I love cleopatra fox and harry. Although it's a subplot, the romance in this series is written in a way that makes me swoon and makes the books I normally read, which I admit are pretty explicit and normally "get down to it" like right away, look so boring and menial by comparison. It's been a while since I've felt that rush of a true romance, where the connection is really based on knowing one another over time and not just two hot people (even though harry is so, so hot). Something about it is just so refreshing, although I do wish it was moving a bit faster!!
I really like that CJ Archer is giving me the strong female lead I crave and also delightful murder mysteries. These are normally very happy books for me to read. I can't wait for the next one to come out. Thank you CJ Archer!

Love the characters in this series, love the setting, love a murder mystery. BUT, it’s starting to feel like CJ Archer has no plan for a larger story arc: the murders will change but the characters will never progress, grow, or develop. It’s infuriating and deeply disappointing. AND it sounds like next book will be more of the same. Will I still buy it? Yes. Will I still devour it in a matter of hours like my life depends on finishing it? Also yes. Will it be disappointing and require me to leave angry ranting reviews all over the interwebs? Hoping for the best but planning for the worst.

I read all 3 books and really loved them. I plan to read the rest of her stories. They are easy to follow, fun to read, and a murder without all the fear and gore of other books.
