Note to self – Try not to get stuck in a blizzard with a grumpy pilot.
I love my single life but my photography career is stalled. I need to get to Oregon – quick – and my career could take off.
The private pilot I hire is very handsome – dark hair, nice build - but short on words. His gruff exterior puts me off, but I need him for this assignment.
Adding to Mr. Grumpy’s attitude is an unexpected blizzard, forcing us to make an emergency landing. Now we’re stuck together in a hotel until it’s safe to fly.
I’m bracing myself for a horrible couple of days – the possibility of losing my job and being around Mr. Grumpy.
But I’m seeing a whole other side to this ex-Navy pilot. He’s calming me down as I’m freaking out. I didn’t expect to find a bit of cinnamon roll under that rough exterior.
A power outage adds even more chaos to our dilemma, and we’re forced to share a room. And a kiss. Now I wonder if this is the beginning of something special or just a weekend fling thing.
Grumpy Billionaire Pilot is a sweet clean romance with Gabe and Grace - total opposites. Discover how crazy circumstances can help love blossom into happily ever after.
I just couldn't get into this story at all. Nothing really grabbed me or made me want to keep reading so I sort of skimmed through to see if anything would stand out. Sorry, it I just didn't read it all the way through.
This is book one of The Delaney Brothers series and the main characters are Tulsa private pilot Gabe (Gabriel) Delaney and photographer and reporter Grace Overstreet, who has been stuck taking photos of concerts at various locations and doing write-ups for years. She is bored of it and jumps when the chance to do a series of tourism columns comes up. She chooses Corinth in Oregon for the first article, against her editor’s choice, but gets the go ahead now she needs to manage to get there in the cheapest way possible. When she spots Gabe in the front rows at the classical concert she has to photo, she remembers he does private flights and speaks to him at the end of the concert, not something he is too happy with at the time. He is really grumpy about her wanting to discuss business with him, especially when she mentions where it is she wants to fly to! He has a free slot the following week, but warns her of a huge storm that may hit during that window, something she is looking forward to, hoping for snow on the ground for her photos of the town’s attractions. Once she can arrange everything by email or text, matters seem to take a more professional role and everything is sorted out efficiently. What Gabe wasn’t used to, was Grace’s incessant talking throughout their flight, rather than enjoying the sights outside the window. When the weather gets increasing wore as the storm front hits, Gabe has to ask her to stop talking, to allow him to concentrate on getting them down safely, wherever he can!
He has to put down in a small town called Dawn, in Colorado, quite a ways form where she really wanted to end up. They are lucky to get one of the last two hire cars and are given directions to an inn and he has to concentrate on the treacherous roads to reach it. They get two rooms, but Gabe soon ends up sleeping on the floor in his room, when Grace has an issue with hers. She sees a very different side of Gabe as she undertakes this with no complaints and is extremely helpful in a trying time for her. The bad weather causes a power outage for the inn as well, leaving Grace without any of her things for a few days. Days spent mostly in Gabe’s proximity allow them to get a lot closer and they end up even having a kiss, with Gabe professing he finds her attractive. She has gotten used to his presence and finds comfort in his calm presence. When the weather starts to clear, their chance to get even closer suddenly bursts, with their onward journey to Corinth and Grace’s sudden deadline to get the job finished before the end of the month or lose her job! After finishing all her main images and sending them off, she takes him into the small town centre where she takes a few more photos and he gets to see first-hand just how good a photographer she is! The tourism article is a success for a short time, leaving Grace free to travel to a few more locations and ask Gabe to fly her there and back, with news of other success as well. He hadn’t forgotten her in the weeks since they got back from Corinth and romance soon starts when they reconnect, with lots of changes to come in the near future and a huge surprise when he introduces her to his family and has to explain just how well off they and he are. It could bring a bit of a hiccup to the relationship, but they soon move onward and upwards, as both continue their dreams for the future. A sweet grumpy to comforting relationship which turns to romance. I received an ARC copy of this book form BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
3.7⭐️ This one was great, i enjoyed some things but i feel it was a little to rushed but otherwise i really liked.
What I found on the other side was Gabe waiting for me, looking out against the sea. “I know. I wanted you to see this side before we left,” he said. “Put the camera down and look with me for a moment.” He turned to face me, chuckling. “You always forget to look for yourself instead of through the viewfinder. Come here and look.” I walked over and stood beside him. He put an arm around my shoulders, and I leaned into his chest. The view here was indeed beautiful. The ocean sparkled in the sunlight, in a way that I would never be able to capture on the camera. It was here that Gabe pulled away. I turned to face him but was not prepared for what he had decided to do. He had knelt down to one knee and held a small black box in his hands. “Grace Overstreet, I know we have only been dating a few months, but since our first trip together, I have felt this electric connection to you. Though I’m still working on showing it… I love you. Completely. You taught me the importance of dreams when I thought all that mattered was making sure that I could do what I wanted safely. Grace, will you marry me?” “Gabriel Delaney, I would be the happiest woman in the world if we got married. Yes.” He smiled widely as he placed the ring on my finger. We shared another kiss there at the top of the lighthouse.
“I’m proud to see how you’ve come so far in your photography business, Grace. It suits you well, being such a successful businesswoman. And I like that it allows you to keep dreaming.” “I couldn’t have gotten this far without you, Gabe,” I said as I took his hand. “You taught me how to do all the business stuff that keeps me afloat without any legal troubles.” He chuckled and pulled me closer, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Hey, if I can keep my dreamer grounded so she doesn’t get in trouble, I’m more than happy to oblige,” he teased me.
Loved this story of a pilot and an newspaper photographer Her boss didn’t appreciate her talent. She was taking a chance with a small plane owner. Both were very experienced. Their destination was cut short with a fierce winter storm. Yet skills from both, sharing what they both had and real communication brought this story to life
I enjoyed this book from Willow Finn. It is a sweet story about Gabe the pilot and Grace the photographer and they get caught in a snow storm and get stranded in a hotel. If you like good clean romances this book is for you.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The book was pretty good, but it moved fairly quickly. I didn't expect much less from a book with only 150 pages, but there was a lot of skipping around. It's a good read if you just want something short to keep you busy.
I really wanted to like this but it was hard to get into. It spent more time on before they got together than it did on their relationship. They made it official and in the next chapter they were getting engaged. It didn’t make sense. There was no substance to the story.
I loved the storyline and the characters. The description of how Grace captured her stunning photos was very interesting. Gabe is such a great guy with a big heart. I’m anxious to read more Delaney Bros books.
