Nina Harrington grew up in rural Northumberland, England, within walking distance of both heather moorland, and wonderful wild sandy beaches.

She decided aged eleven, that her dream job was to be a librarian because then she could read all of the books in the public library whenever she wanted!

Many years later she took the bold decision to take a career break from working in the pharmaceutical industry to realise her dream of being a fiction writer. No salary. No contract - but following her heart.

That decision had put over 1.7 million copies of her romance books into the hands of readers in more than 28 countries and translated into 23 languages.

Some of these books have won international awards.

Nina loves to read both suspense and contemporary romance, and is still a total fan-girl when she meets her favourite authors at book-signings and conferences.

Nina has worked in the UK, France and Spain, and enjoyed wonderful holidays in countries such as Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Jamaica, India, Nepal, Mauritius, Reunion and Portugal, but is now settled with her husband in Jane Austen country in the south of England.

When she is not creating stories, which make her readers smile, without the aid of pharmaceuticals, her hobbies are cooking, eating, enjoying good wine, and talking, for which she has had specialist training.

Nina currently writes contemporary crime novels and series romance for the Mills and Boon Modern Tempted/ Harlequin KISS lines and Carina UK, plus non-fiction guides for other authors.

This step-by-step guide gives the prompts to AI in action to have it help build a 1st draft of a cozy mystery — with an example from concept, deciding on sleuth, setting, hook, all the way to a “punny” title and “the end”, along with some final suggestions.

One point the author stresses is that the result isn’t the book, but a 1st draft where “the author” is figuring out what’s happening and what the characters are going to do, saying that it’s “your job to turn it into a book” worth reading. Yet, the example that is used along the way; turns into a pretty good book, so that point is likely lost on readers. Is that why the point is made multiple times?

Where the AI LLM training has evolved (and on the backs of great authors who did all their own work) makes me more wary of what I’m reading, especially self-published books. What am I reading if a book wasn’t originated by someone but rather an LLM’s training of what appeals to readers of cozy mysteries? And what is writing when the act of creativity is turned over to AI?

From the Mind of a Communicator

This book is clear and rubbish-free; it is like a university-level masterclass. I found the prompts so useful I did not even go to ChatGPT.
The prompts in the book were all I needed to get me started, then the writer in me took it from there. I use ChatMUSE rather than ChatGPT.
I found the downloadable PDF very useful, but you need to extract your own outline from the text.
As always, merely brilliant! Nina does nothing less in this entire series.
Another Nina Harrington masterpiece.
Worth every cent. Worth every star.

Lots of cool insights into the genre and very useful prompts to generate and flesh out ideas.

This book will NOT teach how Chat GPT can write the book for you (actually it kinda does, but briefly and it makes it clear that the results are sub par) so if you're looking for an easy way to "write a book" and put your name into the cover, that's not the book for you.

However, if you want to learn how to use chat gpt as a very useful tool,.almost like an assistant, there's a lot to take from this book. Highly recommended. Can't wait to test it's contents in my own writing

Great Insights into the Cozy Mystery Genre...
I wanted to read this book because I have another book by Nina Harrington, and I was interested in what she had to say about how AI could be effectively used to assist in the planning of Cozy Mysteries (really, any book). I was pleased to see that her recommendations really focused on using AI to better organize the author's own creative process to write better books. Interesting take - worth the read for sure!

I bought this book to get a better idea of what AI can do. I al,ready use editing tools, but having more help with plotting would be great. Yes Cl the author shows you how to phrase your queries and build on your responses but she also covers structure, characters and so much more about writing a cozy mystery. I can't wait to apply all the tips to my writing.thanks, Nina!

An absolute scam.

If you follow this advice, you will lose any readers you may have gained -- and potentially open yourself up copyright issues. Run far, far away from the guidance n this book.
