Remedy Stevens, a former plus-size model turned entrepreneur, spent three years building herself back up after a horrible breakup. Using her heartbreak as motivation, she built a beautiful career and now she has found her purpose and true self. She also found a friend in her next-door neighbor, Sea. From the moment she saw those sea-green eyes, she was captivated. His sexy exterior and low profile is what she finds attractive, but it’s his enchanting soul that keeps pulling her across the street. She can’t help but think about if she’s ready to jump into anything with another man.
As an artist, Sea Marcel can find beauty in everything. So, it’s not hard for him to be easily mesmerized by Remedy. She was compassionate, confident, and curvaceous—all the things he wanted in a partner. After promising himself he wouldn’t pursue another woman until he got himself together, he finds himself in the friend zone with his neighbor and now best friend. With his first solo show approaching, it’s time to take claim of the woman he always desired but couldn’t have.
When Sea starts seeking out Remedy in a more romantic nature, she’s apprehensive. But as he lies on the thick layers of love, she has no choice but to fall under the charm of the man who she knew won her heart two years ago. What happens when the past is demanding answers to all the unanswered questions? Will Sea and Remedy have it all after going through so much, or will it all be too much, realizing they’re better off as friends?
Lover of words, Kaye Lovett writes contemporary romance with heart twisting plots and soul-tying spice. Using an open-mind approach, she’s not afraid to tap on the subjects of polyamory and play on stigmas, using them to her advantage to create alluring tales. Under B. Love Publications, Kaye debuted her novel, Void. While enjoying the success of her first novel, she looks forward to her second and the many titles she hopes to release in the future. Now residing in North Carolina, Kaye spends her days building a name for herself in the literary world. When she’s not working on books, she takes time to hang out with friends and family, take beach trips, and find hidden gems to visit throughout her state. Kaye aspires to one day write screenplays and see one of her books in film, but for now she hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams as she has.
This was a beautiful friends to lovers story. I absolutely loved Sea and the relationship he had with Remedy, and his siblings. Sea loved Remedy and wasn't afraid to show it. Download and read it! You won't be disappointed.
Remedy faced a heart wrenching disappointment when she believed she was about to get engaged; however, her hopes were dashed when his father, who exerted control over every aspect of his life, selected a woman for him to marry. Left at a pivotal crossroads, she ultimately chose to prioritize herself.
The narrative kicks off with an immediate jolt as she steps into the midst of a chaotic family dynamic, where she appears to be the only rational individual in the entire household.
The chemistry between Remedy and Sea is electric. Remedy recognizes his deep affection for her, while also being aware of her fears. He approaches their relationship with patience, taking care to move at a comfortable pace.
The introduction of Sea's sister and Blake adds depth to the story. Emerald serves as a beacon of hope, having endured significant hardship after being abandoned by their parents. Their grandmother offered them a place to stay, yet they were largely left to fend for themselves. I found a personal connection to this narrative, having helped raise my siblings during my mother’s illness. It was truly poignant to witness how they emerged from their struggles, overcoming the pain and trauma that had once defined their lives.
This is my second book for this author, and let me tell you! She has me in such a grip. I love authors who write black men with emotion and vulnerability, love, and respect for their family and loved ones. Sea, you're so patient you allowed remedy the time to work through her fears after what had happened to her and you support her through it all. The emotions these two pull from each other were beautiful, and their families and friends support them as a couple of what I dream of for myself. When the time came , I met my better half. My only issue with this book was the secret Remedy was keeping when it came to her ex and the money and that whole situation I didn't like that and also Sea when he went and met with his ex as well they both hide what they until it almost cost them their relationship. I also love how they both support each other career she has a former model now a store owner and him as a artist it was so beautiful to see.
I really enjoyed this story and getting to experience this couples’ journey from strangers to best friends to lovers to happily ever after. I loved that this book showed how both focused on their healing individually and achieving their goals while supporting each other and building their bond through friendship before delving into a relationship. They both were ready to be in a relationship and put in the work that it takes to make a relationship work, which was so refreshing to read because it’s not everyday that you see this whether it be in real life or fiction. Sea and Remedy were perfect for each other and I loved their connection and how they could be soft with each other. I enjoyed most of the secondary characters as well. This was a great read that I would recommend.
This was a beautiful story of love and healing. Sea loved Remedy unconditionally, and he never wavered in that love. She was truly his rib. I appreciate the fact that he waited three years to act on his love. It was love at first sight for him, but he knew that he needed to heal and grow just like Remedy needed, too. Family was what he always wanted, and that's exactly what he received.
I had a great time reading this one. Friends to lovers but with a twist. Nigel needed a real reality check that his brother tried to give him. Glad it worked out the way it did. Sea is a man among men. He knew what, when, why and how. Remedy deserved all the love he offered. Great book!
This is such a beautiful written book. I'm not usually into friends to lovers, but I must say I enjoyed this book. I like the main characters and all the supporting characters. Remedy and Sea I enjoyed their individual stories, and they're coming together. It was a complete book, and I love that. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
I glad the couple was able to heal each other through past trauma experiences. It made their bond very strong with taking friendship to another level. Despite, Remedy heartbreak from Nigel it was great to see her open her heart again to loving Sea. I really loved the progressing of this book from beginning to the end.
Remedy was truly one of a kind and she definitely knew her worth. I’m glad she dodged a bullet with Nigel. She left a lasting impression! Sea was everything a book Bae should be and more💜
My man, my man, MY MAN!!!! Sea Marcel, whew!!! This author said “Imma give the readers another book bae to fight over.” and DELIVERED!!! Sea played not one game when it came to Remedy. She was his and he was hers!!! The love that jumped off the pages was chef’s kiss 👌🏾 I finished days ago and I’m still swooning! If Thinking of Forever is on your TBR go ahead and move it up on the list!!! Happy reading 💖
This was a beautiful love. I loved the way Sea always communicated with Remedy when they had a problem he didn't let her run away. Remedy's ex and his entire family was the worst. I'm glad she ended up with who was meant for her.
Oh this was beautiful. It was patient. It was admirable. It was warm. Sea and Remedy were perfect. I love that they didn’t go to the extreme with each other when at odds. I love how Sea affirmed Remedy in her beauty. I love how Remedy supported his art and his dreams. It was perfect
This was a good read from beginning to end. I love the patience Sea showed with Remedy. I also like that there wasn’t a third act breakup, they talked through every issue that came about. Definitely recommend reading this
