Chase and Jerrod have more than expected !

Firefighter Chase and Electrician Jerrod met at the house fire, where Chase rescued young Peter. Jerrod’s brother passed away and Jerrod is his guardian, because the Mom was not fit to raise Peter.
We do have problems with the woman, but also with the amount of fires being set. The police and Fire Department need to find this person.
Chase is constantly there for Jerrod and Peter, and they like him being around. Feelings are growing, but it’s a slow burn because of all the excitement of the fire’s mysterious happenings.
We get suspense, investigations and slow romancing.
It’s fun sometimes, as we see how well the men and boy get along, but the tension is present, too.
The wrap up is terrific !
ENJOY !

Chase is a firefighter called to a fire where he rescues a six year old name Peter from a house. Chase hands him over to his dad who shows up.

Jerrod and Peter lost the house but thanks to Chase seeing Peter he's safe. Chase also looks into getting Jerrod somewhere to stay after it turns out it wasn't an accident but arson behind it.

There are other fires happening and then Peter's mom who has no rights to him shows up. Jerrod is raising him after his brother died. She's causing drama and more stress on Jerrod especially when she snatches him.

We get some past characters in the way of Hayden from book one. Also we get Red from the series that started Carlisle Cops. He still is dear to me.

The romance with Jerrod and Chase is sweet and romantic. Chase adores Peter as he spends time with him and his dad. More than once Chase is there to protect them as well. By the end they have worked together with the cops to get to the bottom of what's going on.

Can't wait for more in this series. Andrew has done another awesome job.

"Up in Flames" is similar to Carlisle Fire #1 in that arson is the main focus, but the characters are unique, and the type of arson is different. One of the joys of reading Andrew Grey is his attention to detail. It's crucial that people in an industry find no fault in the explanations given by the author, even if that field is unknown to the author before writing the book. Grey does his research, and that alone sets him apart from the many authors of M/M romance novels, who, quite frankly, are so interested in writing the next hot sex scene that the storyline lacks continuity and, in many cases, believability.

I thought this was a fun and entertaining read, Andrew Grey really delivers with the mystery, the passion and the romance! Jerrod and Chase are great together and easy to root for! They meet under intense circumstances and it’s natural for them to wonder if that’s what makes their connection so intense, but no these two are just meant to be and their feelings may be fast but they are deep!

Chase is a new firefighter and one of his first calls is house fire where he sees a young boy still in a house and goes in to rescue him. That boy happens to Peter, Jerrod’s son and that is how these two meet. There is an instant connection and Chase wants to help them right from the first meeting. As he investigates the cause of the fire he doesn’t believe it’s a simple electrical fire, which is a relief to Jerrod, who happens to be an electrician but it opens up a lot of mystery around exactly how this fire started and why.

I really enjoyed this story, it was a really good mix of romance and mystery as Chase and Jerrod navigate a tentative new relationship and try to figure out the dangerous fires happening around town and the target that seems to be on Jerrod. There is plenty of heat, action, surprises and sweetness in this book and while it was a pretty quick read I felt like it was a full and complete journey. Chase, Jerrod and Peter come together to make a wonderful family who all deserve so much love and happiness. Overall, a great read and one I would definitely recommend!

Who is setting the fires, and why and a romance ensues

Andrew Grey has masterfully crafted a mystery surrounding some intentionally set fires in Carlisle. The first fire involves Jerrod Whipkey's adopted son, Peter, who is rescued from their burning home by a new firefighter, Chase van Casten.

Chase also helps investigate the cause of the fire. Upon learning that the owner is an electrician whose reputation would be ruined if it were revealed that his wiring caused the fire, the investigation takes a different turn. However, it is ultimately determined to be arson. Throughout this compelling story, there are other fires, most of which seem connected to ongoing construction work in the community. The mystery and connections develop gradually as the story unfolds. Meanwhile, Chase falls in love with Peter's father, Jerrod. The two genuinely connect and develop true appreciation for each other. Chase's love is accepted by Jerrod, who has seen that his brother wishes for him to take care of his son if anything were to happen to him.

The story progresses with the mystery of the fires being unraveled, alongside the romance between Chase and Jerrod. It is a wonderful tale filled with engaging energy that makes readers eager to learn more about the couple and the mystery.

Of course, it ends with a happy-ever-after, and I am grateful that Andrew Grey left the corporate world to write these wonderful stories.

Thoughts: Like the other book in the series, this is set in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I love being able to say “I know that place” as the characters take us around the town. There’s enough detail so you know where you are, and even if you don’t know the town, you’ll get a good idea of the setting. The characters are realistic and believable, as are the problems they face.

In this one, Jerrod is an electrician who is raising his 4-year-old nephew. A fire occurs at their house and Chase, a new fireman, saves the little boy, giving him an introduction to the family. As he’s trying to help Jerrod out, he discovers that an arsonist is responsible for the fire, as well as several others around town. Someone is out to get rid of Jerrod and Chase can’t have that. The two work together with the police and investigators to figure out what’s going on and how to stop it before the fires turn deadly. Meanwhile Jerrod and Chase grow closer to forming a family of three.

Recommended.
