it's delightful! She's writing in first person (I personally don't care if 1st or 3rd if the story is good and well written & this one definitely is!).

Oakley is an amazing heroine and Walker is perfect for her as she is for him! Wonderful insta-love story!

Love what KAW stands for!

Can't wait for the next book!

I loved this book!

This is a first book from the author for me and I was lucky enough to be sent the Arc and when I say I was lucky, I truly am because I ate this book up!!!!

I knew nothing about the book and just dove in and I was gripped from the first page!! The first line!

The MMC is Walker, he’s a hockey player in the middle of a cross roads, in his personal life and his professional one. He’s on a pre-arranged photoshoot when from behind the bright lights walks a woman who almost knocks him over. Can’t say knocks his pants off, because those are already off and he quickly tries to reign in some modesty. Read it, you’ll get it, so good!
The FMC Oakley is a no nonsense business women, she’s quip as a whip, she’s smart, hard working and trusts her gut, it’s never let her down, right now it’s screaming at her that the naked man in front of her is not only good for her business proposition but her life too.

I don’t want to say too much about the plot as I honestly feel like it needs to be read or it will spoil it. The plot is based on both a professional and personal relationship with the MMC and FMC, it’s about crossroads in life, trusting your gut and when the time is right, it’s just right.

I loved both the main characters, they were both strong but supportive and uplifting for themselves and each other when needed. This was an insta-attraction/love trope and I am here for it because with these characters it just worked.
Everything about the development of the characters, the story, the fast pace was just flawless.

This was a fast paced book, twists, turns, betrayal, damage control, it had it all. I loved the fast paced nature of the whole book but at no point was I ever confused, this book was just gripping. I loved the insta connection, the trust and just the general feel of, when you know, you know.

This book ends of a bit of a cliffhanger, not so much the story, more you’re so invested you want to know more, some side characters drama slipped seamlessly in. So although it’s not a cliffhanger as such, I will definitely be looking out for another book so I get more fill.

Honestly it’s a great book, fantastic writing and I read it in a couple of hours, I couldn’t put it down.

5⭐️3🌶️

I was sent this Arc from The Next Step PR, this is an honest, personal review

One of the best hockey romance/insta-love stories I’ve ever read! There is substance to this story! You learn so much about Walker & Oakley, backstory, friends, family all of it. This couple made me smile, they had such wonderful chemistry from the very beginning! The photo shoot where they meet…EPIC! the secondary characters are every bit as entertaining & I can’t wait for their stories! Lastly, this author has done her research! As a hockey fan, I think she has done very well, one of the best stories she has written, bar none! This was a hot, sexy, steamy page turner with one hell of a twist at the end! Enjoy!

4.25 stars. Walker, the male lead, has just had confirmed that he will not be able to return to playing professional ice hockey when he “meets” Oakley, the female lead, as his sponsor’s photo shoot, literally with his pants down. Oakley knows exactly who he is and is offering him new opportunities, in lieu of his playing career. The attraction between them is strong and mutual, and they’re both determined to make a relationship AND career work together.

This story is dual POV, well written and edited, and a fast-paced, contemporary, erotic, billionaire, sports romance that felt very close to a fated mates tale. This story kicked off strong and never stopped moving. I felt like there was constantly something happening and it was always important to the characters’ lives and relationship. I enjoyed the sheer mental strength Oakley had and her determination to get ALL the things she wanted in life. I enjoyed Walker’s enthusiasm and his willingness to be part of an adventure. I particularly appreciated that he wasn’t threatened by Oakley’s focus, and happily joined the goal pursuit. I enjoyed their steamy intimate scenes, and laughed some of their strange/awkward moments. I enjoyed the highly integrated secondary characters and the set up for future stories by the author.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

I typically don’t enjoy first person POV, but Ms. Cahill sucked me in immediately. Walker and Oakley were AWESOME and I can’t wait for more. The premise for a new NHL franchise was great and their journey to make it a success was fun.

Walker and Oakley’s story in Hot Stuff by Rhian Cahill, book one in the Hot as Puck series, is a wonderful, sizzling, insta-attraction book taking place in the world of hockey. Walker is a professional hockey player, in the middle of a crossroads in both his personal and professional lives. Oakley is a beautiful, knowledgeable, no nonsense business women; smart, hard working, deal maker, who knocks him over. Oakley offers Walker a solution to all of his problems during a meeting where they both feel an unbelievable connection; magnetic attraction and electrifying chemistry that sets the sheets aflame. This was a fast paced book with twists, turns, betrayal, damage control, trusting your gut and knowing when the time is right, it is right. This story ends on kind of a cliffhanger, outside of this story, making you invested in wanting to know more, and anxious for the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I’ve never read Rhian Cahill before but this was sooo good!
This was an instalove with a lot of heart and soul. Walker and Oakley jumped from the pages and grabbed my attention with both hands and just didn’t let go.
Spicy and full of passion but without the need to be graphic. There’s a lot happening in a short time frame and you feel the hectic energy these characters exude, the love they shared and the excitement for the new challenges they’re taking on. A few unexpected twists, a story that keeps adding mesmerising characters and an ending that sells book two, I just can’t wait.

Thank you to the author and The Next Step PR.

This was just… wow. Not for me.

Insta love to a whole other level.

Then there’s every trope in the book thrown into one story.

I skimmed the last few chapters just to solidify my star rating.

I don’t understand the reviews on this one at all.

What can I say about Hot Stuff? If you love hockey and insta love stories this is definitely the book for you!! A fairly quick read with sexy times that are sure to set you on fire, but will also have you rooting for MMC, Walker and MFC, Oakley. These two are a hoot and you can’t help but have a soft spot for them.

Walker Alcott is a pro hockey player who is contemplating retirement after suffering knee and head injuries. The knees, not so bad but a bump on the head that has left him with a bit of a loss of peripheral vision. The thought of retirement a “BIG” unknown so in the meantime he is working as a model to demo men’s athletic wear to fill his time. With time on his hands he is contemplating what comes next after retiring. Will he continue to be involved with hockey? One thing he will for sure get squared away is his ex who continues to try to keep her claws in his life. It’s during the photoshoot that Walter will meet Oakley James.

Oakley is a strong, independent, and focused woman who owns the athletic wear company. She has also just purchased with three of her friends a newly introduced to the NHL men’s hockey team. The four women will own and operate the ins and outs of the new team. First thing Oakley needs to find is a head coach for the new team. Was meeting Oakley fate or coincidental? To Walker’s surprise, Oakley up and offered him the head coach job for her team. In a bit of disbelief he ultimately accepted the coaching job.

It didn’t take long for Walker to realize that immediately gobsmacked with Oakley. Needless to say, the feeling was mutual for Oakley too!! And talk about chemistry… they couldn’t keep their hands off each other!! But the two of them were also just so perfect together too, working as a team as things began to get complicated.

Yet will Walker and Oakley weather the storm and find happiness?

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. It is the first book by Rhian Cahill I have read and it will keep me coming back for more.

Oakley James is a badass in the corporate world with her three best friends and they are now looking to take over the hockey world, but they need the perfect coach. That perfect coach happens to be Walker Alcott, a NHL player with his career in limbo. Oakley has Walker set up to be the face of her brand’s, Rouge, new fashion line and sets her plan in motion. She has all the info she needs about Walker to convince him that becoming a head coach of the newest NHL expansion team is for him. Girl hired a PI!

Walker, with his new found freedom is pretty excited about the possibility of leading a team in the NHL from behind the bench. He is also thrilled at the idea of being able to spend more time with Oakley,in and out of the rink. After their very interesting first meeting and conversation about the coaching position, Walker is hooked on Oakley. Calling her “His biggest challenge. Possibly his greatest reward too.”

After a few slight issues, Walker is even willing to give up hockey in general, because being with Oakley feels more right than hockey ever did. Oakley and Walker become an extremely strong team ready to take on anything. Their simplicity and willingness to always hear the other out is refreshing to see. The drama, if you can even call it that, in this book comes from outside sources and Oakley and Walker are more than capable of handling them with relative ease.

I look forward at what is next to come in the world of the Baton Rouge Rogues. It’s been a fun start so far and I definitely recommend this book to others!

💙🏒ARC Review🏒💙

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Hot Stuff is the first book in the series and it also my first of this author. Let me say that Walker is 🥵. Walker is a professional hockey player in the middle of a huge cross roads in his personal like and professional one. He meets Oakley who is a baddass business women who is smart, hard working. Oakley offers Walker a solution to his problems and during that they both feel an unbelievable connection. I loved both of the main characters they wrestled both strong and supportive for themselves and each other. It is a instalove trope so it may not be for everyone. The book also ends on a cliffhanger but Our main characters story does end happily. I can’t wait to see what happens in this series and if they are able to complete everything they are working for.
Also how can you not love Walker when he says this like this.

“I won’t underestimate you, don’t underestimate me”

“I love your confidence. I wish I had it.”

Walker grins. “Remember telling me you like a challenge.? I nod. “Well, so do I, and I think you’re going to be my biggest challenge. Possibly my greatest reward too.”

Also, Go ROUGE!💙❤️💛
Thank NextstepPr and Rhian Cahill for the ARC.

*Hot Stuff* by Rhian Cahill
Hot as Puck #1

Spice Level: 🌶🌶🌶
Nothing super spicy, but we get about 4 scenes with chapters 12-13 being the spiciest.

Walker and Oakley meet when he’s doing a photo shoot for a clothing brand that she owns. He’s a famous hockey player who’s about to retire because of an injury. She’s a billionaire starting a hockey team and wants him to be the head coach. They immediately start hooking up. They fall in love and like, three days later they are all freaking in and engaged. It’s instant love at its finest.

It’s an interesting read. I’m not a big instant love fan, so I didn’t connect with this book very much, and I didn’t feel like I connected with the characters, but overall, it’s a sweet read. At 90% in, they throw an unexpected guardianship thing into the mix, which made me think it was a cliffhanger book, but it’s not. I thought it would also maybe cause a third act break up, but Oakley’s like, “I’m all in. Of course I’m always going to be there for you,” and I’m like… you’ve known him for five days. But they love each other very, very much. There’s a little bit of spice—we get about four scenes. Nothing too crazy, but a nice sweet read!

This was my first book by Rhian Cahill and I'm glad I was chosen for the ARC read. The whole book is fast paced starting with page 1. Rhian definitely knows how to hook a reader right out the gate! As I said, the entire book is very fast paced, so if you prefer a slow burn, this may not be your cup of tea. For me, the speed made me read the book at lightning speed because there weren't any slow or dragged out parts.

The MMC, Walker is intense, hoott and funny. I adore the FMC, Oakley, because she is a strong, confident woman whose wit and sass keeps all men in check. The chemistry between the two is delicious but honestly, my favorite part about their relationship is the level of support and trust they have for each other. Both characters are going through huge life changes and they tackle each curveball and setback as a team. All of the supporting characters are really well done as well. They all weave into the plot super well and are just as interesting as the main characters.

This book will definitely keep you on your toes with lots of spice and plot twists. I can't wait for book 2 :D

Walker Alcott's career as a professional hockey player came to such an abrupt end, he didn't really have time to consider what he might want to do after his playing days were over. While on a photo shoot for Rogue Sportswear, Oakley James, the CEO, walks in with an opporunity of a lifetime. Before things become official on the dotted line, Walker and Oakley act on a mutual attraction for one another, and before either of them can blink, both have been struck with Cupid's arrow. He's a big protective teddy bear, and she's strong, independent businesswomen who isn't afraid to go after what she wants. Their playful banter mixed with heartfelt feelings make this a fun read. A cutthroat ex and a spoiled team owner create turmoil for the couple, but our couple works beautifully together to beat the "bad guys" at their own game.
The author has assembled a great cast for this series. I loved Walker and Oakley, and look forward to the other books in the series!

This the 1st in the Hot as Puck Series with a superstar hockey player, Walker who finds himself at a crossroad with no way to continue playing. When he gets to the photo shoot for Rogue Sportswear his entire life and purpose takes him on a journey with their CEO Oakley when she finds him with his pants down, haha! With their instant connection life changing decisions are made overnight. Oakley and her 3 friends, KAW have accomplished their goal of becoming owners of the new Professional Hockey Team with a mission to build their team. Walker has a past that will not leave him and when he receives an unexpected package their lives continue to change. Oakley and Walker are there supporting one another each situation they are faced with and start their search for players.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Walker and Oakley’s story.
Walker is a professional NHL player, when a suffers a career ending injury. Oakley and her best friends who has worked hard to build their company to where it is now, but they are intent on going bigger to owning the next NHL team, but they need a head coach, and Walker is approached. There is an instant attraction between Walker and Oakley, and their chemistry is undeniable.
This is a well written story which had drama, humor, witty banter, friendships, romance, action, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Walker has dedicated his life to playing hockey until an injury ended his career and he isn’t certain where he goes from here. When he meets Oakley, the sparks fly, and he wants so much more than the career opportunity she is offering him.

Oakley and her best friends/business partners have dreams for the future, and they believe that Walker is the man who can help them achieve them. When she approached him, it was to offer him a job but the more time she spends with him she realizes that would never be enough.

The characters of Walker and Oakley draw you in and their story includes a great combination of romance, drama and surprises that are sure to entertain. This is a great start to a new series that leaves you wanting more.

Oh boy is this a great start to a new series! Talk about girl power! Oakley and her close friends have worked their butts off to build their company. Now they are going bigger…as in owning the next NHL team big. Before their big announcement they need a head coach. Walker is a professional hockey player who was hurt while playing. Hurt so bad that he is being forced to retire. When Oakley and Walker start working together it’s instant crazy chemistry and a connection that can’t be denied. Wow if this wasn’t insta love I don’t know what is. This was a book about falling in love, starting a new adventure and had a lot of extra drama thrown in for entertainment. This was a great introduction to a new series with promise. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this series grows. Every character in this book added so much to the story. They all had large than life personalities and I’m really looking forward to seeing what they bring to each book. Bring on book two.

This story follows Walker a hockey player that becomes a coach and Oakley his boss. Walker is a golden retriever who is quite mischievous and Oakley is boss girl that doesn't like being vulnerable. I loved how fast pace this read was but at the same time slow. The fact that it was quite fast paced didn't change the sizzling chemistry felt between the two characters. I love their dynamic especially how walker always took care of her and never made her over think things. The spice was chefs kiss. I definitely recommend

This book? This book is one you CAN NOT miss.

The main characters are nothing less than magic. The instant recognizing of a soul mate, the emotional dialogue the humor...................so typical of a Rhian Cahill release.

I can't wait to read the next book in this new series. May have been a long time since she's had new release but trust me, Rhian is back giving us another spectacular reading adventure. I highly recommend you check it out,.

Hot Stuff is the first book in her new Hot As Puck series and it was a smokin’ way to start off the series. This book had it all; a meet-unusual (can’t call it cute but it was something), two driven, intelligent main characters, fabulous secondary characters, an intricate plot, and best of all no big blowup leading to a “break-up” only for it to all be miraculously fixed in the last 10 pages. Seriously, Ms. Cahill gave readers an amazing first book in a series and a reason for readers to be salivating for the next one!

This author is new to me and after this, I am eager to dig into the next in the series. This is a sweet, insta-love hockey romance. I absolutely love the series story arc as it is based on 4 strong, smart and wealthy women. A good combo of emotion, laughs, spice and a few little twists. Great read.
