Read this and attended a Professional Development training session. The ideas sounded great and I made the effort to implement the ideas in my classroom. After a month of use it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference to be honest. Although I am very curious if anything will ever be effective in a low-income part of town where the children are all caught in a tragically vicious circle.

I really like how this book broke the process down. And had guided practice. I wish it had discussed learning progressions in the way I learned them, but otherwise it was great!
