This is the first in a series of 3 novels, which I've actually read 2, am reading the 3rd.
The books are faith-based, Christian, which appeals to me as a Christian. However, there is a little too much preaching, even for me. If a non-believer were to read them, I think they'd be turned off, rather than moved towards Christianity. The characters are good and the story line is really great dealing with issues of divorce, depression, suicide etc. Again, I just think it has too much scripture, which I usually read my Bible for.

Boring and tough to get through. Too much preaching, I plan to quit reading. "He's as good as a double dipped sundae" Blegh

As a believer in Jesus Christ, I liked some aspects of the book, but it may come across as too religious to non-believers if that is who the author is trying to reach. Having read her autobiography recently, I was able to see her putting herself into the character of Lauren mostly with her love of horses and all animals. From the back of the book cover, I thought there would be more about the other women listed aside from Eleanor and Irene. I would read the next book if it was available at my library.

Too many characters too follow, even though they intertwine. Odd bombshell to be dropped towards the very end of the book with the Chelsea character. Odd turns, randomness with dialogue and description.

I finished the book, so I could see the outcome, BUT, I got very tired of Lauren preaching at her sister. Yes, one is supposed to help spread their faith, but should not be so obnoxious about it, pushing and pushing when someone has asked you to stop.

Boring! I made it to where the main character moved to Tenn., then I just couldn't read any more. I was beginning to skip a LOT of the dialog because it was so unnecessary to the story line and boring. I have too many good books waiting to be read to waste any more time on this one.

It's a good book it took me a while to get into it I think it's the writing style that I'm not used to. But after the plot twist I was in it and ima finish the series.
