What do you do when your monster wants to be Santa CLAWS?
Orvos is probably the grumpiest Gryn on Ustokos. The grouchy healer spends his time growling at any warrior who enters his domain to be treated and his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired.
He's also not prepared to let me help, at all, despite my medical qualifications and his haughty behaviour and dismissive attitude towards me mean we're hardly the best of friends.
And then I go and open my big mouth to say we should share the celebration of Christmas with the Gryn.
There's only one problem, we need one of these huge winged warriors to be our Father Christmas. So it comes as a huge surprise when Orvos actually offers to play Santa for all the younger Gryn.
Admittedly, the big grump thinks he's going to be Santa Claws, but as no one else is offering and Christmas is quickly approaching, it looks like I don't have a choice, even if it means we're going to have to work closely together.
The more time I spend with Orvos, the more I can't ignore my growing attraction to the big, burly but oh-so-gentle warrior turned healer. But as soon as we get close, he pulls away.
Now, not only can I not lose Orvos, I have to save Christmas too, because a Christmas without Santa Claws is no Christmas at all.
From USA TODAY Bestselling Author Hattie Jacks - A short, spicy/sweet age gap romance between two lost souls who need to find each other, no matter what.
This Christmas novella was previously featured in the Unwrapping the Alien Anthology.
Awwww grumpy gills Orvos finally found his fated mate! He showed his love in less than effective ways, but figured it out eventually. Freya was a sweetheart and felt so out of place. To be fair, I don’t know how you could not feel out of place in her situation. She softened Orvos up a lot and he gave her a place to belong.

🎄 “You taught me how to kiss, sweet one. Let me teach you about pleasure.” ~~~ Holy mother of Christmas miracles! I was so waiting for Orvos to finally find his eregri!
Orvos is the Gryn’s medic and he’s one very, very surly male! Not only is he growly, intimidating and grumpy but he’s also impressively rude. But there is so much more to the older Gryn than meets the eye. Orvos is also very honorable, strong, fiercely protective, an amazing medic and he truly cares for everyone, even if he doesn’t show it. I just adore this grouchy warrior!
After being rescued, Freya’s trying to find her place in this new world. I loved that she was so helpful, kind and inquisitive. Even more, I loved that this Earth doctor was so feisty, sassy and that her mouth had no filter. She’s an amazing woman and I loved her so much!
I absolutely adored everything that happened between Orvos and Freya! From the moment they met, their attraction was undeniable. But the grumpy Gryn thought himself too old and didn’t believe to be worthy of a female. Nevertheless, their chemistry was fantastic and I just loved their banters and teasings! And when they have to work together to prepare the holiday celebrations… Oooh, talk about tension! Those two were so amazing together. And when they finally gave in to their undeniable need for one another, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot! I absolutely adored possessive and dominant Orvos.. What can I say... Wrap me in ribbon and deliver me to Daddy Claws!
Overall, the story is a marvellous holiday novella filled with everything naughty and nice!
Feast; an Elite Rogue Alien Warriors Novella is a super cute and fun Christmas holiday tale. Orvos is the grumpy and grinchy Gryn we have gotten to know very little of throughout both the Rogue Alien Warriors and the Elite Alien Warriors series but he is an unforgettable character and he has finally met his match in Freya (Diana’s sister).
In Feast there is holiday cheer, everyone flocking together for a holiday feast, presents for the younglings, surprises and a so ho, ho, ho sexy, shredded and snazzy Santa Claws!
I recommend reading this one after Rebel and before Wrath since there are a few small spoilers about the characters in Wrath if you don’t. Reading them out of order will not necessarily spoil the story from Wrath but I thought I would mention it.
What an absolutely fantastic story of Orvos and Freda. Christmas is my most favourite time of the year, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading how Orvos was given the job of being Santa. He was the last person that I would’ve thought would fill in the job of being jolly old Saint Nick since he was a grumpiest Gryn of them all, deep down, he had a vulnerability that really touched your heart. But hold onto your seat, pretty soon, he is bringing out the holiday cheer and giving lots of loving to his boundless flight.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
Feast was so delicious our favorite cranky doctor Orvos meets his match in the beautiful fiesty Freya . I have enjoyed this series and I love going back to see old friends and make new ones. Orvos has always been a favorite of mine and he's meet his match in the younger human woman Freya who is also a doctor. The banter is great it will make you laugh and smile . watching these two navigate their feeling and find love as they celebrate their first Christmas on an alien world is so much fun. Awesome story! Highly recommend!🔥🌟💖🌟🌟🔥💖🔥💖🔥🌟🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟
Orvos, the grumpiest of Gryn, plays Santa, the jolliest of Elves! Genius!! In the process, he finds his mate, Freya, who is Diana’s rescued sister. This was a very sweet, and grumpy, Christmas tale, and it introduced all the holiday festivities to the Gryn. The young Gryn were so innocent and in need of mother figures, it just grabbed my heart. Orvos was incredibly vulnerable, but in the end, he got the happiness he deserved, and lots of Christmas spice!! Great revisit to Ustokos and my favorite Gryn warriors!
I loved it! It’s always great to revisit the Gryn and their human mates, like a reunion of old friends. I enjoyed Freda and Orvos and their awkward romance. Orvos deserved happiness and he made a perfect Santa, coming out of his shell to please his boundless flight. I was so happy for him.
Now I need to go back and read Jack's series about these winged warriors! This is excellent! He's a grumpy older medic. She's a human doctor. She leads the organizing of the first Christmas celebration and enlists him to be Santa Claus which he calls Santa Claws:). Delightful story!
Why is this so freak'n short? If any character was going to be a blip of a novella, why did it have to be Orvos? He deserves a full book. The ideas and tensions could have been so much more complex and lent themselves to true character growth that it was disappointing to shirk this couple of them. If the author ever wants to reduce a novel, this would be the couple to give the time to.
Wow, well, that was an amazing read. They always say the quietest are the worst 🤣🤣. Despite his bedside manner, Orvos is an army of one. Grouchy, loveable, and clearly in need of some Christmas cheer. Well, be careful what you wish for. 💜
An irresistible, intoxicating romance. Another brilliant read Hattie 💜
This is a feel good first Christmas for the Gryn children and even their parents. It addresses all kind of issues, even the being bad or good aspect which will leave you in tears. But fear not, you’ll love the ending.
Freya is new to the group. Her sister is already here so that helps. Orvos is the grumpy medic. And Freya wants to help in the clinic since she was a doctor on earth. Sparks fly! Merry Christmas! Enjoy
The series is wonderful. All the characters are charismatic & complex. Every romance is different from the others. This one has THE best character & background. Wonderful!
This is a great short story if you like the grumpy x sunshine trope. If you like alien/monster smut this’ll be a good read, for a short story there is a plot and not just all smut. 5/5 stars
A bit more of the shared knowledge of healing between them. Never got feeling he respected her skills and knowledge. Just physical. Did like Santa angle.
What a joy to revisit the grynn and specially our grumpy old Doc. When he tries very hard to resist the female that sets his heart on fire, he crumbles bit by bit untill he has the best moment of his live. then doubt settles in. he's old, unable to sire a young, he's not worthy of her and tries his best to avoid her. his friends mkae him see the error of his thinking and he puts on the best show of his live, hoping to win her back? only she has a suprise of her own. loved meeting up with old familar faces, their jokes and innuendo's. a perfect little story for the season and to remind me why i love the grynn so much.
