A shocking revelation has left Eve reeling. With her worldview irrevocably altered, she finds herself with a decision to make. What price is she willing to pay for revenge? While it is a gruesomely satisfying goal, the path of vengeance would require her to dig two graves. One for her target. And one for the person she used to be.
Levi's nonexistent morals, however, have never changed. He is dead set on bringing Malgrave to its knees and forcing the democratic north side to formally cede the south to him. But now he has two goals. Complete domination. And Eve.
The two of them find themselves in a fight with the stakes of a lifetime. And the winner takes it all. Revenge. Power. Freedom. Love. Levi and Eve want it all. To get it, they will need to descend into darkness. And once inside that bloodstained abyss, there will be no way back. It is time to choose a side. Hero. Or villain. Because only one side will get their happily ever after.

THE BOOK IVE BEEN WAITING FOR! Since the first book, I have been rooting for Eve to realize her true potential. Her and Levi are absolutely perfect together. They compliment each other in the best ways and have the most fun banter. They care so deeply for one another and work together so well. This book was full of action and adventure! It’s definitely my favorite of the series!
MIND BLOWN!!! That's all I can think right now...literally my mind is blown. Marion never fails to give us a book full of action, witty banter, steamy spice and, of course, schemes upon schemes! After the bomb at the end of book 2, I couldn't wait to see what Marion would bring us in book 3, and she delivered in a big way! Eve's character arc might be favorite to date. I love a good morally grey villain, but Eve's dive into moral greyness has been a long time coming. She's been fighting her true nature for most of her life, but now that the truth of her past has come to light, she's more than ready to embrace the dark mage inside of her. And of course, our sexy King of Metal is right alongside her ready to help her get her revenge however she needs it. Not only do we still have our motley crew of mages trying to take over the south side from the north side constables, but that arrogant and conniving world walker, Christian White, is still causing issues. He's more than proven he can't be trusted, and now he's done the one thing that Levi can't ignore...he's threatening Eve.
While Eve is planning to take down that man that killed her father, she's also desperate to help Levi achieve his goal of becoming the King of the South. These constables have underestimated her around every turn, and she proves that she's not just capable of handling a sword but she's also capable of scheming like no one they have ever seen. Together, she and Levi devise a plan that not only will give them total control over the South side, but also give them a chance to kill an evil worldwalker. But all of this planning balances on the edge of a knife. One slip up, one wrong move and it all comes crashing down. Can our villains get the revenge that they seek, while also keeping their own people safe? Or will the North side invade before they can be ready for them? Will a worldwalker have his bloody way with Eve, or will Levi finally get his revenge on Christian White?
So many things I loved about this book, that I don't know where to start! First, Marion does an excellent job of wrapping everything up in this conclusion. This is what an end to a trilogy should be! Second, the scheming...Marion is the Queen of females who can scheme and this book is no slouch in the scheming department! I love to see how everything unfolds in her books. It's all like an intricate puzzle, and it's just beautiful by the end! Third, is the spice! Levi is a total dominant, alpha male on the streets of his city, and he is the exact same way in the bedroom! And lastly, the characters...I love how Marion develops her characters from book to book. By the end, her characters are so fleshed out that you truly feel like you know them. These characters are just amazing, and I love them all! This was another fantastic series from Marion! If you're a fan of fantasy, enemies to lovers and unique magic systems, you need to check these out!
“Blood on my face, revenge in my heart, freedom in my soul...”
Thank you so much to Marion Blackwood for the ARC and making me a part of your Street Team, I’m so happy to continue this story as I loved the first books and this was a epic ending to the story! This book is releasing December 27th and is up for preorder now: https://www.marionblackwood.com
⭐️Rivals to lovers ⭐️Scheming ⭐️Plot twists ⭐️Amazing world building ⭐️Domineering MMC ⭐️Feisty FMC ⭐️Intricate magical system ⭐️Spice and bondage🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
Intended for adult and mature readers. It’s recommended to read the TWs before going in to the series. You can find them at Marion’s website.
The world building gave me everything I wanted in this book that I wished for in the two others, but still a scene on the coast would be amazing. I have not read the Ruthless Villain series in the same world so it may be that this series focuses on places that aren’t so explored in the other connected series. The Ruthless Enemy series is a spicy romantasy trilogy, a prequel series to the Ruthless Villains series. You don’t have to read one before the other as it’s separate stories in the same world.
I still love the intricate magical system that reminded me of W.I.T.C.H from my childhood because of the elemental magic mostly and feels very original. Otherwise this series/world has the vibe of Shadow & Bone, Game of Thrones and The Witcher. Marion’s specialty really is plot twists and making the story come natural even if I see some of the twists coming, I truly enjoyed them. This ends with a HEA and I’m swooning for it, love how it wrapped up with every character and her writing is so beautiful.
I love the relationship between Eve and Levi, having all the sides to the character explored and understood feels so realistic. Like I have said from the first book I always have a fun time with these two and loved the interactions they have, they even make politics fun. I was very intrigued that Marion was able to take the scheming behind doors again before explaining it to the reader. It reminders me of the first book and I liked that full circle feeling it gave. This was a really fun, intriguing, steaming and fulfilled reading.
Thank you so much to Marion Blackwood for my gifted eARC of Heartless Enemy!
I literally just DEVOURED this book! OH MY LANTA, this was perfection!! Every Marion Blackwood book I read just gets better and better. Levi and Eve’s story is just *chef’s kiss,* & this book perfectly wrapped up their story.
The plot in this book was so exciting to read - Marion is so good at writing plot twists & schemes that you can’t see coming, & it makes for such a fun & thrilling reading experience. You really sit there trying to keep up with everything and then, BAM, you’re thrown for another loop! It seriously was written so well, though, & it just really kept me invested throughout the whole book. I love books that keep my mind engaged & keep me guessing, & this book did just that!
Levi & Eve are my favorite. I loved their development throughout the whole trilogy & really felt like this book fully fleshed them out. We got to see all of their sides & see how complex & multi-faceted they are as characters. I loved seeing Levi soften a bit & Eve really found herself & became so strong & fierce. And these two are just so perfect for each other! I love their interactions & relationship. They depend on each other, but are also so strong as individual characters. They find comfort in each other & it’s just so beautiful.
Overall, I loved this final book in an amazing trilogy! I cannot recommend it enough, and everything was wrapped up so perfectly! It’s so bittersweet seeing Levi and Eve’s story finish, but I can’t wait to see what Marion has in store for us next!

5⭐️ No hesitation… I binged this book so fast it was unreal.
Disclaimer - I got this book sent to me by the author for a free review (but I’ve preordered the book anyway 😜).
Seriously… no one does enemies to lovers like Marion Blackwood. I am really pleased with this book, the conclusion to the Ruthless Enemy trilogy. It was bittersweet as I didn’t want Levi and Eve’s story to end but at the same time it was a fabulous ending so I cannot complain.
I loved watching this book become a revenge story and I loved watching all the plot points come together and everything was wrapped up nicely. I couldn’t get enough of this book, from the revenge plot, epic magic battle scenes to Levi and Eve being their truest selves. I was here for all of it and I just felt like this trilogy was utter perfection.
This was such a quick read, the pacing was perfect and I couldn’t put the book down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book from start to finish and I want to devour it all over again!
I can’t wait to see what Marion does next!
Check out Heartless Enemy on hardback, paperback and ebook on December 27th!!! I highly recommend you check out this series if you want an adult fantasy romance with some spice and enemies to lovers content. 😘
I received a free ARC of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.
And the trilogy ends with a bang. I love how the author has all the twists and turns come together in just the right way. It’s both believable and mind blowing all at once which is a hard balance to achieve.
Seeing where Eve goes from the reveal at the end of the last book is all the pins and needles you want from this kind of story! You see her development organically and can absolutely believe her choices. It’s a wonderful transformation, with an ending that hits hard.
I have come to expect wonderful things from Marion in terms of schemes, female characters, and the darker side of human nature. She does not disappoint here.
I enjoyed this third book more than the last one, but I still think it suffered in execution. I liked finally learning about Levi’s past and adding more depth to both MC’s, but I think the story could have really benefitted from some stronger side characters and demonstration of relationships other than the main one. The plot definitely had more of a purpose in this book, but I’m not sure the stakes felt that high.
Also, while I can respect the intricate twists the author builds, she does a lot of explaining and telling rather than letting the scenes unfold and allowing the reader to feel that excitement. It’s like the meme from It’s Always Sunny with all the red strings - ‘we did A, so this guy would do B and then we could pull off C!’.
Her and Levi are plotting, fighting, killing together, love that.
Worlwalker is back for the epic battle, like I said his power is rubbish n proves that in this battle. lol!!!
Levi is doing what he does best being sexy Mofo n clapping them cheeks. So top marks 😜
This is eve villian arch BUT I still felt sorry for the man that raised her, he did an awful thing, but the destruction of his live from Eve felt harsh, he raised her and helped her and if she wanted revenge I wish it was just a quick death, I could understand the destruction of his life if he was super evil and a nasty character but he wasn't.
Enjoined it but think Eve and Levi story could of been 2 books instead of 3.
You guys, the trilogy is finally completed. Eve and Levi's story is complete, and it wrapped up beautifully! 😭
We see Levi's vulnerable side, Eve finally makes a decision after dealing with her internal battle of being in the "good" or "bad" side. We see betrayal, plot twists, spicy scenes, and revenge. I already have the book in my cart to grab and put next to the rest of this series on my bookshelf because it's truly one of my favorites! 🖤
📚 Completed Trilogy 📚 Dual POV 📚 Fantasy Romance 📚 Villanous Love Interest 📚 Enemies to Lovers 📚 Touch Her and Die 📚 Set 5 years before "Ruthless Villains" Series
Marion Blackwoods other series that connects to this one, Wicked Villains, focused on two anti-hero main characters from the beginning. This series gives the fmc a lot of depth since Eve was a “white boot”. Watching Eve turn to Levi and his side and deal with her inner turmoil was incredibly fascinating. My small critiques are the pacing got a bit confusing or jumpy at times and the phrase “like the villain he is” was over used a lot. This is a great fantasy, romance, and adventure series with complex and interesting characters and storylines. 4.5/5

A heart pounding end to Eve and Levi’s story, nobody does suspense and schemes better than Marion Blackwood. The character development that both Levi and Eve had was *chefs kiss*, I was thrilled that we got to see more into Levi’s past and what shaped him into who he is and why conquering the South Side was his obsession. And Eves personal journey of deciding what type of person she wants to become after having found out the truth about her past, and having nothing holding her back from any choice she makes. The romance/love Levi and Eve has is toe curling good, I’m a sucker for the male lead to hate or be void of feelings toward everyone else BUT the one he loves and this book gave me all that and more. I definitely plan on giving this series a reread in the new year. Job well done Marion, I can’t wait to see what else you have in store in the future!
I literally finished this whole series in about 5 days, this one I started yesterday straight after finished book 2, and finished today, I could NOT put it down!
I love the characters, the story, the scheming, the twists, the humour, and of course, the spice!
Marion has very quickly become my favourite author because I can never guess what's going to happen or how. I have to admit, I do love a happy ending, but this series was just awesome.
I’m a little heartbroken that this series has come to an end. First Callan’s series kept me entertained and made me sad at the last book that it was over. Now Levi’s story is also done. Marion Blackwell is an author that holds your interest and keeps you entertained through her stories. There’s a level comedy and banter that I absolutely love in her characters. The villains are not always the bad guys in her books, and can also find their HEA.
All the characters’ morality are questionable, so if you enjoy morally gray, this series is for you. For me personally it was a little too gray but the book made me laugh, cry, and giggle so it definitely deserves the five stars.
I love how this author writes romance and the banter!!!! Perfection!
A fantastic conclusion to the series. The battles, the scheming, the spicy scenes… everything came together so perfectly. I love how Levi allows himself to finally be completely vulnerable to Eve and how fearless she becomes fighting beside him.
I had been waiting for this one to come out for months, and this story does not disappoint! I have loved Marion Blackwood’s characters… they are so very complex and deep, and they are villains that you can’t help but love.
I thought it was a great book to end the series. I never considered a corruption arc before, and it was a fun read. Some action, fantasy, and a little spice all rolled into one. Twists and turns to keep you going with a happy ending for the characters you grew to love

Unhinged Eve was everything 🙌🗡🩸 Excellent conclusion to this trilogy. Big fan of this world that blackwood built for this series and the Villains series. I binged all 8 books in just a couple of weeks and regret nothing, but the magic system and villainous characters will be missed.
I've read all three books. I was in a book slump and I am relieved I took a chance on these. Good stories, nice pacing, good character and I'm glad it turned out this way!
4.5 ⭐ What a satisfying end to the series! I like how all the loose ends were tied up and how we learned Levi’s backstory early in this book. I look forward to the next series I plan to read by her, Flame and Thorns
*****SPOILERS*****
As I was reading the final battle with the worldwalker, I was getting concerned they were only going to negotiate and talk out a truce (which would NOT have been satisfying), but the way they got rid of the worldwalker was so clever. I also enjoyed how Eve was able to get revenge on Ulric. It was so thoughtfully planned and executed ✨chefs kiss✨
I loved the first two books so much, waiting for book 3 to come out was a nightmare. I sometimes forget to go back to a series if i've moved on to a new one and its been a while. (I blame the ADHD) but not with this series, the second it was released it went straight to the top of my tbr list and I finished it within a day.
What an epic conclusion to an incredible trilogy!! Levi and Eve are SO perfect and gosh there were so many twists in this last book that I don't even know which one I'm most surprised about.
Marion Blackwood is hands down the best at writing misdirection and scheming. No matter which book I pick up of Marion's, I know it will throw me for a loop in the best possible way. I LOVE the creativeness of pulling together the story through schemes and twists, and I actually haven't read a book by anyone else that even comes close to it.
Levi softened throughout the books and Eve hardened tf up, and the 'corruption arc' was super exciting. It made it feel like the characters kept developing throughout the books, and we kept learning new things about them.
As with the first two books, the level is spice is spot on. There's plenty of it, and it's written into the story perfectly.
I'm so sad that Levi and Eve's journey has come to an end, but I can't wait to dive into whatever Marion Blackwood writes next.
Massive thank you to the author for taking me on this journey, and for sending me an ARC of Heartless Enemy.
