This is a staple Samantha Wilde book: fast paced, steamy, full of action and of course a HEA even when at times that feels impossible.
Here we have Rami, who we met in the last book. He starts off as mysterious and moody as ever but it doesn’t take too long before he opens up.
He is tasked with finding Ivy, an average citizen who’s been kidnapped in daylight from a grocery store’s parking lot. When he agrees? He doesn’t realise that he is taking on the mission of his life.
As soon as he lies eyes on her, he knows she’s special. Their love story develops pretty quickly from there and the general plot is the two trying to escape the trafficking ring that Rami rescued her from.
We meet Ivy’s twin and there is something strange going on between her and Rami’s friend August.
I would recommend this book if you’re looking for fast paced action, quite a bit of hot times and of course intrigue!

This was goooood. I hadn’t read anything else by Samantha going into this so was blind so to speak, however I was not disappointed and found myself well and truly hooked from page one. This was a gripping story full of suspense and just the right amount of spice to tell the tale of Rami and Ivy.
I adored them both so much and felt they were very well written characters who I couldn’t wait to read more about as I raced through the pages. I’m super glad this is book one in a new series as I need the next one as soon as possible. This may well be a new go to author for me. My only criticism is I would have preferred it written in first person but that’s a me thing.

Right from chapter 1,I knew I was this book was going to be INTENSE! This book was amazing, hot & captivating! I was stress reading through the chapters & savoring all the juicy scenes! The MMC is perfection 👌 🫠💦 & the FMC was a bad a$$ b!tch! This book is one that MUST be owned & I am absolutely looking forward to the next one! I haven't read something this intense in such a long time. Action packed for sure.

DNF. Started off really well and I was really enjoying it. It went rapidly downhill.
So disappointed. It starts off brilliantly, with an exciting rescue but it rapidly goes downhill and it’s ridiculous! I was really enjoying it and I couldn’t put it down at first. 😭
Rami and the grumpy Toth own a security company, and they’re both ex military, along with August one of their employees. When Ivy is kidnapped while on the phone with her twin sister Gigi, her sister goes to Rami for help. Rami is very reluctant at first but eventually agrees to help her. This is where it’s really exciting as they launch a rescue mission to get Ivy back from suspected traffickers.
So what went wrong? Ivy is practically dead when they find her, she’s been drugged with heroin (They suspected but never confirmed.) and rohypynal (Sorry about spelling.) severely emaciated and dehydrated. A few times on the way home they think she’s not going to make it. So nearly a week later she’s running away from an attacker, fighting her attacker off, 🙄 eating a huge plate of food, and having sex with Rami. 😂 So no side effects? No addiction to the heroin, after being injected constantly? No problems with eating? It’s beyond ridiculous and it totally spoilt it.
Then there’s the relationship with Rami and Ivy. He starts out being really caring towards a severely traumatised Ivy. Then he gets scared so leaves her with Gigi and doesn’t contact her at all for days. Charming. Then he decides that he does like her so agrees to guard her for a few days and then he’s falling in love with her. Ay??? What the …. happened there? It felt way too rushed.

This book had me in my emotions! Ivy was just doing what we all do on an everyday basis, and bam! This book was written so well that it felt like I was in there with her! And the way at first Rami was skeptical about the rescue of Gigi's sister Ivy..but as soon as Rami has her in his arms and out of that trailer...it turned on the side of him that is protective and the journey of healing starts for Ivy..until...and with all this I couldn't stop and put this book down! Just when you think everything's in the clear, there's a twist that happens and makes you just scream on the inside at who is behind it all! If you enjoy a dark captive mixed with action..spice everything good, read this book!!

This is book one in The Chosen Few series and it is Rami and Ivy’s story and what a great start to a new series. When Ivy is kidnapped and ready to be trafficked she is drugged, abused, starved and beaten so badly that she didn’t think that she would survive and it was only by sheer willpower and determination that she wouldn’t let them break her spirit and when she was on the brink of death she is rescued but knows that she has a long road to recovery ahead of her but is determined to eventually be able to move forward with her life. Rami is a former black ops and now runs a security company and when Gigi arrives and asks him to find and rescue her sister Ivy he says no at first but Gigi is determined and will not let it go because she wants her sister back home so in the end Rami gives in not knowing that his life is about to change and rescuing Ivy will also start a war with the Mexican Cartel. Wow the connection and attraction between Remi and Ivy is so strong but will he be able to protect her when danger arrives because they are determined to get Ivy back, well only time will tell what the outcome will be for them in the end. There are twists and turns, danger, action, suspense, drama, chaos, kidnapping, abuse, drugs, great characters, hot scenes and a few surprises that will have you turning the pages while on the edge of your seat and unable to put this book down because it is so addictive. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed.

This book reminded me a little bit of the Cat & Mouse duet, but not quite as dark. So, I would say for those that haven’t/don’t want to read the C&M duet because of the noncon, this story may be better suited for you. It still has the k!dnapped/traff!cked aspect, and the “I will find you” vibe, but less intense. Also, in the case, the MMC doesn’t know the FMC beforehand. So while it is a similar vibe, it’s a different storyline and worth the read!
Add in some sexy ex military bodyguards and some spice… and it will keep you up late & flipping pages to find out what happens!
The writing was well done, and the author does a great job with giving you dual pov.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. I do wish the main characters had a little bit more interaction before the instalove set in, even just a day or a dinner. Either way, I would still recommend this book. Make sure to check trigger warnings !

SO GOOD!
I finished this book in 5 hours.
I am a huge fan of fiercely protective, would burn the world for her, touch her and you ☠️ book. They will forever be my weakness.
That aside, the plot of this book was just all around great in my opinion. I did at the start wonder why we heard what we did about August and Zain and then it was just done, but I’m RIDICULOUSLY excited for them to have their own books!
I loved reading about Ivy’s journey, her survival, and her strength. I also can’t tell you how much I LOVE LOVE LOVED Rami immediately after rescue, how helpful he was but gentle and always making sure not to do anything that would trigger her or scare her. Gotta love a big tough man with a teddy bear interior!
There’s so much I could say about this book but it would be full of spoilers! But this is definitely one I will recommend to others and will be added to my comfort reread list!! 💜

My Dark Angel
Rami Mitry does not consider himself a compassionate person, but something about Ivy Hastings’s photo twists his heart. It does not matter how smokin’ hot she is though, he is not getting involved in something he cannot finish. Backcounty Protection Services is a bodyguard service. Ivy is not in need of protection. She is in need of a search and rescue team. This case screams abduction and probably by human traffickers. However when Ivy’s sister, Gigi, offers him a hundred grand to find Ivy, he is not stupid enough to turn her down. I absolutely loved this crossover from Samantha Wilde’s “Blood Brothers” series. It is fast paced and loaded with spicy chemistry, action, danger and suspense. The unexpected twists and turns kept me on edge till the end. Can’t wait to find out more about Gigi and August's story next. Samantha Wilde is definitely the queen of writing thrilling steamy suspense romances.

This book is SO GOOD! I could not put it down!
I've been in a bit of a book rut, and this book certainly fixed that! Rami is filled with nonstop action. I was hooked from the first page. It has the perfect balance between suspense and spice. It does have a HEA, but boy was it stressful getting there! Rami and Ivy are such a cute duo, and I really hope there are little updates about them in future books.
Even though this book is a crossover with the Blood Brothers series, it 100% stands by itself. There's just enough mention of other characters to spark interest in their stories, but not enough that you feel like you are missing any major plot points. Rami is a little spicier than some of the others, but I haven't finished the full Blood Brothers series yet to compare. Samantha's books are always so well polished! If there were any typos at all, I didn't notice them.
12/10, would definitely recommend this one!! I can't wait for the next installment!

Samantha Wilde HAD me salivating to read this just with the blurb alone!!!
She did not disappoint at all! Rami was an action-filled read, VERY plot-heavy, and twists throughout. I loved that while there was a romantic suspense aspect to this, the action really made the read a million times better. There wasn't a moment where I was not captivated by Samantha's writing, it was a page-turner to find out what happens next between Rami and Ivy. Rami was a HOT, possessive, touch-her-and-die vibes MMC and I was here for it!!! Ivy was really going through it with the kidnapping and everything else until Rami came to save her from it all (swooning!) Their chemistry with each other was INTENSE and I loved the instant love troupe shining between them.

Dark Secy Angel..... Rami Miltry, x-black ops now co-owner of BackCountry Protection Services is persuaded by his friend also x-black ops medic, August into finding Gigi twin sister, Ivy. Ivy apparently went missing a few weeks ago, with no reason why or leads, she could be anywhere in the world by now. This story is full of danger, abuse, Mexican cartel involvement, life and death situations, drugs, hot guys and self-preservation. Rami must find a way to find and save Ivy somehow which is like finding a needle in a haystack. Ivy is taken by Mexican cartel; her new reality is a form of torture from hell, that is until a dark handsome angel appears. Ivy is such a brave woman, with a fierce thirst for life and not willing to give up considering her horrific circumstances. There is a few type-0s in this book, but it will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, nail biting drama as well as instant attraction, and sexy times.

This is a fast paced, steamy romance full of suspense. It’s full of action, violence, and love. I read a review where the reviewer said the story suspended belief and I thought I’m not reading these books for realism. I’m reading them for the possessive love, the touch her and y’all die energy, and the willingness of the man to lay his life down for the woman he loves. That love and the action are the selling points for me.

Wow what a great book, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the action-packed suspense and twist that will keep you engaged and captivated all the way through. When Ivy was kidnapped, her sister went and hired a security team with Rami at the lead to find her. This is how the book starts and wow it just kept getting better. Both Rami and Ivy have an instant attraction to each other and Ivy leans on Rami the most as she feels safe with him. While he tries to keep himself professional it doesn't take long for the attraction to take over and the steam was perfection. I loved the characters and the story line it all worked so well together and gave us an exceptional story. I can't wait to see what comes with Ivy's sister Gigi and August next. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Rami proves, as the story unfolds, that he will do anything to keep her and her family safe. Samantha Wilde did an amazing job of keeping me on the edge of my seat as I read her newest masterpiece. The writing was well done, and the author does a great job with giving you dual pov. There are twists and turns, danger, action, suspense, drama, chaos, kidnapping, abuse, drugs, great characters, hot scenes and a few surprises. A definite must read! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I was completely hooked on this intense wild ride full of danger, intrigue, abuse, passion, fear, you won't be able to put down this heart stopping suspense filled drama.

Rami breaks into where Ivy's being held shes trys yo stab him at first nit knowing he's there to save her.
When Ivy looks into Rami's eyes he makes her feel safe in his arms & she's about to survive her horrific ordeal.
Rami sees how strong & unbroken Ivy is she's a survivor making him feel things for her but he knows the Cartel will want retribution for him saving her.
Will Rami & Ivy get a HEA, will the Cartel create more problems they want her dead its a must read to see how it all turns out.

This is an intense start to a new series and is full of danger, teamwork, steamy chemistry, a cartel, human trafficking, protective alphas, and a HEA. Rami is reluctant to take on the kidnapping case of Ivy Hastings, but once he agrees he is all in and will not stop until they find/rescue her. Ivy has few lucid moments after she's kidnapped, but she knows she needs to do whatever she can to try and escape.
Once they've rescued Ivy, the danger is by no means over. And little do they know what is awaiting them. This story is very well-written and had me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next with a pretty big surprise toward the end. I loved how protective Rami was and Ivy's core of strength that wouldn't allow her to give up.

This book was a really good bodyguard romance. Plenty of spice and plenty of trauma. It was very fast paced and so much was happening that I didn’t have time to get bored. I can’t wait to read more books in this series. 4 out of 5 stars.

These two are well matched and will battle the against the odds to get their HEA in this well written read.

This book is very fast paced and there’s always something crazy happening. I will say, I don’t typically enjoy instalove, but the way it was written in this story wasn’t super over the top, so it didn’t deter me from enjoying the overall story. Great story! Rami and Ivy were a perfect match and their chemistry sizzled. Wonderful characters, great banter, exciting plot full of suspense, and an excellent twist. With a fast-paced storyline full of intensity and danger I was easily drawn into the book and read it in one sitting. Just couldn’t put it down. I loved Ivy’s strength and resilience and Remi’s protective touch her and die vibes. Excited for the next book!

Having been introduced to Rami's character in the Blood Brothers series, I was intrigued and looked forward to his story. The book is a fast-paced story with drama, danger, intensity, and insta attraction / love that sizzles with chemistry. The book is written with vivid imagery, playing like a movie in my mind as I read chapter after chapter. Ivy and Rami are put through the emotional and physical gauntlet before they get their definitely deserved HEA. The book also sets up the beginnings of what should be a very entertaining series.

Wow. 10/10. I normally gravitate towards dark smutty romance. But this book really caught my attention and boy it didn’t disappoint!
I find a lot of books are all smut, no plot. But Rami had it all 👏🏼.
Ivy is super relatable and I immediately fell in love with her character, Rami is bada$$ and everything I crave in a book boyfriend 👀
This book kept me on the edge of my seat, tearing through the pages to try and keep up with the excitement.
The spice did not disappoint either. Very very well done!

A fast paced, action packed read!
The story of Ivy and Rami was so imaginative, we know it is highly unlikely to happen in reality but that is what we love, the fantasy, the brooding military man swooping in to rescue the abused, drugged woman for them to fall in love. It does not come without further action though as of course a cartel never just goes away and gives up. The character development in this is wonderful, the story captivating and fast paced. Looking forward to reading August's story.

This book had such potential and I was invested for the first part. The ex special ops MMC, the kidnapping storyline etc was all good but the writing in parts gave me the ick.
The way the MMC, who is ex army, muscles, tattoos calls his enemy a dummy, multiple times 🙄 also the amount of sound effects written into the story. When Ivy heard a loud noise coming towards her “kerplunk” over and over again like some kind of superhero comic. Nope! This took a star off the rating. Back to my reading slump I go 😒

OMG Soooo Good!
I finished this book in 2 days and still wanted more. Even with a great HEA, you don't want to leave these characters.
From the first chapter, I was sucked in! There is so much action, such vivid descriptions, that you are immediately sucked into Ivy and Rami's world. Samantha writes drama with such feeling that I couldn't put it down. Ivy's kidnapping scenes were so realistic and I love how she fought tooth and nail and through injury to try to win her freedom and take down a few villains in the process. LOVE Ivy!! And Gigi and their twin link.
Remi is her hunky "dark angel" and you feel their connection from the moment he rescues Ivy. I love his protectiveness and that smoldering intensity :) He doesn't try to fight his pull to Ivy which makes it all the sweeter. Perfect couple! Amazing novel! Heart-squeezing happily ever after <3
