Young, a West Texan of myriad talents, frankly confesses his obsession with crafting limericks using Texas place names and other subjects emblematic of his home state. You'll find Willie Nelson, Nolan Ryan, Molly Ivins and other Texas icons intoned. It all started during the drives Young made after finishing his duties as a manager of hospital pharmacy services in Abilene, when he’d hit the road for weekend singing gigs. On those drives, he began to get ideas for his verses, coming across town signs that read “Carbon” or “Noodle.”
