Play by the rules and you’ll never get what you deserve.
Tyler Golden is all about control. It’s an attitude that helped him and his brother build Haven, a boutique hotel in Philadelphia. The only thing Tyler couldn’t control was his fiancée’s death. It left him emotionally guarded, and willing to go only so far with women: satisfying his sexual needs.
Kate Song knows the feeling. Her sole focus is her dream to be a lingerie designer. She’s not about to be distracted by any man. No matter who he is. Or how demanding. Or forceful. Or captivatingly sexy. Or so she thought.
Tyler has the power to make her dream come true. Who can say no to such a dominating personality? Who would want to? Not Kate. Offering her body for submission is one thing. But giving her heart and soul is another. Now Tyler may discover that the one woman who taught him to love again is the one woman he might not be able to keep.

“I think once I get to know you better” – she paused to smile – “there won’t be anything I won’t let you do to me. And that’s a little scary.”
Tyler felt Kate’s softly spoken words reverberate through his body with the force of a blow to the head.
(…)
The desires he hadn’t fed in years began to gnaw at his gut, urging him to pull her out of the booth and into an elevator headed for the fourth floor. “Kate…would you like a tour of the Salon?”
She didn’t hesitate. “I’d love one.”
Kate has ended her engagement to a man she knew wasn’t going to make her happy. But she can’t get Tyler, a man she only met for one night, out of her head. When they meet again after her engagement is over, they spend one sexy night together that shakes Kate up. She’s never been with a man like Tyler, one who’s dominant, who likes to try any and everything and who makes her lose herself.
Tyler never thought he’d let himself feel deeply for another person again after losing the woman he loved to a brain tumor. He’s been with other women since but kept his walls up, but Kate makes him want more for the first time since Mia. After he takes her to his hotel’s Salon, a room where fantasies happen, he starts to open up a part of himself that he’s kept hidden. Neither he nor Kate know where this is going, but they start to crave each other’s company both in and out of the bedroom.
I really liked Kate. She went to school to work as a costume designer, but finds herself back home working at a drycleaners but making sexy lingerie in her free time that Jared, Tyler’s brother and business partner, wants to put in their spa new venture. She’s nervous about the offer and taking a risk but when a second offer comes to her that would include a move to New York, she has to decide between her dream of working as costume designer for an off-Broadway production or starting up her own business as a lingerie designer and staying with Tyler. I liked getting the personal details about Kate’s life. So much time is focused on her and Tyler and all the different, various ways they have sex that it felt like their business lives, which do play very important roles for both of them, gets a little lost. Don’t get me wrong, the sex is insanely hot (more on that below) but it did get to the point where I wish there would have been one or two fewer sex scenes simply because I started thinking ‘another one?’. But what we do learn about their business lives is interesting and the story really does focus almost solely on Kate and Tyler and it was nice to not have the story move all over the place.
The sex – hot. Seriously, these two were smoking, so if you want an erotic read, look no further. I hate saying there might have been too many sex scenes, especially when talking about an erotic book, but there was for me. There is light BDSM in the form of restraints and there is one threesome scene with Tyler, Kate and Tyler’s best friend. Otherwise it’s all Kate and Tyler and Kate makes good use of her clothing creations!
I liked getting to know Kate and Tyler. There is some relationship angst (of course) that brings their relationship to a turning point at the end. It felt a little tossed in, especially when reading Tyler’s reaction, but it’s resolved quickly and I sort of thought, what was the point of that? But it wasn’t enough to take away from my enjoyment of the story and as I said above, if you’re looking for a sexy, erotic read, this one fits the bill.
My rating: 4.5 stars: Loved it - enthusiastically recommend (A) Originally posted at That's What I'm Talking About Digital review copy provided by the publisher for an honest review.
I'm just going to come out and say that No Reservations is another wonderful story from Ms. Julian's Salon Games series and one of the best erotic romance stories of 2013. The author knows how to write amazingly erotic sex scenes with tender romance and real emotions at the heart of the story. Tyler and Kate experience an immediate and intense attraction, which they readily explore right from the start. The pair wants to explore and be free with one another, but also to get to know and understand one another. Even with a few reservations, they allow themselves to go after what makes them feel good.
I admire that Ms. Julian allows their relationship to grow and progress almost too smoothly right from the start, only tossing in the occasional realistic bump like "is it too soon to call her or have I waited enough time." There are no huge road blocks preventing the couple from falling fast, which they do. Experiencing the tale from both Kate and Tyler's POV, we explore their fears and hopes, which seem to mesh so well. Yet, their story isn't conflict free as Tyler must make a major decision on the future of his career, and likewise, Kate looks to explore her life-long dream of costume design. Overall, their situations and relationship are handled so beautifully.
One of the best things in the story is the development of the characters' emotions. They build organically and without hinderance. The characters mature and grow in such a way that allows me to be part of their world and brought along for the journey. They both endure an array of emotions, the depths of which I experience right along side of them. This is where the story excels... Emotional grit without contrived baggage or problems.
The only slightly negative thing I can say of this story is that I felt the balance between sex and story was ever so slightly tipped to too much sex. It is amazingly hot, passionate and erotic, and some of the best sex scenes I've ever read. I just wanted a little more on the issues surrounding Tyler and his decision to take over his dad's hotel chain and Kate's decisions over going to NYC. Let me assure you, I did not want less sex, just more of the other! Ms. Julian writes both aspects so well, honestly, I could have continued reading for another couple hundred pages.
There were a few other minor points that felt a little off to me when reading them, but they all occur fairly early in the story, and once the book was in full swing, those little details were far from my mind.
Overall, I just loved No Reservations. Although it truly can be enjoyed as a stand alone story, the first book, By Private Invitation, is one of my favorites. Ms. Julian weaves a tale of sensual exploration and play with a core of sweet love and romance. Other than a few minor perceived inconsistencies that didn't detract (and that may have been cleaned up with final edits), the story flowed smoothly. I highly recommend the Salon Games series to fans of erotic romance.
So I didn't read the first book in this series and honestly plan to go back and read it!
Now for this story, Kate and Tyler were HOT together BUT Kate did annoy me at times, especially in the first half. I felt like her character was bland and I don't mean in the sexual way because sexually she held her own and was damn hot and "bossy" and boy oh boy I loved seeing that side. What I guess annoyed me at first was her wishy washy attitude.
Now, I do enjoy me a great menage especially when the story calls for one or is loosely based around this type of lifestyle and let me tell you, it was off the charts HAWT!!!!! Arghhhhh, omg, it was steamy and honestly I knew it was in there and was dying for it to take place and when it did, I was loving every single second of it!
I guess for me, I really enjoyed this book, it was my first read by this author and yes, I am continuing this series because I WANT Greg's story, I just wished the characters and their storyline felt a little more "real"!!!!!! It felt a bit too "robotic" in some instances and I can't really explain it but I felt the characters themselves were missing some "depth" but all in all a really good story.

My Thoughts
after reading the first installment of this series (by private invitation), i knew what we were going to get into here with the 2nd book, especially since we had a resolution of Kate's relationship at the end of book 1. This one literally picks up off the heels from the first book, where we find that Tyler and Kate are finally going to act on their feelings.
as a quick reminder, Kate is Anabelle's best friend and Tyler is Jared's brother. Anabelle and Jared have found happiness that was a long time coming in book 1 and it's nice to see that their happiness is spilling over to the ones that they love.
So in this 2nd installment, we're diving deeper into Kate and Tyler's story to see what can be done to make both happy. From what we learned of Kate, she had been engaged to a man that she just wasn't in love with anymore. She had a lukewarm sex life with him and because she's so passionate about life, that just wasn't working for her. We saw that passion manifest itself in her occupation (she's a costume designer / wedding dress designer on the side) and has a flair for the kinky/sexy. Tyler on the other hand, we learned that he's battling his own demons of his past - his fiance Mia keeps haunting him ever since she passed away 2 years ago. He had shut himself off emotionally from the potential of finding a soul mate and love that it was a nice surprise that caught him off guard when he met Kate.
We are taken on a roller coaster with these 2 where they are completely consumed with the chemistry that they have, and boy is it hot! but at the same time, they are trying to find themselves in life and figure out what the next path is for them. Kate's being offered all these opportunities all at once that she's been waiting for and doesn't know what to do about them especially since she's just found Tyler, and Tyler on the other hand has to make a choice on keeping his family's legacy alive at the sacrifice of his own happiness, or to be more selfish.
What i love about this story which was nice about book 1 is that we get the involvement of a 3rd player with these couples. In book 1, we had Dane who was Jared's best friend and who dabbled with the couple in a menage, and in this installment, we have Greg to fill that role. the way that Stephanie Julian writes these menages into her stories gives us hope that the series will continue and that we'll get to see into Dane and Greg and everyone else that we've met. (possibly Sabrina too?)
The one downfall that i have to this story though is that i felt like the ending was resolved a bit too quickly and a bit too nice and tidy for my liking. I was caught off guard with how abrupt it felt, even though the ending suited the story. I can only hope that there's another book to follow that we'll be able to see how things progress from here with the folks that we've grown to enjoy reading about.

This review will contain spoilers for By Private Invitation, the first book in the Salon Games series. You could read No Reservations as a stand-alone book, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Stephanie Julian has become one of my favorite authors over the past year, due in no small part to “By Private Invitation,” the first book in her Salon Games series. In that book, we met the handsome successful Golden brothers, born to inherit an international hotel chain but choosing to go it alone so they could create Haven, their dream hotel in Philadelphia. Haven doesn't cater to the very rich in the usual ways, as By Private Invitation showed us in intimate detail. There is a special salon in the most private area of Haven, and it’s in the Salon where sexual fantasies of all kinds can be fulfilled among those fortunate enough to be invited there.
In the first book, we got to see Annabelle Elder and Jared Golden fall in love after meeting at a Haven’s New Year’s Eve party. This second book opens during that same event, just after Annabelle has left the table to dance with Jared. Still sitting at that table is her best friend, Kate Song, who had insisted on getting Annabelle out to celebrate the New Year while leaving her own fiancé back at home. When Jared’s brother, Tyler, spots the beautiful Kate sitting alone, he can’t resist going over to find out why she’s not having a good time at his party. Their mutual attraction is immediate, but Kate is engaged to Arnie, and she tries to make it clear that she’s not available. It’s only months later, after Kate has broken off her engagement and she sees Tyler again at Annabelle’s gallery premiere, that they renew their acquaintance and begin the complicated dance that will either end with them together in love or alone and broken-hearted.
Although No Reservations doesn't have the same sense of intrigue as By Private Invitation, especially with regard to the secrets of the Salon, the relationship between Tyler and Kate is just as riveting and the emotional payoffs just as satisfying. We get more background on why the Golden brothers have broken away from their family’s inherited expectations and how the Salon fits into how they express themselves sexually. Both Kate and Tyler are ambitious in their own career paths, even if it doesn't always appear so to the casual observer. The ways they have to work to balance their budding relationship with their personal goals are what drives the bulk of the story as we wait to see how they can have each other without betraying their individual dreams of success. It’s a wonderful give and take, and the love between them makes all the setbacks and misunderstandings worth suffering through to the gratifying happy ending.
“No Reservations” is an enjoyable follow-up to “By Private Invitation” and I strongly recommend both books in the series. I don’t know if there will be another Salon Games book, but I do know that if there is, I will be reading it.
Kate first meets Tyler when he approaches her at a New Year’s Eve party at Haven, a boutique hotel Tyler owns with his brother Jared, located in Philadelphia. Tyler is a gorgeous, rich playboy and Kate is immediately attracted to him. A few months later, Kate and Tyler meet again and start spending time together. Tyler is into BDSM, but is afraid of scaring Kate off with his desire to dominate her. Kate is interested in trying new things with Tyler, but is uncomfortable giving up control.
Kate is frustrated with her current job and is trying to make a name for herself as a lingerie designer. She spends all her free time coming up with new designs. I liked Kate, she is a strong woman and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
Tyler’s fiancée died two years ago and he is having a hard time moving on and dealing with his grief. He is a warm sensitive guy, who always needs to be in control. I loved the way Tyler treated Kate. It isn’t easy for him to learn to open his heart again.
Kate and Tyler struggle to find a balance between being honest with each other and overcoming their vulnerabilities. They must to learn how to communicate what they want and how they feel.
NO RESERVATIONS is the second book in A Salon Games series. It is an erotic love story with BDSM, ménage and voyeurism. There is an interesting cast of supporting characters in the book that add to the story. In fact, I look forward to reading about Greg and Sabrina in book three. Each book can be read as a standalone, but some of the same characters make appearances in each book. This is a fun read with engaging characters and Tyler and Kate have some sizzling hot sex scenes.

I enjoyed this book. We met our hero and heroine in the first Salon Games Series book, By Private Invitation. I loved how full of life Kate is. She brought something to Tyler's life that he was missing since his fiance died two years ago. It was a sweet, sexy story. Kate is working at a dry cleaners while trying to be a costume designer. Tyler wants her to run the lingerie shop in their new hotel and she can design all the lingerie. The feelings and the emotions between these two go back and forth. There is no denying that they great chemistry together. The sex is hot! It takes a while for the two of them to realize that what they really want is just to be loved. I also loved Tyler's friend, Greg. Sure hoping the next book is his story! ;)
Tyler Golden is still mourning the death of his fiance Mia when he first meets Kate Song, who is engaged. Kate decides that Arnie isn't the man for her and breaks off her engagement. She pursues her dreams of becoming a costume designer while designing lingerie for Tyler's new spa. Kate and Tyler both fight their feelings until finally they can no longer hide from one another.
I have fallen for Stephanie Julian and her characters. I wish Kate was my friend making lingerie and costumes for me! Kate and Tyler's relationship had many many highs and a few lows...I hope the next one is just as good!and just as hot!
This is the second book but can be read as a stand alone.
This is Tyler and Kate's story. Tyler is "damaged" from losing his first love and feels he can't love again. Kate just got out of a relationship that went too far and should have ended months/years ago. Tyler believes he wants another women he can bend to his will. Kate is not that women, but wants to be.....
What I loved is that not only do you get Kate and Tyler's back story but you can feel the growth of the characters as they grow throughout the story. Very well written!!!
Torn between a 3.5 and 4. This book, cover to cover was hot, lots of sex. However I think some of the plot was lost in that. Tyler and Kate's relationship to love was primarily based on sex yes there was some conflict but the plot seemed rushed. At 9.99 I expected more from this .. Shit indie authors at .99 have mesmerized me more.
Love this series I stumbled across; who wouldn't want to get to know the Golden brothers, their friends, and their fabulously luxe hotel and Salon? A quick, steamy, entertaining read.
Loved it. This author is new to me, I read the first and second books in this series in 3 days and she is now on my ever growing list of must read authors.
I fell hard for Tyler practically in his intro in Invite Me In (Salon Games #1). I thought he was a truly great counter to Jared. And the teasing we got of him and Kate in Book 1 was ... *chef's kiss* So the minute I finished Invite, I grabbed this book. I needed to know how Kate & Tyler worked. I needed their story. If Jared was a counter to Tyler, Kate is his completion. Kate takes him from robot to sex machine. And she's not adventurous from the onset, so his ability to bring her out of her purity-based view to one of acceptance and intrigue was actually really beautiful. I enjoyed book 1. But This one.. This one made me drop every commitment I made for the day so I could read start to finish. I like how Stephanie gives us new characters. How she envelopes them into scenes and then sends them on their way. It's the ultimate tease in a book about sensuality and exploration.
This was ok. Tyler & Kate were good characters. Their struggle to determine if a relationship with each other was even feasible seemed genuine. I guess you could get mad at Kate for stringing Arnie along for a few years, but he didn’t seem too broken up about it. It wasn’t an inspiring story, but it was pretty good. Better than most I’ve read lately.
Edit: I should probably say something about the sex. It was hot, steamy goodness. There is an MMF scene, but mostly just MF. But, they were all good.
I thoroughly enjoyed the salon games 1 and 2. Invite me in on Radish and Reserve my nights on Amazon Kindle. 8 hrs straight reading couldn't put my device down! Now for Greg and Dane's story can't wait!
This book was wonderful ! A nice touch with the man being afraid to live again for fear of getting hurt, then enter a young lady to spark his interest again and let the fun start.
The book was fine. The writing was fine. All of it was fine and a nice time waster.
Changing the titles without a “previously published as...” is just mean. I read Reserve My Nights and then bought No Reservations. IT’S THE SAME DAMN BOOK. That is just not fair.
This one was something to read when I couldn't get through my previous book, it's been a long time since I abandoned a book. This was a simple, bdsm romance, short and sweet and wrapped up with a bow. It is a very short read, but I will say I now need to know what happens to Greg...
