Austen Page is everything I want in a man.
Brilliant. Gorgeous. Loyal.
There’s only one major problem.
He’s straight.
Or at least I think he is.
I’ve never seen him date, never heard him mention wanting someone.
And I surely would have heard since he’s my best friend’s younger brother.
When pressure rises from all directions, a plan comes forth. One in which Austen helps by pretending to be my boyfriend.
My matchmaking parents will stop pestering me to settle down, and then I’ll be able to write another hit album for my label.
It’s totally foolproof since Austen has never seen me that way.
There is no chance of it getting messy or complicated.
Except…
Things start feeling a lot less fake and a little more real with each day that passes.
I fight between wanting more with him and begging to take things slower so I can savor every moment.
Can forever really exist between us if it starts with a lie?

Slower is a fake dating MM romance between a burned out rockstar and his best friends younger brother. It features a slight age gap, forced proximity, bi-awakening, and a touch of hurt/comfort. There is an HEA. This story is meant for readers 18+.

**There is no Daddy dynamic in this story**

This was very weird and not in the fun way, also this is not a bi-awakening, Austen literally says he’s never felt attraction to anyone before, also how is Corrin supposed to be the lead singer of a band when his bandmates never appear or are involved in the album making process?

Ummm, what even is this? A slow burn, yeah, right... The bi-awakening happens overnight. One of the biggest record labels in the world is sold for 5 million $?! Yes, million. The main character is in a band, and is writing new music, and the record label is bought specifically for them, but the bandmates are never heard from or seen?! The billionaire buying the label is in a Daddy/little relationship with a guy who is constantly (and I mean for hours!!!, during business meetings) sitting on his lap?! 🤯 Oh, and, but the way, everybody and their brother is in a Daddy/little relationships...I don't know, but the notion that somebody else will "allow" me to speak is just disgusting to me. My first and I guess last book by this author.

Weird

This felt like the first half was AI generated. The second half was slightly better but still a little bizarre. Did not feel like the author has ever had human interaction. None of the dialogue or actions of the characters felt realistic

Slower is a mm romance standalone

This is your vibe if to like
Short reads
Rockstars
Brother best friend
Fake dating

First time reading the author and i think their books are de tin the same world where they overlap but can be read as standalones. This is one of those I didn’t love it, but I didn’t have it kinda reads. It was easy to read but the plot was very obvious and didn’t really have a whole lot of depth.

What an awesome book!!

I absolutely loved ever single page of this book. I loved how Corrin and Austen came together and especially how their love developed, it was so beautifully written.

Corrin is a lead singer and writer for the band ‘Loveless’, but he’s hit a writers block, exhausted and being pressured by his parents he heads to his best friend’s. Only his friends has a little brothers he’s lůsted over for years. Austen is a financial student and intern. He’s stoic and not a people person but because he was a football star and model handsome, was popular with the girls, which just irritated him. So a plan was formed for their mutual benefit - fake boyfriends.

Only their faking became the real deal!! 💕
I loved the ending, so beautiful I won’t more, it ended far too quickly!

If I take a story without thinking too deeply about it, it was great. I liked the story and the main characters. It was a story without angst, and it's been a long time since I had such a relaxing read without heartbreak in the middle.
But then reality kicks in, and some things just don't make sense. How can someone bring their boyfriend to an official office meeting and have him in his lap all the time? Where is the band people were talking about? And if the band is just a backup for a lead, why it wasn't explained? 5 million for a top record company? When was this story set for this money to make sense?
And I am not sure I can speak about the character development and acceptance of sexuality? Too easy, maybe? Or maybe the author mixed something up on that front. I don't know. And even sex scenes were not quite right. They were hot. It just built up weren't there.
So...
Just to be clear, I'm not regretting reading the story.
It just felt like a story skipped a couple of editing stages.

This is a best friend’s brother to more romance, featuring Corrin and Austen, and is a standalone.

I think this is my first book by AW Scott and I totally jumped in because I liked the cover (yes, I am a marketer’s dream).

I really enjoyed it. It was a slow burn and low angst but there was something so sweet about Corrin and Austen. I think Austen might be on the Ace spectrum, so his bi awakening was an awakening of attraction in general as well as to a man.

There are some very interesting side characters in this story and from looking at AW Scott’s book catalogue, there is a lot of Daddy/boy type relationships. Which of course is intriguing.

I would definitely recommend this one if you need something light to read.

Things to expect in this book are:
Standalone
MM romance
Slow burn & low angst
Best friend’s brother
Friends
Rockstar x college student
Secret crush
Fake dating
Small age gap (30/23)
Size difference
Forced proximity
Bi awakening
Little bit of spice & dirty talk
Slight hurt / comfort
Sweet HEA

Musician Corrin was being pressurised and set up by his family with suitable women. The only person he really wants is his best friend's younger brother Austin Page but he appears to be straight and constantly bothered by women flirting with him. So to solve both of their problems they arrange for Austin to be his fake boyfriend. Noe Austin can write music for the next album. Things start feeling a lot less fake and a little more real with each passing day. Corrin fights between wanting more with him and begging to take things slower so he can savour every moment.
Can forever really exist between them if it starts with a lie?

I loved this story of the two men who wanted each other but thought Corrin's best friend who was also Austin's older brother meant that they couldn't. I loved that Austin was Corrin's muse and the full album reveal which was emotional. A story of passion and love that was easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

ok

Just ok. I loved the plot and the MC’s but there was something off about it. Idk if they were introduced more thoroughly in previous books but it read like I should know all about them. Like I should already know heights, looks, personalities, etc. Plus to be honest, didn’t feel the connection b/w the MC’s either. Didn’t really seem like much happened before they went from fake dating to real. I’m also always surprised when someone goes from being almost asexual (not that Austen is labeled that but that is how it reads before turning more demisexual) and yet there is no build up or surprise about having a hot soccer player 23 yr old virgin with no dating/sexual experience.

2.5/5 Very middle of the road for me.

Rock star fake dates best friends brother. Brother is demisexual. Both had crushes prior. insta lust or insta love. Kinda slow the entire time. HEA ending. I got it for free from stuff your kindle day.

This reads like it is the third in a series. Just based off of character interactions and storylines already within the book. I though both the older brother of Corbin and the uncle of Pace brothers both had through own love stories before this. I am shocked looking here that this book is not tagged as a series. It reads that way. It’s kinda odd looking back at the description knowing it’s not now.

I really enjoyed this book! I don't always enjoy rockstar romances, but this one was really good. Corrin and Austen were so cute together. I would say that I wouldn't classify it as a bi-awakening because Austen says he has never been attracted to any girls. However, I enjoyed the writing and the story. It was definitely fast paced, but that is exactly what I was looking for. I always love a good fake dating trope. There were a few logistical things missing because Corrin is in a band, but his bandmates aren't really mentioned in the book.

Wow!

Now this is a rockstar book I can get behind. It was beautiful to read how Austen figured things out. I was so happy with how things went for Corrin too. Plus all the familiar faces made my day.

What a great take on the normal fake dating trope! Thank god Tenn as a brother didn't hate that his best friend fell for his brother. Or that Corin and Austen didn't try to hide their feelings and made the beautiful relationship toxic. I am so glad and satisfied with how the story ended. Beautiful!

The title fit this story for me, I'm afraid I found it a little bit slow, but I did finish as I was quite drawn to the two main characters, their journey was touching. I'm always a sucker for a "Fake Boyfriend" trope and this is a nice love story, just a touch slow, for me anyway.

DNF. Cardboard characters on a treadmill. The story progressed so quickly and without reason, I could hardly keep up. The characters had no description, background or reality to them. Not for me at all.

This, was a book.
For a stand-alone this felt, like I knew nothing about the main characters and questioned everything about the supporting established characters.
It felt like a first draft waiting to be fleshed out more.

It wasn't badly written but the logistics in this one have left the chat. His bandmates - I don't think were mantion once. Not a bi awakening but just awakening in general. Plus I get it this one is tiny and the other one is huge not need to mention it every six pages.

This a was a great read. There was no break up breaks that made that the plot less than what it was. It was a grwat fluff read.

Clunky writing and pacing issues. The concept is good, but everything seems rushed
