Net als deel 1 een supermooi en leerzaam boek. Prachtige illustraties weer. Begrijp ik nu alles van de filosofie? Zeker niet. Maar deze serie was wel een soort fijne introductie.

Sendo uma adaptação, este livro acaba por ser diferente daquele que lhe deu origem. Daquilo que me lembro do original (o que já não é muito, confesso), penso que aqui se reforçam certas ideias (como o feminismo e a protecção do ambiente) que não estavam tão presentes no livro de Gaarder. O final é um pouco difícil de entender, talvez, mas é fiel ao original.
No geral, gostei de ler e aconselho a leitura deste livro.

I guess it does what it says: summarizes western philosophy. Too bad so many of those philosopher's ideas come of as batshit (often because they overgeneralize by confusing 'some' with 'all'). I got especially riled up by the inclusion of Freud, which would be okay if only they spent some time discussing what a fraud he was.

“Sartre decía que las cuestiones existenciales no pueden resolverse de una vez por todas. Que una cuestión filosófica es por definición algo a lo que cada generación, o cada persona, tendrá que enfrentarse.
Cuando leí eso, al principio pensé que no era muy alentador, pero luego me dije: ¡Todo lo contrario! ¿No es haciéndonos ese tipo de preguntas cuando nos sentimos vivos? Y si he leído bien el cómic…¿No es tratando de resolver preguntas irresolubles cuando el hombre halla respuestas claras y definitivas a otra serie de problemas?

Die Romanvorlage zu dieser Graphic Novel ist mir noch immer sehr gut in Erinnerung. Das Mammutwerk des norwegischen Autors Jostein Garder hat mich zum ersten Mal mit der Geschichte der Philosophie in Verbindung gebracht. Nach 30 Jahren ist es Zeit für eine Auffrischung der besonderen Art.
Sofie bekommt mysteriöse Briefe. Die Fragen „Wer bist du?“ und „Woher kommt die Welt?“ lösen eine bildhafte Reise von den Anfängen der Philosophie bis in die Gegenwart aus. Die Romanvorlage wurde frei interpretiert. Wir begegnen auch hier Aristoteles, Thomas von Aquin, Kant und Nietzsche. Machen uns mit ihren Ideen vertraut und begleiten Sie ein Stück ihres Lebens. Genau so sind wir an der Seite von Sofie, die den geheimnisvollen Briefe Schreiber sucht und am Ende des ersten Teils eine skurrile Entdeckung macht.
Mich hat das Buch nicht nur wieder von seiner inhaltlichen Idee begeistert, sondern auch die Transformierung in die heutige Gegenwart ist richtig gut gelungen. Ich muss ehrlich sagen, mir gefällt es sogar besser als das Original! Das Mädchen ist ein Teenager der 2020er Jahre mit all seinen Problemen. Sie kämpft auch vor den Philosophen für mehr Feminismus, setzt sich für eine besseren Umgang mit Umwelt und Naturein und lebt im digitalen Zeitalter. Die eigentliche Aussage des Buches werden davon nicht verändert. Die Autoren haben den Plot verjüngt und für Jugendliche und Erwachsene der Gegenwart gut lesbar gemacht. Die Zeichnungen sind farbenfroh und detailreich. Man spart nicht mit Ironie und Humor, was mir sehr gut gefallen hat. Und das Ende ist einmal mehr überraschend und richtig gut gelöst, denn „Existenz heißt die eigene Existenz zu erschaffen.“ 😉
Eine große Lese Empfehlung für alle, die ihr philosophisches Wissen noch mal auffrischen möchten und den Roman neu entdecken wollen.

Zosia jest czternastoletnią dziewczynką, która próbuje zrozumieć największe filozoficzne przesłania mające swoje źródła w starożytności. I tak poznaje główne nurty, które swoje zakończenie mają w czasach współczesnych. I to właśnie jest jej świat, „Świat Zofii”.
Moje pierwsze spotkanie z książką nastąpiło pod koniec lat 90-tych ubiegłego wieku. Pamiętam, że do połowy książka niesamowicie mnie wciągnęła i pragnęłam odkrywać tajemnice wraz z bohaterką, jednak jej druga połowa powodowała, ze czytanie szło mi opornie i niejednokrotnie miałam ochotę odłożyć ją na półkę niedokończoną. Przebrnęłam przez fabułę do końca jednak czytanie nie sprawiało mi już takiej frajdy.
Teraz na rynku wydawniczym pojawił się komiks z przygodami Zośki i jej światem. W części pierwszej nasza bohaterka poznaje filozofów od czasów Sokratesa do Galileusza. Natomiast tom drugi książki wydanej w formie komiksu to czasy od Kartezjusza do współczesności.
Chociaż pierwotna książka nie jest objętościowym gigantem to jednak forma rysunkowa wymagała aby podzielić ja na dwie części. I właśnie ta forma graficzna spowodowała, że ta druga część z którą w przeszłości miałam problem aby ją dokończyć, iż zdecydowanie łatwiej przyswajało mi się treści w niej zawarte. Nie nużyła, kartki szybko się przewracały a treść nie „przelatywała” mimochodem obok mnie a została ze mną na dłużej.
Zatem jeśli kiedykolwiek mieliście „problem” ze „Światem Zofii” to ten przekaz powinien do was trafić jak również do osób, które czytają tylko i wyłącznie komiksy. Zanurzcie się z Zośką w nurty filozoficzne dryfując z nią przez wieki i poznajcie clue każdego z nich oraz samych siebie.

As with the first part, I liked the illustrations and the philosophical content. However, some of the connections to modern day felt forced. The endless insistence on bringing up environmental issues felt just a bit too obviously forced. Informing people is great, but endlessly trying to convince readers to be activists is simply grating to the readers. In addition, some of the sections of the story involving Sophie felt annoying. The combination of story and philosophy is a good way of teaching, but I would have preferred almost a more pure philosophy, and just getting to know the characters through them teaching the reader philosophy. Sophie's whole question of who she is and if she can have any control is an interesting example of existentialism and determinism, but just not that interesting of a story.

Volume 2 arrived! I still find it amazing how you can take historical aspects and turn them into alternating means of mediums to help get such information across to a variety of audiences. (Similar to what Hamilton does for History as well).
This is much more of an interesting reference to philosophers and helping understand key concepts of philosophers from the second half of history to the present day. Sophie as a main character also we find begins to apply these possibilities to herself more in this volume 2, and the reader wonders how much of this is autobiographical about the author....hmmmmm?
I love alternate versions of content and Gaarder does not disappoint with volume 2, as well as in Volume 1, that helps bring the world of philosophy in another form to many.

Encontrei aqui os pormenores e explicação que me faltaram no primeiro e que me cativaram desde a primeira vez que li a história, aos 15 anos. Sinto que este livro, de certa forma, moldou os meus gostos literários de hoje em dia.
Os caminhos da filosofia, reflexões sobre grandes questões, atualidade e modernidade. E o melhor: Uma história dentro de outra (e mais não posso dizer!)
E enquanto novela gráfica absolutamente fascinante.

Um romance gráfico muito bem conseguido. Inspirado no original, consegue adicionar vários apontamentos que tornam a leitura mais completa pois reflete a evolução da personagem.
Conhecer a história e a evolução da filosofia é crítico para nos entendermos enquanto seres humanos e nos desafiarmos como pessoas com potencial para sermos mais.
A Sofia consegue fazer um caminho de aprendizagem histórica e pessoal que é um convite para nós próprios o fazermos.
Obrigatório para adolescentes e para quem quer ser PESSOA num mundo em transformação acelerada.
Conhecer a história e a evolução da filosofia é crítico para nos entendermos enquanto seres humanos e nos desafiarmos como pessoas com potencial para sermos mais.

Just like the first volume in this graphic novel retelling of Sophie’s World, I enjoyed this tremendously. More than 30 years ago, the original book was my introduction to philosophy, and I have enjoyed it ever since. I prefer the ancients (the Greeks, the Stoics) to modern philosophers, but still: philosophy is good for the brain.

The book is a really good way to get into philosophy with engaging stories and characters which makes you question yourself and the book itself. It’s quite funny too and gave me more paths of philosophical to look into which is always fun .
I can’t really give an in depth review without spoilers so to my 3 friends on Goodreads if you’re interested in philosophy give these graphical novels a shot!

Gostei muito do livro! Como ainda não li o romance a que lhe deu origem não posso fazer uma análise comparativa mas acredito que esta versão tomou um rumo diferente.
As gags foram muito bem pensadas e conferem um lado humorístico que acrescenta muito à história.
A ideia de autoria, de importância da banda desenhada e dos seus limites são temas frequentemente abordados! Os ”diálogos” entre criador e criação, autor e personagem são deliciosos.
Fiquei muito curiosa para ler a obra original.
As gags foram muito bem pensadas e conferem um lado humorístico que acrescenta muito à história.

2. Ik kon de filosofen niet echt volgen, en die ik wel al een beetje kende, vond ik soms slecht uitgelegd. (Zelfs de 'filosoof' Darwin heeft echt niet een ingewikkelde theorie: de evolutietheorie, maar werd wel heel omslachtig uitgelegd.)

this was a super creative comic book that teaches philosophy and I learned a lot about it.
this book was challenging for me because it was difficult to understand philosophy but I got the hang of it.
my favorite character was Alberto he is wise but is also funny.
i liked the ending only that surprise surprise it was a cliffhanger.

Un livre qui a été plus lourd que le premier, le comique de répétition de la fuite du livre faisant qu'on s'attarde moins sur les auteurs. De plus, la philosophie de Nietzsche a été mal comprise. Néanmoins, le format est plaisant et la fin permet de rattraper cette lecture plus difficile.

Kembali berpetualangan bersama Sophie dan Alberto untuk memahami filsafat. Kita diajak bertemu beberapa filsuf ternama dan juga memahami pemikirannya.

Idealna książka, by wejść w świat myśli filozoficznej i umiejscowić ją pomiędzy abstrakcją a rzeczywistością. Dla tych, którzy lubią małe ćwiczenia mentalne i chcieliby wiedzieć, co wcześniej wymyślono. Nie jest to oczywiście nauka historii filozofii, ale jest inspiracją do jej zgłębienia

Very good adaptation, adding existential flourishes appropriate to the medium while also demonstrating the philosophy under discussion (at the end, at least).

Melanjutkan buku 1, cerita petualangan Sophie di buku 2 ini tak kalah menarik. Malah karena filsuf yg dibahas secara waktu lebih dekat ke sekarang, rasanya jadi lebih seru.
