Second chance romance with surprise baby (Benny Boo is now three years old). College one-night hook-up results in pregnancy senior year of high school. Moving forward to senior year of college, things get interesting when once again Tiffany and Gray end up on the same campus. There are so many unknowns between them. The road is rocky until the little boy they share pulls everything together. He's bound for the NFL draft -- what will happen when he leaves?

It's your standard sports-related romance with angst and explicit sexual scenes. Overall, it was an average read with not enough relationship building and far too much for my preference of the non-stop sexual details.

I'm kind of surprised I managed to finish it. It wasn't bad... but it was kind of boring. I couldn't relate to Tiffany -she kind of got on my nerves- and Gray was kind of plain.

Grayson can't understand why the girl his friend Jackson's with is glaring at him with so much contempt. After all, she's the one who never gave him her number after the hot hookup they had 4 years ago. When he finds out the reason why she hates him? Let's just say he's completely surprised. But he's determined to step up and be there for his son (and Tiffany) in the way she didn't allow him to before. Will the chemistry that's still there be the way he gets her to realize how he really feels about her? Or is his soon to come new career going to be the big obstacle?

I love second chance romances, especially when the couple is as sweet and deserving of that second chance as Gray and Tiffany are. The way he woos her, bonds with Ben, and the way she is such an amazing mother - yep, I fell in love with them the way they fell for each other.

Grayson and Tiffany one giant misunderstanding, mishap, and outside forces that have kept them apart to lead them back to this moment and all Grayson has is confusion while Tiffany is full of anger. After one heated night in high school Tiffany is left with a shock and no way of getting in touch with Gray and Gray has no clue anything is going on but someone tells her otherwise and she writes him off as a deadbeat dad. Years later they run into each other and you can feel the hatred bleed off the pages when Tiffany sees Gray again and Gray has no clue why. After some meddling from friends things get out and Tiffany finds herself having to face Gray and decide if he is being honest about things, but being burned in the past leaves her highly skeptical. Once Gray found out about Ben he became this amazing man who wanted to be there for his son and nothing was going to stop him, but he also wanted to do it on Tiffany’s terms because he still had residual feelings for her. He stepped up was there for both of them even if Tiffany didn’t want that at first but when she started to see his sincerity she knew he was going to be amazing for Ben. Tiffany was a strong character, a fierce mama bear who would do anything to not only protect her child but to give him the best life she can and I understood her anger at Gray. She has every right to be upset and protective, yet when it came to her and Gray to me she constantly talked about him being the one to walk away when she was the one trying to do it several times. Gray time and time again was constantly trying to prove himself and I feel he did that in spades, I wish they could have confronted the person who lied to Tiffany but in the end it all worked the way it was suppose to. I can’t wait for what’s next.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a really sweet read. I binged it in one sitting!

I’m glad that we got the time jump so quickly in the beginning, I hate when the story is dragged out for a while before we get the pregnancy reveal.

I loved Grayson and Tiffany. They had great chemistry and I was rooting for them from the beginning. Tiffany is a great mum and so protective of Ben and only wants the best for him. Grayson really stepped up for his son and I loved reading their interactions. I also really adored Ben, I mean how could you not? I do wish there was an epilogue of them though so we could see how things turned out, it would have really tied up the book.

I didn’t realise some books from this series had already been released, but I’ll definitely be checking them out now. I’m very excited for the next book too, I adored Jackson in this one and can’t wait to read his story!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm pretty sure that I wasn't a fan of this book. I didn't really enjoy the plot, which is odd to me because the tropes are some of my favorites. I couldn't stand the fmc, Tiffany, she was overly angry about the situation and it just made her come off as immature, petulant and dramatic, when she really didn't need to be. The only obstacle of their current relationship was Tiffany herself, and the reason for the end to their previous relationship, to me, was never resolved. Overall, the whole story was just kind of flat to me. I did like...the mmc (I can't even remember his name, it's not even been 3 hours since I finished the book!) and mostly enjoyed their son Ben, but even he read as a background character to me, when he probably shouldn't have.

I did this book by audio, and while I enjoyed the male parts, the female narrator made audible breaths constantly, and it was annoying to listen to.

Lastly, I wish authors would quit writing "epilogues" about side characters. Just call it a sneak peak into your next book.

How do you go from hating someone for four years, only to realise that they were innocent of what you accused them all along?

Left as a single parent after a hookup, Tiffany has hated even the mere thought of Grayson Kilpatrick since she believes he knowingly left her to parent their son, Ben, on her own. When things turn out to be not as she first believed, and Ben & Gray get closer, the walls around her heart begin to crumble. But with Gray's future already decided, Tiffany's wondering if it would expand to include her.

Though there's clearly some backstory with Gray's sister, I felt the book moved along nicely and pretty well despite me not having the whole story. Gray & Tiffany clearly had chemistry. I haven't yet read the preceding book, but I liked Gray's character from the start. He understood how hurt and lost Tiffany must've felt four years prior, so he set about proving to her that he would always be there - both for her and Ben. Tiffany was a bit wary. She was protecting herself from heartache when all Gray tried to do was ensure that their future as a family was secured. I loved how she thought of Ben first, and made decisions that eventually allowed Gray and Ben to get accustomed to each other quickly.

My only takeaway is that I wish Gray would've had a chance to confront the person who'd put them in the adversarial position in the first place. Otherwise? I recommend this steamy, secret baby/enemies-to-lovers second chance romance. I found it hard to put down and finished it in one sitting.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Could be worse - RECOMMEND

It’s not good but it could be with better writing. It’s just not enough development of the right storylines and the introduction of way too many characters and the over explanations and constant reminders of details we already know. It’s also the unrealistic and unnecessary we can be together, no we can’t. The ending was awful and the Epilogue was a failed introduction to the next book which I have no desire to read. It does have some moments hence the 2 stars.
SEX SCENES - Yes. The first time they meet may have been the best one and then it’s really typical sex on repeat.

Brilliant. Different. Deeper.

This took the "surprise baby" trope and knocked it on its head. I loved the anger and tension in the beginning, melting slowing into trust and understanding through a steady diet of COMMUNICATION. The logical questions and curtailing of second-guessing was so incredibly refreshing, especially for a book like this.

Quick notes:
- Ben was cute as hell.
- Loved the almost awkward nature of their sexual interactions in the beginning. That felt more realistic to a high school hook up then some of the weird almost-BDSM style that other authors try to shove down our throats.
- Autumn was a stunning side character and I can't wait to see more of her.

I Loved it.!!
Another great read from Jerica Macmillan,Unrivaled is Gray and Tiffany's story.
This is a second chance, secret baby, enemies to lovers kind of Romance which we see teenage Tiffany become pregnant by a one night stand with Gray.
It was kind of a rebound thing for Tiffany as she had just found out that her long term Boyfriend had cheated on her.So at the party they were at she meets Gray and one thing leads to another and they have an incredible night together.
Unfortunately there is miscommunication and lies and so Gray doesn't recieve the news that Tiffany is pregnant so goes on with his life unaware he is a father.......Until 4 years later the past catches up to them both and the ugly truth all comes out.
But can Tiffany forgive Gray even though it wasn't his fault, and will Gray want to be a Dad now that the reality of the situation has come into the light.
It is obvious that the attraction between them is still there, but they are both unsure how they should act towards eachother.Ben is so adorable.
I really liked Gray and I felt so bad for him because he was left in the dark and you could see he is a good guy.He was so persisitant also and even though Tiffany was so cold towards him he kept his dignity and was very understanding and fair.
Tiffany is a good mother but is threatened by Gray wanting to be a part of Ben's life...but she can't deny that she hopes they can be a family and Gray will want to be a part of her life too.
I really enjoyed reading this story as always Jerica's writing is intoxicating and keeps you turning the pages.I was entranced by Gray and Tiffany's sweet and sexy story it stole my heart and this is a perfect edition to this series.
Brilliant and I highly recommend it.

Unrivaled
By Jerica MacMillan

A story about a girl getting pregnant after a one night stand her senior year of high school. When she tries to tell the father about the pregnancy, his response is that he doesn't know her. She raises her son with the help of her parents while going to college. They meet again in college where a friend who puts 2 and 2 together tells him.

The excerpt says it's an enemies to lovers story, but it really isn't. Yes, they were school rivals originally, but they were both friendly to each other the night they met. The hate is one-sided because she thinks he denied his son. In all, IMHO, the book was boring. There was no true drama, no real angst, and Grayson and Tiffany really had no chemistry.

Jerica MacMillan is a new to me author and I was excited to read Unrivaled after reading the blurb. Grayson and Tiffany meet after Tiffany breaks up with her cheating boyfriend and enjoy one night together. They shared some steamy chemistry, but it was too soon for Tiffany so she walked away. Then she discovers she is pregnant and she will have the baby with or without Grayson. Years later when they meet again, Grayson wants to be a part of her and his son’s life. But where was he all those years ago?

Will Grayson and Tiffany find a way to each other or is it too late already? Tiffany was determined but scared to trust in Grayson. Grayson was just as determined and knew he wanted both the woman and his son. Their journey was not an easy one and was full of angst and emotional, but also a charming read.

Happy reading!

The book was REALLY slow. A lot of repetition in both of their thoughts, which really annoyed me. I skimmed from about 60% on. The “chemistry” the main characters have is just sex and physical attraction in my opinion. They don’t really get to know each other, unless it just wasn’t written in the book. Tiffany annoyed me and Gray was just boring. We don’t really know anything about either character beyond what careers they each want and the kid they have. And there’s not much said about anyones personalities at all. I can’t really say I’d recommend reading the book to anyone.

Juvenile writing style (spoilers)

The story had potential but it lacked finesse, character progression, and was unrealistic. The two main characters basically say “hi” and then have sex. Now I’m not knocking anyone who wants a quick lay but normally there is more exchange then a “hello.” A demonstration of some form of chemistry would have been nice.

Then there was the pregnancy that was supposedly ignored. It was ignored because his football coach said “he did not know her.” Her and her parents (insert eye roll) took this individuals word and believed the father was blowing her off. She also made some attempts via social media to get in contact with him but they went unanswered.

Now, I do not know if the author has children or not ; I am going to assume no. The reasoning for my assumption is that any parent out there would not take the word of someone else or rely on social media. If they were so determined to find this teenager they knew what school he attended; and could have taken their daughter to speak with him or spoke to an official at the school to set up a meeting with the kids family.

It was all just unbelievable.. the college version of the leading characters was as if they never left high school that’s how young and naive they came across. The male lead was fixated on how she never gave him her number after they fucked and our leading lady was on the fence on her feelings and whether she truly believed him. If the story would have began when they were in college or just graduated went separate ways it would have been more believable.

I wouldn’t waste my time. I had to force myself to finish.. which I did because I don’t like to leave books unfinished. Even if they are poorly written.

Not to be harsh, but it felt like I was reading a story from wattpad (yikes).

The story was a bit bland for my taste and there was nothing really unique about it. It felt like Tiffany was making a big deal out of things that were easily solvable, I understand where she’s coming from but the solutions were basic logic and yet it had to be spelled out for her. Also, the reasoning they had for not being able to reach Gray was meh, I mean yeah the coach told them he said he didn’t know her but why did he do it? It was just glossed over and it was not as if there were any mention of the coach being an asshole or something like that except for that occurrence only and if they really wanted to reach Gray, they know which school he’s in, they could’ve easily looked for him or asked a different school staff about him, his contact number or whatever. If he’s this big popular guy they say he is, the whole school would probably know him.

Lastly, I think the main characters think that sex = love cause that’s all they basically do except have dinner and the epilogue made no sense, I don’t even think it should be considered as an epilogue, its more of a preview of the next book in the series, meaning, the book did not have any conclusions whatsoever. This review feels like its more of a rant than a review but whatevs, would’ve given it two start if it had a proper ending.

Cute romance story but epilogue was not so good

This is a toss up between 3 - 3.5 star rating.

This novel was a cute romance story with a bit of spice mixed in and very little drama/issues. The H and h were kind of boring, honestly, they were bland to me. Now little Benny Boo was the main character and he provided all the excitement, the drama, etc. The one thing I didn't like was all the yelling from Benny Boo. Goodness, doesn't matter how cute a kid is, the kid should not be yelling all the time. I've never met a kid that did that. I would not have the patience for that. That child would be in time out until he can learn to talk like a normal person.

The epilogue was not an epilogue for me. Hello??? What happened to the main characters for the book, did they work out, did they have another child, etc.?

I don't know if I've read this author before, but it was an okay read. Sometimes I just need more spice, more heat, more drama, more action, more suspense, and more emotions/feelings in my books.

While attending a party the night after a nasty breakup with her cheating ex-boyfriend, the quarterback of her high school's football team, head cheerleader Tiffany hooked up with Grayson "Gray" Kilpatrick, the quarterback for their cross-town rivals. All she wanted was a little revenge on her ex, but what she ended up with instead was an unplanned pregnancy. She made several efforts to contact Gray but he never responded, so she assumed he didn't want anything to do with her or the baby. Four years later, single mom Tiffany was living with her parents and trying to finish an accounting degree when she unexpectedly ran into Gray outside one of her classes at Marycliff University. A recent transfer to Marycliff, Gray was now a college senior and star quarterback preparing to enter the NFL draft. Tiffany avoided Gray as much as possible, but it wasn't long before a mutual friend figured out that he was her son Ben's father and didn't know. It turned out that Gray had never received Tiffany's messages letting him know of her pregnancy, and even though she wanted nothing to do with him, he was determined to get to know his son.

I really liked how realistic both Gray and Tiffany's reactions to the situation seemed, as well as the measured approach Gray took towards building a relationship with Ben. It took time for Tiffany to adjust her thinking and let go of her anger towards Gray. She was understandably concerned about introducing Gray to her son when she didn't know if he'd stick around, plus it had to have been difficult to contemplate sharing Ben with his father when she'd never had to do it before. I appreciated that Gray didn't immediately push to tell Ben that he was his father or have unsupervised visitation with him. They needed time to get to know each other first, and even then, the first time Gray had Ben on his own, it didn't go well. Little Ben just wanted his mom when it was time for bed!

Gray and Tiffany had good chemistry from the start, and it was easy to see the connection between them even when they were at odds. Gray was surprisingly sweet, genuinely committed to being a good dad and finding a path forward with Tiffany and Ben. That said, I found myself becoming frustrated with the state of his relationship with Tiffany as the end of the story approached. They just wouldn't talk to each other about their feelings for each other, what they wanted from the relationship, or how they might make it work after Gray graduated and moved to whatever city drafted him into the NFL. They did seemingly work out a compromise, but there were several questions left unanswered by the epilogue, which further frustrated me. For example, what did Tiffany work out in regards to finishing her degree? (The epilogue itself was a bit of a frustration in that it wasn't even about Gray and Tiffany; it jumped ahead to the characters that will be featured in the next book.)

Overall, I did enjoy and would recommend "Unrivaled," but I'm on the fence about continuing with the series. I don't read much new adult romance (I have a very difficult time connecting with characters that age given how long ago college was for me), and I wasn't particularly attached to either of the characters that will be featured in the next book. That said, I may go back and read Gray's sister Piper's story at some point.

3.5-4 stars. (After this paragraph there will likely be spoilers). Overall it was a sweet book. But it left me wanting more details. And the knock in a star are for the epilogue/bonus scene. It's a severe pet peeve of mine when an author uses the epilogue to promote the next book!! An epilogue is a freaking conclusion to the story! Not a freaking book promotion! Add a preview to the book at the end of the book like other authors do. Stop misusing the epilogue section. This pisses me off to no end and I literally will deduct an entire star at this point when I see it. I'm so tired of it.

Spoilers might start from here for the record.

So overall it's your typical story with some drama. This one happens to be that she got pregnant, tried to get a hold of him, couldn't, and found him later. He was genuinely shocked that he had a kid and she was under the impression he knew and turned them away. So of course they have their bumps on the road and then ultimately get together. Little Benny, their son, is almost four and is just super adorable and wins everybody's hearts.

I didn't like the fact that when both of them told their parents, aka both sets of grandparents, their first reaction was to reach out to attorneys and get everything in writing. Which I get to a degree, but Gray and Tiffany were still trying to figure things out on their own. And then, nothing was ever done with attorneys anyway. So the interference by the parents was overstepping in my opinion.

I almost expected his parents to know that Gray had a son because the coach allegedly reached out. Obviously the coach didn't go anywhere with it and denied it on Gray's behalf. I thought it would been better to let Gray talk to the coach and confront him about it. Instead of having a cop out of not being able to get a hold of him. Where there is a will there's a way. The lengths that Tiffany went to get a hold of Gray were decent. Tried Facebook, Instagram, and then ultimately went to the coach. Who in turn said Gray denied knowing her.

Anyway, the book as it was written was all right. The love story was cute. They had their attraction from when they were younger, and it remained throughout the years as they discovered each other once again. I didn't like the fact that Benny never called Gray, daddy, in the book. That seemed to be an afterthought and made part of the bonus scene. That entire bonus scene should have been the freaking epilogue!! And then do another bonus scene of them down the road and his successful career or something. Maybe even officially proposing and such for a real HEA. But the way the book was written, left me wanting more about them and even what the grandparents thought - seeing as they were so involved earlier on in the book.

Despite the fact that the plot and characters never quite managed to retain my interest, I was able to make it all the way to the end—as such I consider this book to be passable.

I find myself annoyed with the way two seperate story threads were handled. The first being Jackson, who was immediately discarded and/or cast aside once he served his purpose—said purpose being revealing to Gray that he had a son. Once Gray knew about Ben he confronted Tiffany, which exposed the lie that separated them four years ago, which led to them co-parenting, and yada-yada-yada—i.e. Jackson was the MVP of the story, yet he’s banished from any on-page appearances after 21%. THE DISRESPECT.

The second story thread had to do with the family law attorneys that both sets of [main characters’] parents were going to contact—both stating something along the lines of it being in Ben’s best interest for Tiffany and Gray to have their co-parenting agreement in legal writing. We never get any follow-up in regards to attorneys or legal matters. We don’t even know if any attorneys were contacted—just zero references.

My last issue isn’t in regards to an unresolved story thread, but instead the FMC—I found Tiffany annoying. Having said that, I think it’s important to note that her behaviors, thoughts, and actions were completely in line with her character’s history. Still, even though I can acknowledge that her insecurities and fears weren’t unreasonable, it doesn’t change the fact that they got on my nerves.

Unrivaled is the third book in Jerica MacMillan's Marycliff University spin off series. It can be enjoyed as a stand alone but I personally believe the story is better when you have read the series in order- and with this series currently being in kindle unlimited it's a fun little binge to do!

Grayson and Tiffany's story is one of second chances and a secret baby. They met at a party in high school where they had a one night stand that left Tiffany pregnant. Tiffany was told that Grayson denied ever meeting her so to her surprise when she runs into him 4 years later he is shocked to learn about their child. The connection that Gray and Tiffany have spans past just a mutual attraction- and it makes Gray want more which is the exact opposite of the plan he has held over the years.

For the most part I loved everything about this story- there are a couple things here and there that didn't totally click for me but overall the story was really enjoyable. It had some drama while not being overly angsty, there was plenty of chemistry and heat and some sweet moments as well.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Grayson when he was the background character in is sister's story, Trick Play, since he came off a little strong in knowing what was best for her and while he transferred to Marycliff in part to be there for her- he really acted like she couldn't make decisions for herself which was annoying. So I liked that in this story he got served up a piece of humble pie when he realized that he had mistakes in his past as well. I really did like Tiffany's character- she was focused, motivated and a really hands on mother even if she got some assistance from her parents at times. I liked that while she was not thrilled with the sudden appearance of Gray, once she got the message that he was not going to just disappear out of Ben's life she made it easy for Grayson to spend time with their son.

I'm really excited with the teaser at the end for the next book, I have a feeling Jackson will be my favorite out of the series!

Gray is everything.

This was such a great read, and secret baby/second chance done right. Tiffany and Gray hook up at a party during their senior year of high school. She was the lead cheerleader and just broke up with her high school football star boyfriend after he cheated. Gray was the football star of their rival team. He asked her to give him her number before leaving the party, but she left without giving it to him. He was interested in more, but she was fresh off a break up and did not want to get into another relationship. She regrets that decision some weeks later when she discovered she is pregnant. She reaches out to him on social media and gets no response, and as a last resort her football coach father reaches out to the football coach of Gray’s team. That coach tells her father that Gray does not remember her and never hooked up with her. She spends the next 4 years hating him, and doesn’t see him again until he transfers to her college during his senior year.

Gray is blown away to find out he’s a father, and is all in from the get go. He’s always wanted Tiffany too, but she is more hesitant. Honestly, I wanted to shake her a bit at times. But eventually she let go of her insecurity Gray as literally perfect every step of the way, and so committed to both of them. I adore him.

This is listed as a stand alone, and can be read as such, but there are a couple previous books about characters that are in this book as well. I wish it as listed as part of a series so I could have got to know those people first. Also, the book funnel “bonus scene” didn’t work, and the epilogue was about a character who will be featured in the next book, so we really didn’t get to see anything at the end after they decide they’re going to be together and he is drafted into the NFL.

One steamy night back in high school changed everything for Grayson and Tiffany... in ways they didn't expect. A few months later Tiffany finds out she is expecting and when she goes to tell Grayson the news she's met with a cold shoulder. So, she picks herself up and decides that she will raise the baby on her own, and has done quite well at it for the last four plus years. Turns out maybe she didn't need his help after all...

But little does she know fate has other plans for her and Grayson...

Unrivaled is beautiful story of second chances, unexpected reunions, and finding that forever kind of love. Every time Tiffany thinks back on that night and thinks of Grayson she grows irritated about how things turned out. While he went off to live out his football dreams, she was left behind struggling to raise a child he wanted nothing to do with. His absence in their child's life grates her to no end, but it is, what it is. Or is it?

When they unexpectedly bump into one another again, and Grayson learns that he is a father it changes everything for all of them. Tiffany learns the truth, forgiveness begins to take hold, and a family starts to blossom. Watching them learn together, forgive, bond, and fall in love; it's all such a wonderful thing to behold. Their story is such a heartwarming journey. I really enjoyed this newest offering from Ms. MacMillian, it had an unexpected softer side to it that really spoke to my heart... and of course her signature steamier side of things was pretty spectacular too! I've got to say this one takes the top spot as my favorite from her to date. Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Second Chance Sports Romance

Entertaining and enjoyable read.

A hookup at a high school party where the male character is the quarterback from the rival high school team who beat the female character’s school in the playoffs. She’s just days out of a four year relationship with her school’s quarterback that ended when she walked in on him cheating on her.

Even though the book starts while the characters are in high school with a drama fest of a hookup made me a little apprehensive since this isn’t my preferred trope, I was captivated by the characters. A glimmer of more was present and the author’s writing fully captured my interest.

The So they storyline jumps ahead to both characters attending the same college after Grayson transfers for his senior year. The author was creative in how she introduced the possibility of the secret baby to the unsuspecting baby daddy. I wish the author would have included the mutual friend, Jackson, in a scene or two after the truth comes out since he just disappears from the storyline.

The story unfolds and Grayson is focused on preparing for the NFL’s combine and the subsequent draft, but he makes time for his son and Tiffany.

Any romance has to have some angst and drama to make it interesting to readers, but in this day and age it was a little unrealistic to think a young woman as focused on getting her degree and accomplishing her goals wouldn’t have considered transferring or completing her degree online to keep her young son with his dad. This seems like it would have been a big topic she would have addressed earlier instead of just stewing over the possible heartbreak.

I really enjoyed the characters and found the reactions of Grayson to finding out about Ben to be poignant.

Sports Secret Baby

This was a fast read and so cute. It is the third in a series, but I read it without the others and was fine. There will be spoilers about the first two books, since they regularly interact with both couples, but it can be read as a standalone.

Troupes: Secret baby, sports romance, enemies to lovers
Spice Levels: There are some very nice scenes that had me blushing because I was visiting my parents when I read one...
The spice is all vanilla but definitely not fade to black.

Tiffany and Gray have a one night stand that leaves her with a positive pregnancy test souvenir. She is told Gray doesn't know her when she reached out to let him know so imagine her surprise when she runs into him four years later just as drafting is starting for the NFL with him as a first round pick favorite. Except he does remember her- but claims he never knew she contacted him. Can they get their happily ever after?
Answer: Of course! This is a romance 😝

I liked Tiffany as a protective mother. As a mom, her reactions mostly seemed legitimate and on target. Gray was such a sweetheart with how he handled everything. Little Ben was also adorable and very much like a toddler with no attention span.

The chemistry was all there. The enemies to lovers wasn't a Sparky banter relationship but more of Tiffany being angry and closed off then nervous about trusting Grayson. This worked well for the story line although Gray's head was sometimes on Tiffany way more than on Ben, whereas I think it would be reverse in real life at first. But in a romance it worked.

Nothing outlandish happens, just a sweet little accidentally secret baby romance that you will enjoy.

Tiffany caught her high school boyfriend cheating, and so hooked up with a rival school’s quarterback at a party to…make herself feel better, I guess?

Anywho, she gets preggers, can’t get in touch with him, is told by his coach that he doesn’t even remember her and that’s that.

Cut to four years later where she’s at uni, and baby daddy has just transferred in. Finds out about kid, swears blind he didn’t know, wants to get to know them both.

So in all honestly, I nearly DNF’ed at the prologue. I don’t know how to explain it but it was written in a way that felt very juvenile - which sort of makes sense for the fact they were high school seniors, but it made me think that was the author’s writing style. Hence I almost didn’t continue.

Thankfully, the rest of the book was written in a much more palatable way and I actually enjoyed the story.

Although Tiffany’s constant doubts about everything Grayson did annoy me, I also appreciated that it made her quite real. I completely understand where she was coming from.

But Gray was all in (he says from that time in high school but then didn’t actually recognise her until later so…maybe not quite as convincing on that front). His devotion to her and Ben was really sweet, and Ben was the cutest kid.

Low angst, no OW/OM, all the drama came from Tiffany’s own spiralling thoughts and fears. But a light and easy read, good for palate cleansing. Make sure to stick it out past the awkward prologue.

I haven’t read books of Jerica MacMillain prior to this book so this is the first for me of hers and it won’t be the last as I fell in love with the lead couple. Unrivaled is Gray and Tiffany's story. They meet at a party soon after Tiffany finds out that her current boyfriend Carter, is cheating on her. So at the party one thing leads to another and they have an incredible night together. Unfortunately there is miscommunication and Gray doesn't know that Tiffany is pregnant so goes on with his life unaware he is a father. Fast forward four years later and they bump into each other, Tiffany gives him the cold shoulder, till their mutual friend Jackson reveals the truth to Gray. I did understand Tiffany and her animosity toward him, but being the guy Gray is he just accepted it and kept his dignity. I loved Grayson and Tiffany. They had great chemistry and I was rooting for them from the beginning. Tiffany is brave, admirable and very protective of Ben and I just adored him! Gray is just as amazing, his interactions with Ben is so sweet and heartwarming. Attraction between is these two is palpable, but they are both hesitant and unsUnrivaledure how they should act towards each other and they can be together as a family.
I really enjoyed reading this story as Jerica's writing is top notch and keeps you turning the pages. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a second chance, secret baby, enemies to lovers kind of Romance.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review
