Twilight's Princess: A sweet clean regency high fantasy romance with a strong female lead

Rate this book

Today, my life changed.
A visit to the doctor forces me to look at my choices. An unexpected visitor tests my relationship with Taven, the elf I plan to marry. Half-breed women, like me, are rounded up by King Edmund. A maid from the palace claims I’m the Twilight Realm princess. And Prince Daniel wants us to flee from the Night Realm to the Twilight Realm because of his father. Is this day a nightmare? And when will I wake up? But it’s not, and I must stay one step ahead of King Edmund if I want to live.

The Twilight Realm King asked for help finding his lost sister, Zyanna. My father, the Night Realm King, sees this as a political opportunity and agrees to find her, but only to arrange a marriage between the princess and me. It’s a race against my father to find her. When I do, I beg her to leave the Night Realm in exchange for sanctuary in the Twilight Realm. Only leaving isn't easy, and we are both trapped while the lives of our loved ones are threatened by the king.
But I will keep my promise and help Zyanna escape the Night Realm even if it costs me everything.

Twilight’s Princess is the second book in the Twilight Realm Series. If you like a strong female lead who helps the prince save his kingdom, if you are a fan of sweet, clean regency romance where the characters are forced together, and if you like strong world-building, elves, and magic, this book is for you.

As promised, Twilight's Princess is a sweet, clean fantasy read with a regency romance tale woven in. It was just what I needed after a heavier read.

In Twilight's Princess, we get to follow Prince Daniel and Princess Zyanna as they navigate new territory, all while encountering powerful enemies and unforeseen challenges. Zyanna deals with a number of issues right at the beginning of this story, and her inner strength is admirable and encouraging all throughout the book as she takes whatever life throws at her in stride.

I love that, even though this book is set in another world and one with magic, it deals with certain issues that many of us often face in the real world and can relate to.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Zyanna and Daniel's paths will intertwine with Nix (and Zoe's? ) and where Yarissa and Logon will fit into it all as they face the prospect of war in the final installment.
