What an interesting book?! I enjoyed reviewing nature facts I learned back in school while discovering things I didn't know about nature. The artwork throughout has charming almost childlike style which I enjoyed seeing on each page.
a very quick read, I found it whimsical, beautifully illustrated and charming. So much so, that I am going to use it in some of my lessons this year as starters. With hope, it will inspire some of our young people to slow down and take a breath when noticing some of the wildlife referenced in this book.
This was okay. It's beautifully written, but most paragraphs felt so padded with adjectives and descriptions, that I found it difficult to get through. Although the writing style wasn't for me, there's a lot of interesting facts about nature, history, and etymology in here. It presents some ideas for plants to grow, signs of wildlife to look for, and ways to help out animals that are endangered. However, I didn't get as much out of it as I was hoping to. The illustrations are very pretty and I enjoyed those the most.
