4 - 4.5 stars!

Em finds herself on a mission to acquire medicine for one of her friends she takes care of in the bottom of a cruiser. Her Omega status doesn’t go unnoticed by Alpha Masst and he intends on taking her for himself.

“I want her. Every part of her. More than that, I want her to want me. To own me. To claim me. I want her to be jealous. Fearsome. Feral. I want her love.”

This was a quick and spicy Omegaverse that was delicious and delightful. Equally dark and sweet, I loved it.

“If I tell you my name, will you cry it out as I sink into your tight, hot little body? Will you beg me to rut you harder? Plead for my knot? Demand my teeth in your flesh?”

I’m loving this short series!

Short and spicy!

So, this short little novella, is the second book in the dystopian Waterworld series and it brought the smut. Like a dirty little Omegaverse amuse-bouche. The very dominate alpha Masst found his omega Em and wasn't taking no for an answer. It was dark and gritty starting with dubcon and leaving us with a sweet bit of an ending. It was right up my alley, and I really enjoyed it. My only negative thought was that I felt the ending was a little abrupt and I wished it was longer. I would love to have a full-length novel in this story world.

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The second quickie in The Knottiverse:Alphas of the Waterworld is just as hot as the first.
Not much of a plot, but lots and lots of spice mixed with a little dub con.
Just the kind of story to read when you have little time, but want to spend it with a book.
A little warning though…..this might cause a little squirming,so if you plan to read it in a waitingroom somewhere, you’ll have to be prepared, lol

I think Cruiser is possibly my favorite Alpha so far! He was such a hard and stern in the beginning and then he turned semi softy! Loved it. If you are looking for something fast paced, quick read with some smut, this series of for you. I get in book slumps where I want something quick and fast paced to grab my attention real quick. Like the author says the series are very light on plot with lots of spice!

Amazing read! Short and just the right amount of 🥵

Em is out to find some medicine for one of her sick friends when she runs into Alpha Maast. Em tries her best to hide her omega status and scent but it’s useless against Alpha Maast who is ready to make her his.

The only con I have is that I wanted more! I would love to read this as a fully fleshed out novel. VT Bonds never disappoints and I can’t wait for the next read!

Smutty, alpha goodness. Mastt and Em's story struck a chord. Fast paced, insta love but this alpha really made his omega wait, while driving himself to his limits end. I loved the backdrop the author provided, painting the dystopian world the characters are from and showing how bad the omega's days were before she met her alpha.

Read book 1 if you haven't yet. (standalone)

Short, spicy, but full of love. I am really loving this series and the short stories. I can knock this out in a day and it’s a great read for in between the longer novels. I love VT’s writing style and how she gives you all the omegaverse spice plus heart. Em and Masst are probably my favorite. That ending 🥹.

This novella is short and spicy. Masst is a morally grey alphahole who quickly went from wanting to break Em to wanting her to love him. I loved Em strength and her spirit. This is another amazing read in the Waterworld series and I can't wait for the next alpha to fall.

I really enjoyed reading this book by V.T. Bonds and once again, she wrote another great story of two great characters. First, I would like to say, it's a wonderful short read that you can get down in one evening while your kiddo heads to bed. Loved that I could snuggled with my favorite blanket and a cup of tea while I read her latest book. I loved how V.T. Bonds wrote Em as a sweet and caring Omega who took in two kids into her care and like any caring Omega, Em risked everything to steal some meds to helped Boon. I love how she already has a heart of a caring mother and knew it could cost her everything to help those kids. Another thing that stands out about Em, she is one brave Omega and the strength it took to care for others. Em doesn't have one selfish bone in her body. With Masst, he knew he wanted her the moment he first laid his eyes on her and just snatched her up and brought her back to his den. At first, while reading their story, I kidna didn't like him at first because he acts like your typically alphahole but as you keep on reading, you see that he truly cares for the sweet Omega. Like for example, over the years, he collected all kinds of soft fabrics and pillows for his future mate and that he kept feeding Em and making sure she felt safe in his arms. In the end, he knew the only way she would ever feel safe and love, if she bought back those two kids back home to live with them as a family. I love that part of the story, the ending. Because it showed that even Masst is this big bad alpha boss, he only wanted to show his love to Em. He wants a family with her, and he knew by having brought home those two kiddos, she would be truly happy with being his mate. I love reading V.T. Bonds books, because even know she writes this dark romance between Alphas and Omega, and yes, they can be hard to read, but in the end, you see the love and joy the Alphas have for their lovely Omega. How every Alpha she writes, shows how they want to have a family, to feel love, to protect their love and care for the Omega that will make any reader heart melt. V.T. Bonds writes where you cheer on the couple and love how the Alpha will die to save his love. I love reading her books and if you are looking for a short but steamy read, then pick up this book from her new series, it's a great read!

Captivating read, characters that hold your attention in full as the plot opens and love grows gently
This is a simply wonderful read and I guarantee that you will be as entranced by the characters that struggle in a time where life is a continual fight, every breath can be snatched away at any time by a larger Alpha or Beta that decides this Omega is not worth the air she breaths.
Em has a small family of her own and since the storm both of the orphans that Em had rescued need medicine to heal and she knows that she has to take topside to the pharmacy, if she is caught, she will lose her life and her little family will then perish as well.
Em knows that her first oestrus is soon upon her. She has hidden her scent by covering herself with oil and scent of decaying rubbish, she dresses in rotten clothing and hopes that this will disguise her scent from any Alpha on board the ship.
Unfortunately, just as she slips the vial of medicine into her pocket, she notices a giant watching her with a smile on his lips, he has seen her and knows that she is an Omega and he knows that she is his and as she runs, he takes up the chase catching her as she sends the medicine down a tiny grid where her small family wait for her.
As Em is cradled in his arms, she feels a kinship to the Alpha that cradles her to him and is starting to begin her oestrous and she requests his nan, Maas he declares and she says his name in awe but she waits to rescue her small family that need her. Imagine her surprise when their bond is in place and she knows that he is her mate, he offers her family a home and she know her mate will care for her ad their growing family.
She us happy and for the first time she knows that he will do everything in his power to ensure her safety, happiness and health and she will ensure her Mate knows that she cares for him and that any young they have will be a miracle of their own making…
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This was a very short but very steamy omegaverse romance with a return to what alphas should be like 😍 Yes this book has dub con in it but the author handles it in the right way.

Our alpha Masst is the biggest and baddest on his ship, literally crushing his challengers heads with his hands but he is also more than that, he is a loyal protector. He takes what he wants from Em but he also cares for her, pampers her, and does what is truly best for her even if she fights him at first out of fear.

Masst catches her stealing medicine for Boon, one of her two charges that she has adopted and hidden away in the broken trash compactor in the recesses of the ship where they live in squalor. He chases her down and brings her back to his personal area of the ship. He gets her showered and tosses her into a gorgeous pile of soft and fluffy fabrics and pillows that he has collected in preparation for finding his omega and tells her to build their nest as her first heat is approaching.

Masst really does control his alpha urges and refuses to hurt her or mate her before she is ready. Their intimate scenes are super spicy 🥵 he is an alpha so of course he is rough, dominating, and demanding but he never hurts her and cares deeply about her pleasure, safety and happiness.

He eventually takes her back down to the trash compactor where she was living with and caring for Tan and Boon and tells her to bring their family home. SWOON. I mean how sweet is that, once they bit and claimed each other during her heat, their mating bond snapped into place and he could feel her worry and sadness about missing them and would not stand for her being unhappy.

Masst was everything that an alpha should be and Em realizes that and how lucky she is to have him; you can feel how in love they are. I wish there was an epilogue so we could see their family grow into the future.

I definitely recommend this spicy little novella and will be reading it again multiple times and cannot wait to read the other stories in the series ❤️

Wish this was a full length novel. 4.5 stars!

I feel like I'm always in a love/hate relationship with novelettes. While I love shorter reads in between longer and maybe more dark reads (nice little palate cleansers to get you back into reading after the hangover you may be experiencing) I do hate being left with the feeling of wanting more. 😩 Okay, maybe hate is too strong of a word bc novelettes definitely have their place and I really enjoyed this, so incredibly much that it left the greedy book vvh0re in me needing more. 😅

I really liked the main characters. The push and pull between Em's omega side and her more rational side was a nice contrast to see. Rather than her giving in completely and loosing her self to these instincts and urges, she was hesitant to submit and showed some resilience, which felt like a more natural way for her to fall for this alpha who upended her life by taking and claiming her.

Masst was a wonderful contrast as well with his initial need to break her as he saw fit but ultimately realized there was more to this alpha-omega pairing dynamic than he first thought, giving into more of the 'we are mates' aspect rather than completely dominating her.

This would've been an automatic 5 stars for me (4.5, I rounded up) if it was fleshed out a bit more bc the writing was great and it hit every mark I look for when reading OV's. I agree with others that the ending felt slightly abrupt but it did fit well with this being a short novelette so I can't complain too much.

It was heavier on the spice but I felt it paired nicely with the amount of plot given. I also wasn't sure how I'd like the dystopian vibes of the waterworld, where they live above it without species evolving somehow, but it made sense and I felt worked.

Overall this was an amazing little package of omegaverse goodness that I immensely enjoyed reading. I will definitely be checking out the first in this series and the next installments to come.

In "Crushed by the Cruiser," V. T. Bonds proves herself a masterful storyteller, adept at crafting immersive worlds and breathing life into compelling characters. Bonds defies the constraints of short-form fiction by seamlessly blending intricate world development with passionate romance, creating a narrative that is both thrilling and deeply emotional.

Em and Masst, the central characters, are portrayed with remarkable depth and complexity. Em's unwavering determination to protect her family and Masst's enigmatic persona add layers of intrigue to their intense love story. Bonds skillfully builds an emotional connection between the reader and these characters, making their journey through a harsh and unforgiving world all the more compelling.
As the plot unfolds, readers are drawn into a world where every breath is a struggle for survival. Em's daring mission to secure medicine for her loved ones amidst danger underscores the resilience of the human spirit, while Masst's unexpected role in her life adds a touch of mystery and passion.

"Crushed by the Cruiser" is a captivating read that seamlessly combines action, romance, and suspense. Bonds expertly balances the heat of the romance with the intricacies of the plot, creating a narrative that is as exhilarating as it is poignant.
I wholeheartedly recommend "Crushed by the Cruiser" to readers seeking an enthralling literary experience. Bonds' skillful storytelling and rich character development make this book a standout in its genre. With its blend of heart-pounding romance and compelling narrative, this is a story that will linger in your thoughts long after the final page is turned.

Genre: omegaverse romance
POV: Dual
Ending: HEA

This story is short but HOT! Readers should be aware that the alpha is very possessive and the omega is reluctant, but the HEA is lovely. I really like the setting of these books (I mean, an omegaverse spin on Waterworld? Yes please) and the concept that the problem with humanity is in how we treat others. So the fact that the alphas became big and powerful and abused the omegas instead of caring for them means that nothing grows and thrives. Masst comes to realize that he loves his little omega he’s captured and wants more than to just own her, and not only tells her but shows her as well. I will definitely be continuing this series and, if you like dark omegaverse, would recommend you try this!

I received a copy of the book from the author, but my review is entirely voluntary and honest.

My shelves/tags might be considered spoilers, so look at your own risk!

Thank you V.T. Bonds for an arc of your new book 😍

In this world, they all live on giant ships in the ocean after the earth has been destroyed. Women and children are scarce after The Madness. With extinction in the near future, the rest of humanity split into three subspecies: alphas, betas, and omegas. Now they all try to survive on their floating cities with omegas avoiding alphas at all costs.

Em ventures out of her hidden home when one of the children she’s taken in gets sick. She knows he needs medicine and takes the risk of stealing it. But while she does, the alpha of the ship catches her and he knows that she’s an omega. Determined to make her his, he takes her back to his home, refusing to let her leave. Can he win her over? And can she overcome her fear of what men like him have done to omegas in the past?

I’m still learning how the Omegaverse works 😅 but I was still so happy to read this one! Sometimes you just need a quick and spicy read with an over the top mmc. And that is what this book offers 🔥

For a short story, this was a great read. I like that even though Masst's initial reaction to Em being his mate is to be brutal, but he can't entirely. In the world that they are in, as an alpha he is supposed to be secure dominance, especially over his mate and an omega. He realizes that Em is a natural fighter and finds ways to tame her slowly but surely along with accepting their bond.

This short is full of lots of spice, but I did find myself wishing that there was more of a backstory. Since I tend to read a lot of novels, I was wanting more of their backstory, and an full narrative of the dystopian world they are in. Maybe in the future we'll get one.

Until then, read this for something to get you in the mood.

I have fallen in love with these omegaverse novellas by @v.t.bonds They are light on plot, but HEAVY on spice. Sometimes I want to go into a book and know that the man is going to ravish the FMC and there is a guaranteed HEA. Life is too wild sometimes to not read something with a growly Alpha and the Omega he has to have.

Taken by the Tanker, book 1 in the Knottiverse, was perfection and this second installment is no different. Masst is a hardened (in more ways than one, sorry mom 🤪) alpha in this dystopian/Water World setting, and Em is an omega content on not being an alpha’s prize. Masst finds and *cough cough* detains Em and his smitten from there. It has my favorite mini trope, he’s only soft for her 🥹

I love this mad dystopian world of life aboard a floating city where dirt is a prize possession and omegas are in very short supply. Masst is a super domineering alpha who has been preparing for his omega for a long time. His private space is stuffed full of the coveted nesting materials he has been hoarding awaiting his mate. Em is the feisty omega who has been fighting to protect two youngsters she has adopted as found family. When she is forced to leave her safe hideout in search of medicine, Masst quickly gets her scent and chases her down.

If you love your omegaverse stuffed full of spice, this series is a perfect fit. Masst is all about taking what is his and Em is unable to fight her omega instincts. Each finds their perfect match in the other and actually they are a pretty cute match behind closed doors. The spice is heated, the read is quick and the knot is considerable!

This is a fast paced, spicy novella with dubcon and an alpha who is determined to have his omega.

The second instalment of the Alphas of the Waterworld is Masst aka Cruiser and Ems story.
Em is a caring Omega who has two orphans under her care, keeping herself and them hidden, using her skills to hide and pickpocket to keep them surviving.
Masst is the top alpha in charge who notices Em and takes her during her attempt to get medicine for one of her orphans. We see some change in Masst, the battle between owning/having his omega and not crushing her. Masst having all the best provisions stockpiled for his omega shows he has a soft side which was sweet.

It had some gaps that left me wanting more, a need to know what happens next with some of the secondary characters but otherwise it was a well written and I look forward to the next.

Crushed by the Cruiser - Sprite

‘I still want to own the little omega, but I no longer want to crush her spirit. The thought of her as a broken, mindless puppet disturbs me. I want to nourish her ferocity. The need to pamper and coddle sweeps the floor out from under my feet. I freefall as her bright green eyes superimpose themselves into my innermost thoughts. I want her. Every part of her.’

In an omegaverse where water is a commodity, VT Bonds creates an emotionally steamy setting with characters who have very specific needs. An omega with survival needs and an alpha who controls all in his sight are the two main characters.

Bonds has a strong series of novellas that are heart crushing and physically exhausting to read, as the levels of behaviors of each of the beings we meet are twisted and turned. Extreme Omegaverse!

Really great read and enjoyable read.
This is the second book in the series.
Em was a omega and she lived in a trash compactor looking after two kids that she called family.
She went out to steal medicine for one of them cause they were sick.So she disguises herself in filth and make sure her scent can't b picked up by the alpha.
But she wrong some how alpha Masst who rules these parts gets her scent and chase her and take her back to his place.
He wants to own/break/claim her but things don't go to plan.
This book is alpha dominated with a very feisty omega smoking 🔥🔥🔥 with really Steamy scenes and dirty talk with a hea.
You will need either a cold drink/shower after reading this book.
Well written short and I loved it.Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Recommend reading for mature/18+

So, VT Bonds is back with her amazing Waterworld series of quickies. She is up to her usual sizzling hi-jinks with another short but smoking-hot tale that I devoured! I just love the way this author writes; love the characters she is so good at creating. I understand there will be 4 of these stories altogether and I intend on reading (and re-reading) them all. These are very well-developed Omegaverse stories in a dystopian world setting where water has covered all land masses on Earth. They are short, just right for reading on your lunch break, while waiting at the doctor's office, or as a spicy treat for reading at bedtime. I was pleased to be able to read an early copy of this book, and this is my freely given opinion. Loved it!

Boon needs medicine

Em is an omega in hiding for good reasons. The world is now covered in water and civilization has become the strongest will survive, the alphas. Em lives in a trash compactor aboard a ship in a small room with her adopted family of Boon and Tan, both orphans. Boon gets injured during a storm and needs medicine to start the healing of his wound. Em sets out to go to the market. Someone is watching her and she can’t shake the feeling off. She runs almost making it back through the vent, but her ankle is grabbed by the biggest, meanest alpha on the cruiser. And her life is over as she knows it. I am thoroughly enjoying these short heat packed stories. They are sweet. I recommend them to all.

I'm a sucker for world development and that's usually something that gets pushed aside when it comes to shorts, but V. T. Bonds is a master at bringing her worlds alive. She also is able to bring her characters to life, build an emotional connection between the reader and the characters, and create passionate love stories with a lot of heat.

Em is strong, loving, and willing to do whatever it takes to keep her little family safe. Masst is actually more than he seems. Maybe it's because of the Mate Bond, or maybe it's because in this vicious world you can't show anything but your brutal side. Either way, he surprised me. I found their love story beautiful and brutal, but also tender.

I'm really enjoying these quicker reads and I'm excited to meet the next couple.

Crafty lil’sprite in her attempt to escape! Ok, so I think I understand better, if the Omega is treated badly = barren, if cared for = babies and green thumb 👍 🌱🌱🌱🌱, you know since he took the time to bathe her he should have washed her hair too🙄
📚Well done in such a short book!!📚
A quick “dark dystopian human omegaverse romance”, he’s harsher, but much better prepared for a family and Love❤️❤️❤️❤️ and that was a great surprise at the end!!!!!

We revisit the Knottiverse and Alpha’s of the Waterworld with Crushed by the Cruiser, and I’m all for it. I *very much* look forward to each new Knottiverse release. They’re super spicy, (so far) on the dark side, well written and developed reads.

Cruiser is a solid addition to this ‘verse. Em is a struggling omega in dire need of medication for one of the orphans that have become her found-family. Uneasily, leaving both in their hiding spot, she makes her way to the market. And into the sight line of an alpha. And not just any alpha, but The Cruiser.

And what follows is a steam packed, omegaverse snack of a story. Yum!

I'm loving this dystopian world filled with Alphas, Omegas and Betas.

I definitely loved the bond between Em and Masst. Deep down, you could tell that Masst was definitely a big softy and just wanted to love and cherish Em even though the Alpha side was wanting to crush her.
In such a short amount of time, you could tell they fell for each other and Masst proved that side of him when he went back to where Em originally lived so she could bring her family back with them and live a beautiful life together.

This story was very wholesome. It definitely had the spice but I believe the plot was just as important as short as this was.

Ahhhhhhhh! I thought I couldn’t enjoy a novella more than the last one but oh my goodness! This one was sooooooo gooood!! It was also a quick read like the first one of the series and I absolutely loved it but honestly I enjoyed this one more!

The MMC was a brutal alpha with a soft center for his omega, our FMC. He understood her fears and went out of his way to assure her comfort and assuage her fears. His gentleness along with his brutality is what made me enough this story more!

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed when the alpha takes charge! Make sure to read any trigger warnings before you dive in! But I promise this novella may be short but it gives you plenty of feelings!

I absolutely loved this short story! I didn't realize how much I liked the #omegaverse, but it is quickly becoming one of my favorite tropes! This is the second book in the Alphas of the Waterworld series, but you don't need to have read the first one. The gist of this story is that Em, our omega, is hiding on a ship in a dystopian future. Our mmc, Masst, the alpha finds her and takes her captive. Our story progresses from there and hits all the tropes you could want! My only pathetic criticism is that I wish there was more of a 🍞ing aspect and I wish it was longer 😂! I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
