Successfully Single: Your Guide to Maximizing Your Single Years and Preparing for Marriage

Rate this book
If you desire to be successfully married one day, this book will prepare you to achieve that goal by helping you learn how to be successfully single.

Singleness is hard. While it’s supposed to be a beautiful season for the Christ follower of self-discovery, undivided devotion to Christ, and fun and adventure along the way, it can easily become a seemingly endless season filled with disappointment, discouragement, loneliness and frustration, sexual and otherwise.

Navigating your season of singleness in a way that honors God and prepares you well for marriage can be tough. The world is telling you to cast off restraint and have fun while you’re single, but that lifestyle will not lay a good foundation for a future marriage. The church is telling you to find contentment in Jesus or, even worse, accept that you might have the gift of singleness.

In Successfully Single, Ericka shares her journey through singlehood until she married at thirty-three years of age. She shares her struggles, victories and the lessons she learned along the way. Ericka suggests a formula for becoming successfully single through focusing on being a whole, healthy, holy and happy person.

If you want to maximize your season of singleness and prepare well for marriage, then this book is for you!

In this book you will learn how to…

Ericka Wiggins covers it all in this book! It is chock full of wisdom she has gained during her own time as a Christian single person, as well as pulling from other great sources and her experiences after marrying too. I was single until I was 28 and can relate to a lot of what Ericka shares. I think anyone who is single in the Church will benefit from this book. However, there are a lot of principles here that can be useful for anyone, not just singles. Especially the sections about physical, mental, and spiritual health. All in all, it's a really great read.

Ericka writes with such wisdom and vulnerability that makes this book one that is a great resource for people from multiple walks of life. If you are single, but long to use this season as one that is glorifying to the Lord, Ericka describes her journey before marriage as well as provides encouragement. For those with singles in their life, this is a great read for those looking for nuggets of insight on what it is to be single as well as ways you can uplift those around you. I would highly recommend this book. Such a great read and resource!
