Wedding bells and happily ever afters are not for me.
I’ve watched my brothers fall to the most dangerous thing of all. Love. But that won’t be me... Except the new dance teacher at the youth center has got my attention. I’ve tried not to notice her. She’s too sweet for me, not really my type. Then one night I find her in trouble, and I'm the only one who can save her. After, I know I can’t ignore her or this feeling brewing. I’ve got to protect this sweet little thing. But how can I protect her when I don’t know who is after her and she won’t tell me?
What is she involved in? And why does my chest hurt every time I think about her?
Bones is a self-proclaimed bachelor and intends to keep it that way. He in no way wants to fall like the rest of his brothers are doing. Melissa is the sweet dance instructor at the youth center. Bones makes a point not to even look at the woman when he fills in for Seer one day at the center. It all changes when she is attacked and he happens to be in the area. There is no way he will let anything happen to her.
This book had a touch of paranormal to it and was so worth the read. I loved the story between Bones and Melissa and the journey they took to get their HEA.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Bones is a committed bachelor. Melissa teaches dance to Daisy at youth center working with gifted kids under Meredith. When Melissa's past comes back to hurt her, Bones is the the one who rushes to help her.
Bones has proven himself to be a one night stand only; forever a bachelor. He has such a tough exterior; however he proves he is capable of feelings. He works with the kids at the youth center, at first to be around Melissa, then to be her bodyguard. Melissa is hiding a secret from everyone. She is passionate about dance and teaching the kids. She noticed Bones come every week to the youth center. She thinks he doesn't notice her. When they fight she isn't afraid to stand up to him; she is strong.
All of the brothers are around to help him when Melissa gets kidnapped. We catch up with them all as well as the wives. The action ramps up and another MC from Houston come to town and assist.
I enjoy the New Orleans chapter of the Ruthless Kings. They are all very unique and many have special talents. The paranormal plays a part in the series. However it is more a romance MC. The characters are well developed as is the world they inhabit. Bones is a wonderful addition to the series.
Bones, the eternal bachelor, wanted nothing to do with relationships. He had no idea why anyone would want to settle with one person, let alone have a family.
Melissa ventures out on her own and away from her family's shadow. She works as a dance teacher at a center for "gifted" children. By "gifted", I mean of the supernatural sort.
When Melissa is confronted with danger due to her family connections, Bones is there to rescue her. Protection leads to feelings (good, bad, happy, sad, and disappointment among them). It is pretty obvious the eternal bachelor had met his match, but Melissa's family connections may come back to haunt them.
This book is probably the most different of all of the books. I felt like the other books had more of the supernatural elements compared to this book. However, that doesn't make this book bad. In fact, I loved it! It reminded me more of the original series, which I also loved. I highly recommend this book because it will keep you on your toes.

Bones by KL Savage due 11/8/23 4 stars Bones & Melissa
He didn't understand all of his brothers settling for one woman. Not for him. Never...well that is until he rescued a dance teacher from the center as she was leaving.
She'd been watching him as long as she'd been at the center. He didn't seem to notice her but she was there when he came in every week. Then it happened and he saved her and took her home. It didn't happen right away but neither could forget the other.
Could he leave her after only one night? Was this a single attack?
All the guys and wives seemed to see what he refused to. He couldn't get her out of his mind but he hadn't changed his conviction not to get into any relationship.
Things change for the club, for Bones and Melissa. Would secrets change things for the better or worse?
I like when characters from previous books show and this one has all the good guys and a few not so good. Another one you won't want to put down.
Ok where do I start?…small issue but kind of big..characters keep referring to the MC as a motorcycle gang not as a motorcycle club. Most books someone would refer to them as a gang and it is immediately corrected that it’s a club a brotherhood but not this book. This book the plot moves along but in a choppy way. No explanation s to how we have gotten to this point. One minute Bones and Melissa had an argument the next she at work plotting on going out. Even after various kidnapping attempts she still wants to get away from him just for a little alone time. What?! I can’t believe that the same person that wrote the Ruthless Kings Las Vegas wrote this book! Can these women get any more ditzy and bubble-brained, only if they were rocks! So far fetched, please give the characters just a spoonful more substance to them so we can read this and have some self respect left as a reader and for yourself as the author.
I really enjoyed Bones and Melissa's story. I love nothing more than when a confirmed batchelor finally falls. Their story was interesting and exciting. Lots of intriguing moments that kept me guessing and hooked from the beginning.
Bones was a fun character. He was intense and quite broody. When his walls finally crumbled though he became a big softy for Melissa.
I enjoyed Melissa's character. She was fun and flirtatious. She wasn't afraid to go for what and who she wanted. I loved that she was involved with the youth center and was so good with the kids.
This book was the lightest on the paranormal aspect with just mentioning of others with powers. This one was more focused on the MC club aspect and the trials the whole club was facing. It was an enjoyable and entertaining story. It was an great addition to the New Orleans Ruthless Kings series!
MMC/FMC- Bones and Melissa POV- 1st person multiple Genre- MC Romance Heat- 🌋🌋🌋. They do the things and name the parts. Series? Y Safety: Y, meaning no cheating or s. violence. There’s also no OW/OM drama, and no cliffhanger. HEA. Triggers- The Biker’s Trifecta (language, violence, explicit erotic content), teenage hormones. Tropes- Workplace Romance, Damsel in Distress, Adorable Moppets, Not So Adorable Moppets, That’s Not My Leg, Love in an Elevator. What I liked- I liked the book and thought it was well written. I liked the characters and thought it was great to read different POVs. The pacing was good, with plenty of excitement. And I think the idea for the center is marvelous. What I didn’t- we didn’t have a center like that when I was growing up. Verdict- I recommend all of Savage’s books.

Bones is the sixth book in the Ruthless Kings NOLA Chapter series. I have read a couple of the books in this series and liked them. Bones is the story about Melissa and Bones. She teaches dance at the local community center. He is a member of the Ruthless Kings and has always thought he would be a bachelor for life, and a grumpy one at that. But that is until Melissa steps into his sight and then all heck breaks lose inside him. This is a good read with some characters from the previous books popping up and around, but nothing that I think you have to have read before. I liked Melissa and Bones as a couple, they are complicated and at odds at times as he fights the feelings she is bringing up in him. She is sweet and opposite of Bones but she still wants to be with him, with her whole heart.
Bones has never had a relationship with a women, let alone want to get married like his brothers are doing. There is something about the new dancer teacher at the youth center that draws him to her. He does not actually talk to her until someone tries to abduct her one night leaving the youth center.
Melissa has a crush on James/Bones since she started working at the youth center but he never talks to anyone accept her boss.
The pair have such chemistry but Bones is denying it is anything more than lust. He knows if his brothers find out anything they will not leave him alone. How long can he lie to himself? How will he react when he finds out the secret she has?.

I didn’t like this book as much as the others. KLSavage has been getting blocked and abused regarding the split of the authors and some stuff that happened with an anthology but I will still give the books a chance.
This was the worst one The first half is bones saying I don’t want a woman and. Need to forget about Melissa but I’m gonna keep going g out of my way to see her Then she gets kidnapped and it’s all I won’t say I love her but everyone knows I do
Just boring and also Ruthless Kings are not a gang they are a club which is what the C stands forMC
I sont know which one of the writes wrote this one but it’s not the best of the series
Any chance of getting Tank from the LV club or any from the AC club.
Lots of error on this book like previous ones. They we not from Tory to Tori. They went from Ruthless MC - a Motorcycle Club to a Gang.. Typos and sentence structures and just poorly edited in general takes away from the read. I liked the storyline and characters that were high listed in this chapter . Melissa is a great addition. Bones finally n gets his chapter. We get small glimpses of the kids Charlie and Daisy. Now if the author duo and this guest writers would actually edit and proof read and spend time reading each other's work before releasing it as a finished product it would make readers much happier. These errors just dumb down the book.
Melissa is intrigued by the man who comes every Friday to see her boss but he never gives the employees any attention. Bones isn't interested in finding a wife like his other brothers. He notices Melissa but isn't interested in starting anything with her.
Things change when he rescues her from being attacked one night. He figures he can have her without settling down.
This was a bit of a slow starter for me. It takes place a few years after the events of Snake's book. Not many of the brothers are left single.

Loved this book. Bones is a notorious playboy that will never settle like some of his other Mc brothers, Melissa is a dance instructor at the center for gifted children and she's had a crush on bones for months but he never showed interest until she's attacked outside the youth center. The more time he spends with her the more he's falling down that rabbit hole but what will happen when he finds out who her dad is? When she's in danger can he bring her back home safe?.

Wonderful read as the story was has a good flow of characters and suspense. Bones is one who is not willing to settle as he seen most of his club brothers have but when it comes to one night of saving Melissa, he instantly questions whether he is ready to go into a relationship while trying to protect her from danger that is surrounding her. It was also great seeing the growth that each of the previous characters have and how they balance their club life and family.

Bones and Melissa make a great duo. I love how Bones kept denying his feelings so as not to succumb like all his other MC brothers. There were some sad parts, but Bones really stepped up and took great care of Melissa. Melissa is the perfect woman for him! I loved that finally other MCs joined in but I wish there had been a little more detail on them so we could get to know them too. Another great read from this author.

I'm a huge fan of KL Savage. I've read all the Ruthless Kings various series, with a few exceptions still on my list. Each are unique in story, but with identifiable writing style. Bones is the exception. Impressive vocabulary here, but distracting in this genre. I was initially thinking it was the main character being uniquely himself, but it spilled over to the rest of the cast. It's a motorcycle club, never gang. There is no magic to speak of which is a main character itself in the Nola books. I just miss the down and dirty MC.
What happens when a confirmed bachelor meets his match and fights hard not to fall in love. Then Melissa is attacked and the protector emerges to save the day.
The struggles these tough bikers go through. The whole Ruthless Kings series has been a joy to read. If bikers and love is something you enjoy, then I recommend all these books. Las Vegas, Atlantic City, LaGrange, Baton Rouge and New Orleans are just a few of the places these men find adventure. Just a big and close family.
Bones didn’t have any plan to Seattle down like the rest of his MC brothers. But when Melissa enters his world and stops fighting the attraction he doesn’t know what hits him. It was fun to watch him figure what he wants to do with Melissa, but will it be too late when dangers come knocking on her door? One click to find out in this newest addition RUTHLESS KINGS MC NEW ORLEANS series that doesn’t disappoint.
This is the sixth story in the "Ruthless Kings MC" series. It is an amazing and intriguing story about Bones and Melissa. The story is fast paced with action, danger, suspense, passion, entertaining and good twists and turns. I love how this one develops and the witty banter! The characters are strong and likable! It is always fun to see how those determined to stay single tumble down the rabbit hole.
Bones and Melissa. Hes a biker. Shes teachers dance to gifted children. He sees all his brothers fall to their women and hes having none of that. He does work with the kids at the center to be close to her and keep her safe. Even though he doesnt want a relationship....yeah. Then shes taken and everything changes. Loved this story and charecters.

Another fabulous addition to the Ruthless Kings universe! I loved seeing Bones fall so hard after being such a grumpy confirmed bachelor for so long. Melissa is his perfect match in every way. She’s the sunshine to his grumpy! Their road to HEA is a bit bumpy but we’ll worth it. I’m gonna need to see them with kids and getting married in the future though. He’s going to lose his mind.
This story is definitely different than the other NOLA books. Bones doesn't have a gift nor does Melissa. It was a good storyline. A good switch where female lead is the one with the crush and more pursuant towards the male lead. What I am very confused about it the ending. Does this mean the are in fact getting married or are they not? Because there is too much talk about a piece of paper isn't needed but then the ring is slipped on?

Bones (James) has no interest in a relationship especially since the majority of the Ruthless Kings MC are either married or in a long term relationship. Until his life got entangled with Dance Teacher -Mellissa who is working in a youth centre that he volunteers in that's ran by a bikers wife. I liked the dynamic between Mellissa and Bones even if he can't seem to make his mind up about Mellissa all the way through this book. Still a good read though and a great addition to this series.
This is the sixth book in this fascinating series and this is Bones and Melissa's story. This is a well written story which is an action packed emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, loyalty, danger, suspense, intrigue, challenges, romance, humour, witty banter, twists, and love, which all leads to an entertaining and thrilling addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
K.L. Savage brings the family bonds and MC drama like very few do. I love letting myself get lost in this world with characters who have become like friends that you love to visit and catch up on all the drama and romance in their lives.
Great story and looking forward to seeing my book family again. I received an ARC for an honest review.
I gave this book a 2 star rating despite being a huge K.L. Savage fan. This book just didn't pull me into the story like her previous books. And I found this couple lacked chemistry. I also wanted to learn more about Bones' background. I felt like in prior books we learned more about the MMC's history than we did in this book. That being said, I will always read a K.L. Savage book.
Bones’ story was not what I expected. I never dreamed this sworn bachelor was be taken down the way he was. He never saw it coming. The other guys give him such a hard time. But man is he loyal to no end! Great storyline I love these guys in Louisiana!.

This was another fantastic story in this great series. I really enjoyed all of the ups and downs, as well as the unexpected twists and turns that led to the impossible. Lol! A fantastic addition to this series. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
