Only he can stop the corruption and protect those he loves. But will returning to Hungary result in his own destruction?
Peter Andrassy can’t rest. Fresh from solving his wife’s murder, the former NYC detective is back in Hungary and on a mission. His attention is centered on exposing the leader of the human trafficking syndicate in Budapest.
Learning of a plot to kill Lili, a beautiful young female TV reporter, Peter acts quickly and abducts her. When he learns she’s been fired for an unauthorized interview of a trafficking victim, his plans change. The dead girl’s best friend is missing and being hunted by the traffickers. The leader of the criminal organization is feeling the pressure and is out for blood.
If you've read the other 2 books in DJ Maughan's Vanished series, this 3rd installment wraps up the storyline.
Some events/circumstances are hard to follow (I had to read a couple sections more than once), but the author does a good job of tying up the loose ends from the other novels.
As with the others, I still feel there could be some tighter editing of events, and there are typos, but they didn't ruin the storyline.
I'm also not sure how this last installment would be as a standalone novel. Readers may be missing too much back story.
I am so sad this series has come to an end. I read these so fast. This book in particular I finished within four hours. I stayed up reading late into the night. The story line is just so good, along with the twists. As I have stated in my other reviews, I also really like how this series teaches you about Hungarian culture and history.
WOW!!!! What an amazing ending to this series! No plots left unfinished, no holes, no confusion, fully satisfied! Love Peter, his ambition and how he will always protect others!
Such a satisfying ending to The Vanished series. All the feels. Brilliant book and an amazing series about the real-life tragedy that is the human trafficking nightmare in our world.
