Steven Morris, the Earl of Heath, agrees to Harriet Nash's plan to help her find a husband in exchange for her help in finding a rich wife for himself, not suspecting that Harriet's real goal is marriage to him.
The heroine just kept throwing herself at him, and he kept resisting, or just fanning the physical flames. I never really felt like he gave a damn about anything other than sex. The HEA was resolved too quickly for him to have earned it. If it had been a contemporary, I would have called her a doormat.
I got about 3/4 of the way through this book and realized I was about to get frustrated with the heroine's angst. I'm just not in the mood to feel frustrated. I'm skipping the rest of the book, but the first part was pretty good.
So this is the 2nd book I have read by this author and I had no idea it was rated "Hot"! Have to skip so much there is nothing left. As a sequel to a cooler book, it was a shock! Even the story seemed worse for wear since all the focus was on the sex! Yikes!
