TIMELESS LESSONS FROM THE PIONEER OF SUCCESS!The world's foremost producer of personal development and motivational audio programs now gives you a time-tested formula for self-motivation and achievement.
The landmark bestseller "Think and Grow Rich" established Napoleon Hill as one of the world's most revered and trusted authorities on personal development. Now, in this rare collection of original recordings, Hill shares the success secrets he learned from the achievers who influenced him -- Carnegie, Edison, Ford and the other legendary leaders of the early 20th century -- and the common set of universal principles that Hill discovered at the root of their success.
The proven wisdom of these timeless principles, revealed in this remarkable program, offer a road map to achievement that will help you:
* Unleash the power of positive thinking
* Gain an unflinching belief in yourself and your ideas
* Motivate others with your enthusiasm and faith
* Develop mental skills needed to transform your ideas into realized accomplishments
You don't need to forge the path to success on your own; with "The Science of Personal Achievement," the master will show you the way!
Oliver Napoleon Hill was an American self-help author and conman. He is best known for his book Think and Grow Rich (1937), which is among the best-selling self-help books of all time. Hill's works insisted that fervid expectations are essential to improving one's life. Most of his books were promoted as expounding principles to achieve "success". Hill is a controversial figure. Accused of fraud, modern historians also doubt many of his claims, such as that he met Andrew Carnegie and that he was an attorney.
"Keep your mind fixed on the things I want and off the things I don't want." (Napoleon Hill, The Science of Personal Achievement)
This program is based on Napoleon Hill's book Think and Grow Rich, which by the way is consistently recommended by all wealthy people from billionaires and millionaires. I have read 100's of books by billionaires and this book is consistently mentioned as a book that had a great impact on their lives. This program is based on the book and discussed what he calls the 17 Universal Principles of Success and Achievement. These are:
1. Definiteness of Purpose 2. The Master Mind Principle 3. Applied Faith 4. Pleasing Personality 5. Going the Extra Mile 6. Personal Initiative 7. Self-Discipline 8. Controlled Attention 9. Enthusiasm 10. Imagination 11. Learning from Adversity and Defeat 12. Budgeting Time and Money 13. Positive Mental Attitude 14. Accurate Thinking 15. Sound Physical Health 16. Cooperation 17. Cosmic Habitforce
There was a lot covered in these materials. I think something that popped out at me personally is that we have to learn to control our thoughts. God has given us the power to control our thoughts. We require to keep our thoughts on the things we want and not on the things we don't want. If we keep our minds on the things we don't want, we will start to attract the things we don't want. If we keep our minds on the things we want, then the things we want will start to be attracted to us. This is also called The Law of Attraction. This isn't easy and requires a lot of self-discipline. Also, we just have to get so busy working toward our goals that we don't have time to think on the negative. This works! Get busy defining your goals and get busy working on your goals and your goals will start to manifest in front of your eyes. Remember, the joy is in the journey, not the destination.
One of the best books on personal growth that I've ever read. The universal laws in which Napoleon Hills talks about will transform your life. This book is timeless! I'm going to revisit it often.
Lessons Learned: Definitiveness of purpose is the beginning of all achievement.
Summary: Author Napoleon hill has hit it out of the park with this gem full of useful information on how to become a true achiever. If you are interested in improving your lot in this life, I highly recommend this book.
I listened to the audio of this--it has various audio clips of Napoleon Hill while he was alive. He's very wise and in tune with truths that many people are oblivious to. He is a man whose life I desire to study more intently...
Perhaps worthy of a better rating by me - because this is wisdom gold no doubt. But if your familiar with Napoleon Hills work - this seems to be another version of the same work published under a different title - was nice again to hear the authors voice in recorded format teaching some of his foundational and key success principles based around his teachings.

Hearing many of Hill's old speeches in this audiobook, where he seemed to be going off the cuff quite often, seemed to show what he valued most in personal development. Selective mentoring was hugely important to him, as were mastermind groups and connecting with others. His stories about Carnegie and Edison were cool to hear. Much of it is what you'd expect if you're familiar with Hill or the genre: controlled attention, clear goals with relentless pursuit, affirmations, optimism, enthusiasm, etc.
Something about old books is that if they are still relevant by the time you read them, they should be read annually because their information is priceless
This book basically says (over and over): if you want a thing bad enough, you'll get it... I will probably read it again someday, but it doesn't seem like I want anything that badly today - except maybe balance, which feels opposite to the ideas of this book.
The principles of success are never outdated. This book is just as important now as it was when it was written. We detail the Success Principles in the Inspired Blog http://www.annhawkins.com
The content is pretty repetitive. I liked it except the audiobook version includes the original recordings having a lot of background noise making it a pain to listen.
