Fake Dating My Billionaire Boss

Rate this book
My new boss is a total grump. I’m stuck living with him for the summer.

Damian Knight is a reclusive billionaire who won’t even open the doors of his mansion to a cleaning staff, let alone guests. He’s not happy to have to put up with a starving artist—me—in his guest suite. And it doesn’t help that my dog has a taste for his thousand dollar loafers…When he asks me to pretend to be his girlfriend, things get tricky. For a cold grouch, his kisses are as warm as sunshine. How’s a girl supposed to focus on painting while staring into those dark, smoldering eyes? The right answer is to remember it’s all fake. But I never was a good student. I have a bad habit of going for the wrong answers. Damian’s not going to be happy when he learns the secret I’m keeping from him. My fingers are crossed that by the time he figures out what I’m up to, I’ll be long gone…Then again, I might be too far gone already. Fake Dating my Billionaire Boss is a laugh-out-loud enemies-to-lovers clean and sweet romance featuring a heroine who’s all sunshine, a hero who’s all frowny-face, and their happily ever after. Plus, an adorable and scruffy dog named Bo who adores any human who walks him or rubs his belly…grumpy men included.

This was a breath of fresh air and the book I needed in between the spicier ones I enjoy reading. The story was super cute and literally hilarious 😂 Bella is an artist who's about to finally get her shot in the art world. Damian is the heir to the Bubbly Springs Soda Company, and he's also a billionaire. Bella ends up being hired by Damian to create an abstract painting. Due to several circumstances, she ends up living with Damian.. and it's a wild ride from there! This book is perfect for readers who enjoy a fun, clean romance in a small town. I absolutely loved Bo 🐶🥰

This is my favorite Evie Sterling novel to date-all her books are comfort reads for me but this one just had it all and then some! She nailed it with the plot (which includes a bit of mystery!) and the characters: Bella, a spunky free-spirited painter (and her cute pup, Bo) and Damian, a grumpy, uptight billionaire boss. Told with a dual point-of-view, their fake dating story was fast paced and comical, with all the flirtation and banter a closed-door romance book provides.

Another great read by Evie!

I really enjoyed this quick read and found myself quickly connecting to the grumpy MMC.

I usually find that I connect with Evie's FMC more than the MMC, but there is something that she does that made me have a difficult time supporting her decisions. With that said, she doesn't redeem herself and I really loved how it all tied together in the end!

I also loved the little bit of mystery added in.

You get:
• Sweet Romance
• Grumpy X Sunshine
• Billionaire MMC
• Artist FMC
• Animal Companion
• HEA
• Family Mystery

Such a great standalone series! I highly recommend! Available on KU, ebook, and paperback.

I am so excited because I got to read another story by the talented Evie
This time I got to read the standalone story: Dating My Billionaire Boss.

I just want to start off by saying how much I loved this story. To me this is how Romeo and Juliet should have ended. With love.

Bella is a goofy, fun spirited, artist who is always her unique self. She doesn't apologize for who she is and lives in the moment. You can't help but to like her, even when she makes decisions that Fizzy and I want to yell at her for. Where as Damian is a straight to the point business man who just wants to be left alone and will never be seen without a tie. When his mom keeps trying to force him back together with his Ex he decides to convince Bella to be his fake girlfriend. Damian is such a pure Soul. My heart hurt for his childhood. His reaction to a dog kiss made me laugh and then made me want to cry. He has experienced so few things that he reminds me of a small child being shown the world for the first time. He's not afraid to do heavy lifting or to take a giant leap. Damian is 100000% a keeper and I'm so glad Fizzy is more stubborn than the two of them.
Now Fizzy is such an amazing friend. I died when he said, "ugh. Genetics, why did you forsake me?" He is someone who NEEDS to know the answer to whatever question he comes up with. He is the type of friend who will do anything to help his friends. Even facing off with the witch from Hansel and Gretle.
I really enjoyed this story even though certain parts/decisions baffled me, but they all made sense in the end. They trusted eachother and that's what mattered and made the difference. I giggled so much while reading this story.

One tiny complaint is when something went missing I truly felt there should have been a stronger reaction. Like an absolute freak out but maybe that's just my over dramatic self 🤣. The ending was seriously the cutest ever and I wish I owned the painting myself. The way Damian views art made me so happy and him possibly hating barefeet made me chuckle.
The women in his family make me mad especially when the conversation about model trains is brought up.
If you are looking for a cute little story about two people who are beyond different but their love of art brings them together than this is the story for you.
Ican't wait until my Paperback comes in.
OH AND HOW DO I FORGET TO MENTION THE BO IS THE CUTEST OF CUTE DOGS AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

Ok, so I was in love with Bella, our FMC, right away. She’s a hot mess. But she’s kind, honest, funny, and oh so likeable. Bella is barely scraping by and her passion is art. Painting specifically. She’s literally a starving artist. Bella is at a place where she’s got a chance of achieving her goal: to get a painting in Maxine Finch’s art gallery before she turns 30. But, before Maxine will commit, she wants Bella to paint something she’s never done. A focal piece. Maxine wants a painting that showcases Bella‘s unique style, something twice the size of her normal paintings. She gives Bella a couple of months to get the piece done. Bella blindly agrees. Enter Fizzy, Bella’s lifelong best friend, who finds out that our MMC, the successful, grumpy (and hot) billionaire Damien Knight, is looking for a very modern piece of artwork to showcase, as he is opening up a new art museum : The Silver Springs Museum of Modern Art. Silver Springs is where Bella and Fizzy grew up. As well as Damien Knight. (Fizzy actually corners Damien and pleads with him to meet with and consider Bella for the job.) In a way that only Fizzy could, Fizzy refuses to take no for an answer, and Damien agrees. This commission pays a ridiculous amount of money. Long story short Bella agrees. However, Bella does not paint modern artwork. Not at all. Not even close. However, desperate times call for desperate measures. She has recently been evicted, and with the prospect of an upfront payment of $50K it’s a no brainer right? She is fleecing him bc she cannot do both. She’s working only on the piece for Maxine. (She’ll figure out the rest later. Or so she thinks.) The book jumps straight into a wild ride including Bella becoming Damien’s fake girlfriend, in exchange, Bella (and Bo, her dog-Yes, Bo is a character) get to stay at Damien’s mansion and work interrupted, until his grand opening. The mother and the ex-gf were so annoying. -Great job making the reader absolutely despise those two.- In another turn of events, a discovery is made that WILL change everything! Bella is such a breath of fresh air and just what Damien needs in his life. She just might change his perspective on a few things🤭🫨. This book is non stop until a grinding halt of a hea. I recommend this to anyone who likes the billionaire, grumpy/sunshine or fake dating tropes. It’s a quick and cute closed romance.

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read, the characters had a lot of chemistry and were well developed, and aspects felt well-researched. Based on my experience with clean romances, this was definitely among the better that I have read lately. it was well-written and well-developed. I would have given it 4 stars but there was one aspect of the plot that made me drop a star.

Let me explain (spoiler alert).

Yeah, so aside from that, a fun read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🌶️

Damian and Bella are the sunshine meets grumpy couple I didn’t know I was missing in my life. This book was so cute, swoon worthy, and heartwarming. Evie delivers a billionaire romance that kept me smiling throughout the book, a dash of mystery/suspense, but the HEA you need and want from her.

Bella is an artist who is finally getting her shot in the art world, as long as she creates an amazing show stopper piece. Problem is, she can’t afford the items need to create said show stopper piece. When an opportunity arises, she jumps at the chance to be able to fund her project. It will require the wool to be pulled over her clients eyes for a bit, but she is certain she will be able to pull it off.
Damian wants an abstract art piece created for the gallery he is opening in his hometown. An acquaintance sets up a meeting with Bella, who paints in the style of impressionism. He decides to take a chance on her and after finding himself moving her into his guest quarters, their employer/employee relationship starts.

Through a fake dating need, Damian starts to realize Bella is everything he needs and wants. He finds himself opening up to her, the sharp edges around his heart softening, and even falls in love with her dog! Bella also finds herself willing to trust again and these two take their fake dating to real dating.

However, a small town mystery involving both their families threatens to break them apart, as does the fact that Bella lied to Damian about what type of painting she is producing for him. The question remains, how can you start a relationship when secrets are already swirling.

Evie provides a wonderful, short story, that makes the heart leap as Damian and Bella open themselves up to each other.

As always review trigger warnings before reading.

⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 (4.5 stars)

Evie Sterling has done it again with another clean romance. Bella is a NYC artist on the cusp of her big break who suddenly finds herself evicted, along with her trusty border collie Bo (short for Bojangles). Damien is a grumpy CEO from her hometown of Silver Springs who is looking for an abstract painting for the opening of his new art gallery. Thanks to the meddling of Bella's quirky bff Fizzy, she gets a job and a place to stay when she agrees to move to Silver Springs and take on Damien's commission. Damien doesn't know that she only paints landscapes. And when she agrees to pretend to be his girlfriend to get his meddling mother off his case, he promises not to check her progress until the painting is complete. What could possibly go wrong?

In addition to the fake dating shenanigans, this book introduced a fairly substantial mystery element, which I enjoyed but felt got wrapped up a bit too quickly. This is a quick read which could have been a bit more fleshed out, particularly after the third act breakup. The HEA was satisfying, but in opinion the characters could have done a bit more to earn it, so I docked half a star.

Evie Sterling always write animals well. Bo was particularly delightful, and I loved his bond with Damien. He had a lot to do with breaking the man out of his grump phase. I also enjoyed how Sterling wrote about Bella's art, and what art meant to both characters.

Man, Damien's mother couldn't take a hint, though.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys:
🧡Sweet, clean romance
🧡Happily ever afters
🧡Precocious dogs
🧡Fake dating
🧡Grumpy/sunshine

How I love this book

I truly love reading Evie's books. It's like a breath of fresh air and that sweet closed door book I need in between the spicier ones I read.

This book is about Bella and Damian. Bella is an artist and she is struggling with making money. Her best friend Fizzy gets her an interview with the rich Damian Knight who is looking for someone to paint an abstract painting for his upcoming opening of a gallery in thecold museum he is fixing. When Bella gets told by her role model she needs to do a grand piece and if it's really good she'll put it in her gallery, Bella agrees even though she doesn't have the means for it. This has Bella meeting with Damian and agreeing to do the abstract for him even though she's really going to paint something different.

Damian is constantly hounded by his mom to get back together with his ex Addison and is always showing up with her. When Bella needs a place to stay and paint, he comes up with the ruse of her being his fake girlfriend which he hopes helps him get his mom and Addison off his back.

Bella and Damian get closer and with Bella's dog Bo loving Damian as well it's seeming like they are a match, but with thw mystery of why her dad and her dearly departed mother up and moved when she was a teen and it pointing to Damian’s family, Bella doesn't know what to do.

You need to read this book. Such an amazing plot. You definitely hit a homerun with thoscone Evie Sterling!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. This book is laugh-out-loud funny. Bella Sinclair needs some money and a place to stay. Bella comes up with an outrageous plan after her best friend, Pheneous "Fizzy" Fitzgerald, gets her a meeting with Damian Knight. The Knight family owns the Bubbly Springs Soda Company and is Silver Springs royalty. Damien wants to commission at huge abstract art painting. Bella figures he has a big house, he can spare a couple of rooms for her and her dog, Bo.

In addition to the painting, Damian needs something else from Bella. He needs a girlfriend. His mom is pushing his ex on him hard. He needs someone to run interference and since Bella is here, why not her? This situation is a win-win for both of them. Bella needs a place a live and paint. Damian needs someone to pose as his girlfriend. Things get messy when Damian and Bella realize that the generally like each other. This fake dating situation isn't as fake as it started off. Unfortunately Bella has a pretty big secret that she is holding onto. Will Damian forgive her once he finds out? Fizzy, the town gossip, also has a mystery that needs solving that involves Bella's family and why they left Silver Springs so abruptly.

The things Bella gets into will have readers rolling. If there is something to get into, I guarantee Bella is right in the middle. Helping Fizzy find information on his mystery, turns into a trip to the police station. You have to read it to believe it. I loved Bella and Damien. I really like how they came together. I did feel like the ending was a little rushed but it does not take away from the story. Readers get a conclusion and that is all that really matters in the end.

It was a good story, with a lot of miscommunication that in the end it turned all alright for both main characters.
Damian was a grump and sometimes arrogant men (but with that family and mainly mother it's a wonder he turned out so balanced), that inside is a really good and caring person.
Bella is an artist, joyfull and easygoing that in my opinion had a big flaw that was being so irresponsible (she goes way beyong the head in the clouds stage), and this makes her have all sorts of troubles.

Bella acceps a job offer from Damiam, to paint an abstract painting for an art display on his museum. She accepts, but her goal is not to do that painting, but instead pain her own style to show in a big city gallery, and she tricks him and hopes for the best. What she doen't anticipates is having to live with him during that process and ending in a fake relationship with him as well. And to top that she discovers some family secrets that involve both families, and that coud jeopardize everything.
Even with all the miscommunication and secrets between them they end falling in love.

I liked this story and since the grumpy/sunshine is a personal favorite of mine it doesn't miss the target. I really like Evie's writing stile and world building, and this book is no different
If you want to enjoy a couple hours with an easy and light read, this is a very good option.

This was such a cute little read! It took me about 2 hours to read this, so I actually got to finish two books that day. I'm very proud.
Bella Sinclair is a talented artist looking for recognition. When her best friend Fizzy gets her a meeting with an abstract collector, who is also from their small town. When Damien hires her to make his main abstract piece she's happy, he's paying her 50k after all. So, after she gets evicted and moved in temporarily with Damien to paint her abstract piece feelings start to arise. But, Evie doesn't paint abstract.
Damien Knight is the son of the owner of a famous soda company dude. The soda company is famous for using natural water from the Knight owned spring.
Everything is going great with their relationship until Bella figures out a secret that could ruin the Knight business. Should she risk her new relationship or take action and try to take what's rightfully hers?

Book Review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a fun and great book. I just love this cover and the story didn’t disappoint at all. First off, we meet our FMC Bella is a struggling artist trying to get by and get her art out in the world. Bella gets the chance of a lifetime and in order to make that happen she has to work with the broody billionaire Damian. Bella and Damian have a history because they grew up in the same town. I love the fake dating trope seen here and it was down so well and so entertaining. In addition to the romance here, we have a mystery to solve. I enjoyed that additional plot line and it made for some good laughs. Let’s not forget about the sweet and adorable dog Bo!! Read this, you won’t even miss the spice!

Things to enjoy:
💜 Enemies to lovers
💙 Small town
💜 Forced proximity
💙 Boss/ Billionaire
💜 Fake Dating
💙 Grumpy/Sunshine
💜 Struggling artist

Swoon Worthy Quote:
“He's not looking at me. He's looking into me. For the first time in my life, I realize that those are two completely different thing's.”

Spice: None

Thank you to the author Evie Sterling for the physical copy of the book!

✨ARC Review✨

Thanks again to @haylingbookstorm for the opportunity to read yet another book by @eviesterling.cleanromance

Bella is a very talented artist. She is hired by Damien to do an abstract painting… problem is… she doesn’t want to do that. She’s getting a hefty payment and he even lets her move in when she loses her place and she’s kinda deceitful with what she chooses to do and why! She also finds out this secret and uses that to warrant what she does. Plus, she hopes to be long gone before he finds out. Well, he’s a grumpy recluse and needs her to pretend to be his girlfriend and feelings are developing when they shouldn’t be…especially because of the secret she knows! Will he find out her secret and forgive her 🤷🏻‍♀️ I highly recommend reading to find out!!!

This was again, laugh out loud funny with all the best tropes! Also, Bo is quite the cute pup🫶🏼

I just absolutely adored Damian and Bella! This story was so good and I couldn't get enough of it! Bella is an artist who's about to finally get her shot in the art world. Evie's writing always puts me in the best mood, and I always find myself struggling to pick what to read next! This book was good. It did not take me a long time to read it, and I enjoyed it overall. It was cute and funny, and I really liked the FMC Bella. I also really enjoyed her relationship with her bestie Fizzy. This was my first Evie Sterling book, so I did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. I liked that it was a clean book as far as there being no spice but it did not take away from the story or the romance. I also really enjoyed the mystery aspect of it (Bella’s mom left a bit of a mystery for her to solve that has to do with her inheritance). The scenes of Fizzy and Bella trying to figure it all out were my favorite. I did feel like there was not that much chemistry between Damian and Bella and I wish there was more of a focus on the FMC and MMC and their relationship. Overall good, clean, quick read.

Eye of the beholder

Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder. When grumpy art collector Damian Knight contracts aspiring artist Bella Sinclair to paint an oversize abstract for him, he has no idea his world is going to get turned inside out and on its head.
All Bella wanted was to paint an oversize impressionist painting to secure a prestigious gallery showing, and the contract from Damian would gove her the funds to do so. She never expected to be solving a mystery of family secrets and falling in love with her boss at the same time.
It was a lot of fun to see these two characters accomplish multiple goals at the same time with one single painting... even if it is big.
I bought a copy of this story in a boxset from Amazon and voluntarily chose to share my review.

I'm an Evie Sterling fan in general. I love how she is able to bring her characters to life and give them their HEAs in such a sweet way.

Damien and Bella's story is no different! I really liked the premise in the one because it was the FMC who was being a little off-color and schemey instead of the MMC (who was just grumpy).

A struggling artist/billionaire love story that has you rooting for them, and actually gives you a villain or two to hate. Also, we have a really cute furry side-kick in Bo who brings everything (and everyone together)

I found myself smiling, laughing, and sometimes hiding behind my hands during those awkward parts while reading this book.

If you're looking for a lighthearted read that makes you feel good, this is the one for you!

Overall: recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Rounded up to 5

A cute small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance novel.

Bella is a starving artist on the brink of getting her big break into the art world.

Damian is a grumpy billionaire & the heir to the famous Bubbly Springs Soda Company.

When their paths cross again years later, will a friendship (or maybe more) be able to bloom, or will white lies & Bo, the shoe-loving dog, get in the way?

I loved the hidden secret in this novel and how it unexpectedly connected Bella & Damian.

Fizzy, Bella’s best friend, was the perfect secondary character for this story, & I found myself seeking more of their mischief!

Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, and this novel did not disappoint.

The ending was super cute & perfect for this grumpy x sunshine couple.

Who wouldn’t love a story when the best friend is a buzzkill and speaker of truth named Fizzy-he’s hysterical! Bella (aka Fizzy’s best friend) is a starving artist who ends up returning to her childhood home via an offer from a very handsome yet rigid billionaire named Damian.

What grabs your attention (making this story stand out from others for me) is a bit of mystery and intrigue that might correct some “wrongs” from long ago. I love how it’s written from both Bella and Damian’s POV. A great story with a wonderful HEA ending.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are written really well and have several relatable aspects in them.
The book is very well written. The plot runs smoothly, with a few small problems that the characters have to face aside from the main problem. This makes the book more interesting and engaging.
There are also several characters introduced throughout the book, which gives readers a more open and diverse group of people to meet throughout the story.
I would probably recommend this book to romance lovers who like reading books in which the serious relationship (not counting the fake dating) between the characters develops before the middle of the book.

This was a sweet, close door romance and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this books. It was just what I needed after being put into a slump from my last read.

It was easy to read and made me very intrigued because of some past secrets, and trying to find the truth.

I liked Bella and I liked Damian too, I absolutely hated Damian’s mother and grandmother. Absolutely no need to be like that, I kept rolling my eyes and thinking: oh shut up! whilst reading the things that she was saying and forcing his ex girlfriend onto him.

I like the hea ending as well.

Thank you for Evie Sterling and Hayling Bookstorm doe gifting me this book and help with the release!

This book had an adorable dog named Bo. I wish there were more Bo hijinks because he is so adorable. The magic of Bella's art was wonderful to read about. I can tell the change in style of her works from this trailer series compared to her current series. It is fascinating to see how her style has changed. This was a short and sweet story. Not my favorite of hers but it was nice to read.

Fake Dating My Billionaire Boss is a dual POV, told through the eyes of Bella and Damian. It is a clean romance however, I do not miss the spice as Evie's book are so well written. This is my third book by Evie and I know I will be reading many more!
I loved the addition of a mystery to this story, it adds a whole extra layer to the book. Bella and Damian were just so cute together however my favourite relationship in the book was that between Damian and Bo, the progression from dislike to adoration was so touching!

This heartfelt story kept me glued to the pages captivated by Damian and Bella. They enter into a fake relationship but turns into so much more than Bella bargained for. I enjoyed this lovely closed-door romance. The two families had history (which we don't learn a lot about until later in the book), but they re-meet through a mutual acquaintance. Damian needs a new painting and Bella is an artist. He hires her to create his painting and when she gets evicted, she tells him she needs to move in with him. As their relationship progresses, they catch the feelings for one another. The story was cute, the writing is typical Evie (and I say that in the best way possible).

Thank you for the copy, this is my honest opinion.

The story has potential to pull heartstrings but the author just decided to take the easy way out and just end the book there. Everything is fine. A little mystery, but also little romance development. Feels like they were forced together. FMC is so annoying. Being bubbly won't save you all the time. Not everything will go your way. If you're in my house, I would have kicked you out. Not cute. I love Evie Sterling's books but somehow she missed this one.
