Entertaining and Easy Read
While not the riveting penmanship of many who spin the tales of lore, Patton does a nice job relaying his 19 stories of the game. As some are not what you'd expect to hear, that's one of the things making this book intriguing and an interesting book for the reader.
As an avid fan of the game, I recommend this book to others who are interested to learn of some of the lesser, albeit no less great, stories that make hockey and it's tales some of the best in sports.
For the ease of reading and the interesting point of view offered, a good book that gave me some 'nuggets' likely otherwise unknown had I not chosen this for my reading library.

This little, hockey book is fun! The author writes about some interesting people, many familiar to hockey fans, in vignettes that read a bit like short essays. Different from what he states at the beginning of the book, you WOULD have to know hockey in order to understand the references in the tales (the blue line, in the frame, heck, even things like points or +/-). Still, for short stories, perfect for reading in the inbetween times, this wasn't a bad history.

This is a book you would find in a middle school library. It contains several short stories about some of the most memorable moments in hockey. There isn’t a ton of detail, but it is great as an introduction to new fans. I heard this on audible with the AI generated voice narration. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t horrible either. I still much prefer real voice actors reading the book.

It was okay. The content was interesting, but the writing felt like a teen non-fiction.
