würden.
Warum er dachte, dass die Person, die von allen als Abschaum abgestempelt wird, die
richtige Person ist, um unser Haus zu vertreten, ist mir ein Rätsel, aber ich bin dankbar für
diese Chance. Denn sie ermöglicht es mir, sie zu treffen.
Die Prinzen der anderen fünf Häuser, die mir zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben das Gefühl
geben, gleichwertig zu sein. Sie entfachen ein Feuer in mir, das ich noch nie zuvor gespürt

If you're a into YA books, this is definitely a book you might enjoy. The story its self isn't bad, just silly and overly juvenile. The characters also fall into this category of kids trying to be adults. They speak like kids trying to be all older and wise. It feels like children trying on their patents cloths and shoes for dress up. There is instinct attraction, a lot of " this is the first time a women has gained my attention ". Our H biting her lip and swooning. Even when in danger or when one of these guys jumps to her aid or have her back she's all like " that's hot, or she's turned on". She cries a lot, runs, just kinda can't deal with a lot. She talks about being grown up, an adult, but that's not at all the truth. She's an ostrich that has stuck her head way to long in the sand. Everything seems to go to crap at the end, and our H decides to find her power and back bone and goes half cocked like a cowboy. Idk how i feel about reading on.

Ah yes, the sub standard RH plot. All the male characters have their agendas and hate each other but immediately they meet the heroine they abandon the said agendas and decide to protect her with their lives. Coincidentally they are all princes and heirs to their houses so...yea.

Because RL and M Sinclair just handed me this story that instantly sucked me in, gave me great world building, an amazing main character, MULTIPLE sweet yet protective mates (I legitimately love all of them), and then they decided to just end the book like that?!?!

I’m in my audiobook era and this one was amazing!!! The narrator is SO good.
BUT wow this is such a unique story and I love Ama so much!!!
I’m not the biggest why choose girlie, but all these men are so different and lovable in their own way.

What? It can't be finished yet! Sinclair and Caulder have teamed up to write an incredible story. It features a young and vibrant group of characters, political intrigue with great world building. I was engaged from the 1st word until the last, and left wanting more. The cliffhanger ending made me swear out loud wondering when book 2 would be released.

Honestly with all the great reviews I was expecting more. All the guys were basically the same exact guy. They didn’t have their own personalities, and it was insta-love from the start. It was another one of those “omg, she’s so different” books, like a special unicorn that some people don’t realize is actually just a horse with a unicorn horn strapped to it. I hate insta-love. It makes it too easy and there’s no relationship building. If that’s your thing, then you’ll love this book, I’m sure. Just not my cup of tea. 2 stars for decent grammar at least.

If you want, overly possessive men, a female who is somehow portrayed as weak even with boatloads of power, an insane amount of characters, and a barely existent plot line, this is the book for you!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this gem. I love both of these authors individually, but let it be known that RL Caulder and M Sinclair together are a force to be reckoned with.
This is a paranormal RH that takes place in Hell. After the Devil went to sleep, six houses (AKA subsets of Hell) took up ruling in his stead. Our FMC Amare (or Ama for short) is the heiress to the House of Death. So her dad is basically the Grim Reaper. Ama is half reaper and half succubus, a rare hybrid in a world that values bloodline purity above all else. So as you could probably guess, she's kind of a pariah among her peers.
Ama ends up going to a summit of all of the house leadership in her dad's place, and there she meets the five super hot heirs to the other houses of Hell. Additionally, she's accompanied to the summit by her childhood crush who rejected her and they now have a very tense relationship.
I know that was a lot of plot but LISTEN. Ama is a virgin, has mommy issues, and has essentially shunned her succubus side all of her life because of said mommy issues. So when she starts meeting hotties left and right who also think SHE'S a hottie, homegirl starts to experience some straight up lust.
We don't get any actual full spice in this first installment, but my girl Ama was horny as shit and she did have some VERY detailed dreams. We also got some hand stuff in the bath with one of the heirs, which was fantastic.
This does end on a cliffhanger, but I loved this! Very excited for book 2.

The plot moved without there being a lot of internal monologue and we got multi POV. Ama is a solid character, but the stand outs to me were the guys. I really liked how different they all seemed even while being protective over her right away. I liked that they aren’t a preestablished group.
The plot is interesting and I’m curious to know where this will go. I’m glad these are rapid releases!
The only critique i have is one I always see in M Sinclair’s writing, which is always using “the man” or “the woman” to describe someone in a paragraph. This may not seem like a big deal but once you notice it you’ll keep noticing it lol, and it’s used a lot, which then starts making me see all of the POVs as the same.

I liked that it was pretty rapid fire. We get a brief history of each of the Houses and introductions to all her mates. Sprinkle in some teenage angst and betrayal and its the perfect start to the series. I have to say at this moment I'm towards the hellhound just because of his protective fluffy alter ego

this book was not good.
all of the characters behaved like children so i honestly couldn’t take any of them seriously.

Pre teen nonsense
Honestly was looking forward to a unique storyline but this book is only interesting if you’re 14 and under.
Dialogue is so straight forward no conversational flow , it’s forced and cliche .

Love This book
I love this story. Ama is a girl born of two worlds in a society that doesn't like her because of what she is. Her dad is amazing and just loves her anyway.
The storyline will suck you in as you meet all the different characters and what is going on. Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down.

Six houses ruled the Kingdom of Pura. The six territories are divided by House of Shadow, House of Shadow, House of Sin, House of Hellfire, House of Runes, and last but not least, House of Death. Amare or Ama was a princess and heir to the House of Death. I feel she is such a very admirable character. She's been bullied and ridiculed for being a hybrid--(reaper and succubus). Yet, she manages to keep her head held high and kept her crown from slipping. I've been a huge fan of R.L Caulder since her debut book, Desolation . This was actually an intro to M. Sinclair, and I absolutely loved this co-write. I literally couldn't tell that this was a co-write. Fantastic world building, relationship/character building, it almost felt like a historical romance, but in Hell (Which was amazing, I low key enjoy historical romances). Weird thing though, I would have loved to see a drawn out of the territories. I am literally now obsessed with this series. Can't wait to read more!

Hmmmm...I wrote a whole comment and clicked post, but seems like it didn't take. So here it goes again, this is not a 4.45 book (which is a higher ranking than the LOTR trilogy, Throne of Glass, and many other successful RH series.) Lately, the star score on goodreads has been very unreliable. It used to be a 4.45 book would be well written (not about grammar errors, but actual story writing abilities) and have a compelling plot, even if you weren't into it. In the past few months, I have gotten books ranked towards the mid-4 stars that I DNF because they were so unengaging. This never used to happen! Although I did finish this book, I am not interested in the next installment, even with the 'cliff hanger' ending. I would probably have given it 2-stars, but I need to counter all of the 5-stars (5-stars! am I taking crazy pills here?) that this book received to give people a better indication of what they are getting. Has something changed on the goodreads end? If so, I hope goodreads addresses it because its is compromising the integrity of their platform. Its going to be like yelp soon, where the star ratings are essentially meaningless.

The story was very bland. The premise is Ama's father is the Supreme-meaning he rules over all the other 5 houses. Each house is separated by type, but Ama is a hybrid. Supposedly hybrids are a huge no-no. Ama, who is a very bland and squishy character, gets sent by her dad to represent her house at the convention to elect a new supreme. For a supposedly smart leader, this is the dumbest idea. She spends the few days running away from confrontations or being saved from people being mean to her by her guys, who are all princes of the other houses. That's pretty much it for the whole book. Last few pages the other houses try to staged a coup and Ama is saved once again by someone else, cause she's basically a useless pretty decoration. This reads as a YA type book, very juvenile characters and no real plot movement.

Originally when I started this book I really didn’t like the writing style or the fmc, Ama. She felt super immature and childish, to be fair she is only 20 years old. Throughout the book I got used to the writing and grew to enjoy the plot and characters. The plot is pretty entertaining and the characters are likable. One small qualm I have is with how quickly the mmc’s fell for Ama. Well they didn’t say I love you, one described her as a “goddess among men”.
Overall it was a decent rh that kept me entertained. Recommend.

Oh my god what an amazing unique read! The plot was great the FMC Ama was amazing and the guys were incredible my favourite being Finias!

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)
Ama is the Grim Reaper’s daughter, and heir to the throne of The House of Death — one of the six ruling houses in hell (Death, Shadow, Hellfire, Fallen, Sin, and Rune). The problem is that she is also a hybrid (Reaper and Succubus mixed), which is very looked down upon, especially among the monarchs.
When she is forced to go the Summit that is held every hundred years to determine who will be the Supreme ruler over all the houses, she’s dreading it. Not only because she knows how everyone looks down on her, but because she has to travel with a man who she has had a crush on for years but rejected her.
At the Summit though, she’s surprised by her attraction to not only one, but all five of the other princes of the other houses (not to mention her surly Reaper escort).
But all is not love and roses. The princes of the other houses may be explicitly drawn to her too, but their parents are another story. And it seems like a looming war between the houses might be coming to a head.

REVIEW:
I enjoyed this one! I loved Ama. She’s such a sweet and good person. Despite being bullied and pushed around, she has such a big heart for other people.
I also liked all of her potential mates. They’re all a bit different (which is good) but I liked them all (even grumpy Dray and cocky Colt). I will say it’s a BIG harem of six guys. This can be a challenge to build up the characters and relationships with each one. So I’ll be curious to see how this author duo manages to do that in the coming books.
I’ve seen some reviews for this book (and others for that matter) that rant about romances and RH’s in particular utilizing the “special snowflake” type of trope. This simply means when the heroine is made to seem so unique and different and magically special. I see a lot of hate for this kind of trope and honestly I don’t really see why? I personally enjoy this kind of trope. And here’s why…
1. When I’m reading a book like this, I (like I’m sure many others) put myself into the story. So OF COURSE I want to read about the heroine being special and different. I don’t want this to be like real life where I’m ordinary and nothing special. Why would we want that from a fictional story?
2. Also, why wouldn’t we be reading about the most special characters in any given book world? Sure, there’s ordinary people in the background. But you know why they don’t get stories? Because they lead boring lives!
3. Finally, I find it much less believable to read about a bunch of hot perfect guys going after a plain Jane. Maybe some people like plain Jane heroines. But I don’t. I want to BELIEVE that these guys see something special in the heroine. And I’m not really talking about looks, but something internally special too. Is there anything wrong with that?
So yeah, needless to say I’m okay with and even like the “special snowflake” trope because…it makes sense!
I also am curious about the plot and the cliffhanger twist at the end. It’s quite intense and I’m excited to see where it all goes.
Overall a great first in series! I’m excited about this one. I like the characters and the story so far. No sex yet (despite the immediate attraction it’s slow burn in that sense), but that’s okay. I’m onto the next book right away to see what happens next!

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)
Ama is the Grim Reaper’s daughter, and heir to the throne of The House of Death — one of the six ruling houses in hell (Death, Shadow, Hellfire, Fallen, Sin, and Rune). The problem is that she is also a hybrid (Reaper and Succubus mixed), which is very looked down upon, especially among the monarchs.
When she is forced to go the Summit that is held every hundred years to determine who will be the Supreme ruler over all the houses, she’s dreading it. Not only because she knows how everyone looks down on her, but because she has to travel with a man who she has had a crush on for years but rejected her.
At the Summit though, she’s surprised by her attraction to not only one, but all five of the other princes of the other houses (not to mention her surly Reaper escort).
But all is not love and roses. The princes of the other houses may be explicitly drawn to her too, but their parents are another story. And it seems like a looming war between the houses might be coming to a head.

REVIEW:
I enjoyed this one! I loved Ama. She’s such a sweet and good person. Despite being bullied and pushed around, she has such a big heart for other people.
I also liked all of her potential mates. They’re all a bit different (which is good) but I liked them all (even grumpy Dray and cocky Colt). I will say it’s a BIG harem of six guys. This can be a challenge to build up the characters and relationships with each one. So I’ll be curious to see how this author duo manages to do that in the coming books.
I’ve seen some reviews for this book (and others for that matter) that rant about romances and RH’s in particular utilizing the “special snowflake” type of trope. This simply means when the heroine is made to seem so unique and different and magically special. I see a lot of hate for this kind of trope and honestly I don’t really see why? Insurrection is the first book in the Monarchs of Hell series by R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair and let me just say this --- you’re not going to want to pass up this series. It will grab you and keep you page-turning and begging for more when you get to the end.
Insurrection is an engaging paranormal reverse harem romance novel that quickly pulled me in. Ama is a reaper-succubus hybrid. Others have made her feel inferior because of her hybrid state, so she chooses to reject her succubus side, but there is more to the story than meets the eye. The Summit is coming to vote for the role of Supreme. While Ama’s father has held the role for several cycles, the other houses are looking to enact a change. They crave the power and the possibilities of swaying things in their favor if they hold the seat of Supreme. Now, Ama is the one being sent in his place. The situation is already one of high political tension but add in Ama’s hybrid state and the way she manages to attract the eye of every prince attending --- things are about to off the rails.
I practically devoured Insurrection. It’s an enticing novel and I can’t wait for the next. This book is truly a page-turner as you read about Ama struggling with who she is and the rejection she faced from a man she still wants in her heart. Things get complicated with each passing page as her struggles with the various circumstances that surround her. She’s a sassy character and I like her snark overall, but there is a time and place for everything but her greenness show itself in some of the most inopportune moments.
Ama already has a stacked deck against herself, so I don’t get why she/the authors would make it worse. Her essentially slurping down her food and moaning loudly at the Summit dinner? Really? Some of the houses already are against her, and she was all for “proving she can handle things” so why go and make things worse? You would really think she’d want to make her father proud with her behavior, but that seems to have flown the coop. I have mixed feelings about her reactions/actions with the men who surround her as well. I understand all too well her desire to eat up their attention, but her naivety is really showing. She should have taken the stance with all until proven otherwise, that they were tasked with trying to seduce/manipulate her. For me, it takes too long for Ama to really get a clue. She’s upset/angry that individuals have bullied and rejected her for her hybrid nature, but she fails to see that she has done that as well. She needed to see that sooner and embrace both sides of herself.
This book is really good despite my complaints. You do see some growth with the characters and some interesting (but twisted) revelations. I’m choosing to rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I say that because the book kept me page-turning. The ending is a crazy cliffhanger that has me more than eager for the next book in this series. The authors tease with some semi-steamy scenes, but with the number of guys circling Ama it’s only a matter of time before things burn up the pages and I’m here for it. If you enjoy paranormal reverse harem novels with lots of twists you’re not going to want to miss out on this book. Trust me. You’re going to devour it!

THIS WAS SO GOOD! Oh my god, do I want more! I'm so happy this is on a quick release schedule, as I must have it all!
These two authors are known for amazing world-building and characters so put them together and you have a book you don't want to put down! I loved the take on Hell and the different factions and races. So many cool spins on creatures and myths that we know and love.
Ama has to take her father's place as the House of Death representative at The Summit - a gathering of all the most powerful leaders in Hell to determine who's essentially the tie-breaking vote for the next century. This is a big task and she knows she's going to get pushback because of her hybrid status.
The FMC!
Ama is a hybrid princess - a reaper and succubus - which in this world is the kiss of death because it's all about pure genes. She's dealt with her fair share of hate and bigotry in her 19 years. Even though she's the Grim Reapers' daughter that doesn't shield her from jerks. But this has built her into who she is with a different outlook than most.
The Guys!
Finias, Damien, Adrien, Colt, Drayven - swoon! We have a whole slew of different personalities, steam, and feelings! I cannot wait for this to unfold! All the guys are the heirs to the different factions in Hell - some like each other, some really don't. This dynamic is one of my faves as they all will have to learn to love Ama and be friendly with each other.
The Smut!
For being part succubus there's not too too much steam in this one, some hot kisses, but LOADS of tension. The next book will explode and I cannot wait!

I DNF'ed at 85%, and only made it that far because I wanted something casual to read between events on a busy weekend.
This is a step or two away from YA, in terms of prose, so it just really wasn't working for me. The writing is juvenile, and the characters are all so juvenile. I typically don't like big harems because I feel like you don't get to know all the characters, and it held true for this book as well. Even at 85% I couldn't tell you which character belonged to which house. It was basically insta-love/insta-attraction for all of the men, and for the FMC it wasn't far off either.
Also, look at this quote:
They are in an entire other dimension, at a fancy event, and that's the food we're serving? And this is just one of endless examples of the FMC being soooo ~*~QUIRKY~*~ and each and every one was annoying.
Anyway, it was sorta easy to read if you didn't care about bonding with any of the characters, and I suppose I can see why people really love the series. I won't be continuing on, which I kinda feel sad about because I do believe that this plot has a ton of potential!
