KP Keshava Menon, as he clearly declares in the preface, decided to write this book after he was enamored by the Life of Christ. This shines throughout the book. The book acts as an introduction to the reader to the Life of Christ as known to us through the Gospels and various conventional religious sources. This is not to say that the book has little value, but for the reader to understand from where the author comes.
That being said, the book is a light read and gives quite a good introduction to the Life of Christ for the uninitiated reader. My interest in Christ was ignited after my travels through Europe and after visiting most of the great art galleries there. To understand European Art without knowing the life of christ is near to impossible. This book had come to my collection even before that when I had picked this book at a Mathrubhumi book stall out of curiosity. However, its time had not come.
Finally, in 2026, it made it to my reading list. It is recommended if you are a person who is not aware of the Messiah and his life. However, if you are, then skip this book as it doesn't contain any depth of analysis or details as to the Life of Christ.
