Lori and her best friend are trying to figure out just what to do on their holiday vacation. Lori wants something simple but Stacey wants to go to Paris. She has found a fantastic deal but they have to jump on it right away. Lori is going through a divorce from her husband Dave after she caught him cheating on her and she really just wants something simple where she can lick her wounds.
After much back and forth discussion they finally decide that maybe now would be a good time to go to Paris. Lori's daughter Lucy is not talking to her because of the divorce and so this might be the best time to go. Lori says she will jump online and buy her tickets then let Stacey know and she can buy hers. BUT, something is wrong, when Lori tries to put her credit card in it says declined. She jumps on her online bank account only to find that all of her money has disappeared. Wait, she is totally broke but will need to figure out how and why before her rent and bills are due in January.
She calls her friend back and then contact the police. They tell her it will be several weeks before they can come up with how and why this happened and who is responsible. Her friend says she can stay with her but her apartment is minuscule and really not enough room. Her only other choice is to go see her family for a few weeks thus shutting down her apartment and all the utilities in order to save money.
SO now the saga starts as we go with Lori to her parents house and start to see the drama that is unfolding in this family unit.

Lori and her best friend Stella are planning a much-needed vacation and can’t wait to have a little rest and relaxation. Just as they are about to book their trip Lori discovers all of her accounts have been wiped out. She immediately calls law-enforcement to see if they can help figure out what is going on.

However, as a newly divorced woman in her 40s, she now has no money, nowhere to go, and isn’t sure what the next step should be. She decides that maybe returning “home “to her parents, B&B in Vermont is the best choice.

Returning to Vermont brings with it an entire slew of uncharted feelings. She hasn’t been back in quite a while, hasn’t really been present with either her parents or her widowed sister, Angela, therefore making it a little bit uncomfortable.

You quickly discover that she has been out of the loop in more ways than one. She is wrestling with so many feelings as well as bad memories, including having a super bad ski accident as a kid.

Enjoying time with her best friend, feels like she’s starting to ease into being back in this place. Enter a strong, muscular, kind ski instructor named Peter and you have all the beginnings of a story that could be a cozy romance.

Will Lori be able to reconnect with her parents? Will she be able to reconnect with her sister Angela? I enjoy the way this author described the B&B as I could almost feel like I was there. This is a really good introduction to what I know is broken up into six parts.

Arriving home, her parents are happy to see but her sister is not. As much as Lori tries to help in any capacity, Angela is against any help. As Lori retrieves the mail, she notices an envelope marked “Open Immediately Court Summons”. She wonders what is going on and asked her parents who is reluctant to tell her. Will they open up and tell her or must she find out for herself. Join Lori as starts to investigate this mystery.

Nice beginning to a new series. The plot and characters were well-written and pulled your interest into the story.

It's been a bit sine I've read Sage Parker. She writes the sweetest romances in serial form, which is perfect for my ADHD brain!

Stella finally talks Lori into going to Paris for Christmas, only for Lori to find that someone's drained her bank accounts and maxed out her cards. After filing a police report and canceling all of her auto-payments, Stella talks Lori into going to visit her estranged parents for the holidays.

I'm not a huge fan of Lori so far. She is estranged from everyone she's related to, and is too scared to do much of anything without a lot of prodding. Plus she tells some lies that are just going to come back and bite her butt way hard.

But, I know that before long I'll be rooting for her. Sage is good like that.

Lori was planning a Christmas getaway with her BFF Stella. Stella found a fantastic price for 2 weeks in Paris. Lori put her credit card in the computer and it rejected. She tried again, insufficient funds, she tried her debit card....insufficient funds. She called the bank and was told her bank accounts were EMPTY!!!!! She called the authorities and told it could take months. Her only option was to go home to Glacier Grove and spend some time with her parents and sister Angela, who she had not seen, since Angela's husbands death.
How was this going to work out. Another fantastic start for Sage.

Lori gets injured and Peter rescues her. She begins to have feelings for Peter when more drama happens and her dad has a cardiac issue. Mark gets a warrant, and they find expensive ski equipment in Peter's storage area. While that is happening Milo her dog goes missing. In the storm, Lori gets lost and when she sees someone close to her, she hopes they will help but they turn away. What is happening?? I received an ARC copy and am leaving my review voluntarily.

I enjoyed this book. I liked learning about Lori's story, I love her friend Stella, but I'm not a fan of her sister. I loved the setting for the holidays and cant wait to see what happens between Peter and Lori. This book is well written, the characters are well developed and there is even an adorable little dog called Milo. I'm ready to start book 2 as soon as it is available. If you like stories about good friends and family, and romance in a small town holiday setting I think you may want to definitely start this series.

Book one in this series shows a lot of potential. The story has sibling rivalry, unsettling feelings, misunderstandings, missing money, and more. Lori has a lot to uncover in her family's personal lives that she is startled when she learns her parents have a secret. Angela seems to be bitter and Lori will have to uncover the real reason behind that bitterness while also trying to figure out who cleaned out her bank accounts. It is great to see that she has her bff, Stella there to help her get through all of the chaos. Great start to a series filled with many unanswered questions!.

Another great book to get stuck in to. I loved this first instalment and I enjoyed reading Lori’s story. When things go very sideways for Lori her friend Stella convinces her to go back home for the holidays and although there is some bad blood with her sister, Lori does all she can to help at her parents bed and breakfast. Lori meets Peter, a ski instructor, and they strike up a friendship. This was a fabulous start and I am so eager to see what Ms Parker has in store for us in this new series.

This book is an excellent start to a Christmas series . This book has some intriguing elements that need to be answered. Lori is healing from a devastating breakup, ALL of her money has been stolen, she has been estranged from her family, and she has a fantastic best friend. The characters that are introduced are very realistic with much more to be revealed. I love that these books come out so close together. I am anxiously waiting to read what will be revealed next!

This Booksprout ARC is an interesting start to this series. The writing and plot is captivating.

This is quite a good start to a simple little Christmas-themed series. There are 6 short books in the series of about 100 pages each. I’ve read this author’s “Lighthouse Lane” series which is similar; so far this one seems to be a higher quality writing than the previous work. Happy to see that she seems to be developing her craft.

It’s a very light read with a little bit of mystery and a little bit of romance and a little bit of conflict all wrapped up in a winter ski resort in Vermont. Exactly what I wanted over the holidays!

Intrigue!

A fabulous start to another series by Sage Parker as Lori returns home after a long absence. Her sister, Angela, treats her poorly and her parents are hiding something significant. I love this first book in the series and absolutely can't wait to read the next book with hopes of finding out the secret Lori's parents are hiding.

I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.

A rousing start to a new series. Family dynamics can be so hard to navigate. Why is Angela so mad at Lori, what happened to Lori’s money, what secret are her parents keeping from her, and maybe most importantly, who is Peter and how will he take finding out she is a Meyers? So many questions. Sage Parker is a master at serial stories. I don’t really like them and she keeps me coming back and reading more.

Lori is recently divorced. She and her best friend, Stella, are planning to go on a Christmas vacation to Paris. She clicks on the purchase button and her card is declined! Lori can't figure out what's happened so she logs into her bank accounts and they're completely empty. What could have happened? She files a report with the police however it will be awhile before anything can be figured out. What to do in the meantime as she can't pay any of her bills.
