Obsessed with this book? Me? Well, yes!

Misty M. Beller, I'd like to take a peek inside your mind, how do you come up with such wonderful stories time and time again?

Faith's story was my favourite so far, but shhh, don't tell Juniper or Lorelei that! It was the romance and the plot coming together that really made the book for me. We finally see a resolution and oh, it's simply wonderful, I couldn't have imagined it any better myself.

But, I don't want this series to be over!!!! Please give us some more Rosemary and White Horse crumbs, if not a full book, pleaseeeeeeee. A little novella, a tiny one, a few pages, at least that. I NEED THEM OKAY. I'm not ready to let any of these characters go, they brought me so much joy. Sniff sniff.

As always, the writing is excellent, the plot engaging, the characters wonderful, the descriptions incredibly immersive, the faith & historical content on point...what more could you ask for? Another book? Exactly, glad we're on the same page.

I will read anything and everything Misty M. Beller writes, she's got a reader in me for life.

Rocky Mountain Journey by Misty M. Beller - 4 Stars - Book 3 in the Sisters of the Rockies Series

This series has been a series of faith, perseverance and the transformative power of love. I have really enjoyed reading through this series and look forward to more of her books in the future. At its core, this story is descriptive and paints a beautiful picture of the Rockies and the perilous conditions faced by the characters. Following one of the sisters introduced in the series, Faith, pretends to be dressed as a man so she can embark on a journey to find the Peigan Blackfoot woman who once saved her father's life. Along the way, she joins a group of trappers, in hopes they can help her. She meets a man, Grant Allen, who is also searching for his brother and Grant becomes suspicious of Faith right away. The story takes of from here in their journey together.

I really liked Faith's resilience to find this woman and take up this journey. We really see this life of what it would have been like during this time for the characters. Grant was also a really great guy - he is always there to help along the way. The faith content in this one was really nice too.

If you like a good, clean historical romance series, I recommend picking this one up.

Thank you to NetGalley, Austenprose PR Book Tours and Bethany House for a digital copy to honestly read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! I loved how Faith was a strong character who was very brave despite what she faced. She was also very stubborn, which I loved about her. Grant was also caring and I loved how all he wanted was to protect Faith and keep her safe. These two grew to love each other on their journey together, and that just made it even more special. I thought the author did a great job with this one. I was invested in their story. There was a little more violence than what I was expecting, but I didn’t mind it and thought it added to the adventure of the story and the characters growth. I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a great job! I definitely recommend this one if you are looking for a christian historical fiction book.

Rocky Mountain Journey is a captivating tale of adventure and romance that will leave readers breathless and longing for more. With its rich historical detail and timeless themes of love and redemption, this book is a must-read for fans of Christian fiction and frontier romance alike.

In this Misty M. Beller's heart-pounding adventure, readers are whisked away to the untamed wilderness of the Rocky Mountains, where danger lurks at every turn and the bonds of family and faith are put to the ultimate test.

Masquerading as a man, Faith Collins embarks on a perilous quest to find the Peigan Blackfoot woman who once saved her father's life. Along the way, she joins forces with a group of trappers, hoping they can lead her to her destination. But keeping her true identity hidden proves to be a challenge, especially when Grant Allen, searching for his lost brother, becomes suspicious of the mysterious woman in their midst.

As Faith and Grant navigate the rugged terrain of the Rockies, they soon realize that their journey is not just about finding lost loved ones—it's about discovering the power of faith, love, and sacrifice in the face of adversity.

Beller's narrative mastery shines brilliantly in Rocky Mountain Journey, crafting a riveting saga of adventure, romance, and reliance on God’s providence. The determined spirit of Faith and Grant's unwavering compassion resonate deeply, immersing readers in their pulse-pounding pursuit of truth and redemption.

Throughout the narrative, the theme of God's providence and guidance is flawlessly interwoven, casting a luminous thread of solace and inspiration amidst the rugged wilderness. From the majestic landscapes to the pulse-quickening action sequences, this novel guarantees to captivate readers, holding them enraptured until the final page is turned.

I was blessed to receive an eARC of Rocky Mountain Journey from Celebrate Lit Publicity Group, the author, publisher, and NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing style, the pacing, and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

A super sweet mountain read, and my favorite of the series! Once again, the author captured the awe-inspiring grandeur and rich history of the Rockies and western frontier so well. If you're a mountain/frontier girl, but can't make a trip right now like me, these books come pretty close!
Faith is such a fitting name for the Collins sister in this story. She had such fierce tenacity, loyalty, and love for her family and such great devotion to fulfilling her belated Papa's wishes. Then, the redemption scene towards the end?! How Grant and Faith both encouraged each other to let God's love in thoughout was awesome, but that bold and true proclamation of the Gospel by Faith, especially in the middle of a life or death situation, was everything.
With real and resonant themes of sacrifice and the greatest Sacrifice this world has ever known, I loved this breathtaking, immersive conclusion to the series; and I really hope we get Rosie's story as well! 👀❤🏞

"I think if your heart is open... if you ask Him, God will be there. He’ll answer you. Every time. It might not be in ways you expect, but it will be Him answering.”

The cover of this book drew me to read it, as well as the ongoing search for Steps Right from the previous two books. And honestly, all the covers in this series have been so colorful and look great together on your shelves!

I found Faith to be one of the more relatable sisters in her group. I could relate to how she felt restless and wasn’t always sure of what God would have her do next.

Her banter with Grant was funny. They seemed to have opposite personalities like fire and ice, but got along well with each other.

I liked the wilderness setting and time period this book is placed in as well, which made it a unique read compared with others I finished lately that are current-day and World War II reads.

Negative Content

Not much here except for a mention of a father reading Greek mythology to his kids. Some people are ok with this, but many of these tales in the original text were not kid-friendly or appropriate for anyone to be reading really, so I wouldn’t recommend doing that.

This was another great read that I truly enjoyed. Kudos to the author on a fine series!

I received a complimentary paperback to review from Bethany House Publishers through Interviews & Reviews. I was not required to write a positive review and the thoughts above are my own.

I’ve been waiting for Faith’s story since we first met the Collins sisters, because I knew there were so many layers to her. And I was right. Her will is strong but her heart is still vulnerable, and I thought Misty M. Beller did a wonderful job of showing this contrast and making Faith a very relatable character in the process. The story especially spoke to me in the tender reminders that our own abilities and the illusion of control can only take us so far, that ‘letting go and letting God’ is a sign of strength, not weakness. The line “Not you but Me” and the scene it’s part of will linger with me for a while, almost like a warm embrace from God in a season where I wish I could speed up a timetable or fix something on my own – a gentle reassurance that it’s not up to me but to the One who holds the world in His hands.

Then there’s Grant who is also a relatable dichotomy of strong and vulnerable. While Faith’s main takeaway is to learn to trust God personally, Grant needs to learn that he is wholly loved and wholly valued by that same personal God, just for being who he is – not for anything he can do. And just like Faith is searching for Steps Right (the ongoing story arc from book one to three), Grant too is searching for someone – his younger brother from whom he was separated as a child. Right from their ‘meet-cute’ (which is delightfully unique and sets the tone for their journey throughout this book), I loved Grant and Faith together and my love for them only got stronger as the story progressed. Even though their personal and faith struggles are so similar, their differences nonetheless complement one another quite well and their increasingly romantic feelings (and the subsequent stolen kisses) are sweet and swoony! Which, as we all know, is a winning combination for me.

Bottom Line: Rocky Mountain Journey by Misty M. Beller is full of adventure, discoveries, faith, hope, and love, all wrapped up in an entertaining story that touches your heart too. Faith and Grant are layered characters who come alive under Beller’s talented pen, and I so enjoyed my time with them. I also loved seeing characters from Calm in the Mountain Storm, reuniting with characters I’ve loved during this entire Sisters of the Rockies series, and tying up several character arcs we’ve followed across all three books too. I am hopeful that maybe (please, please, please) we’ll get a novella or some sort of followup to Rosemary & White Horse’s relationship, but even if we never do the author gives us enough hints to let us fill in the blanks on our own. But I love White Horse so much – their honorary brother – and I want all the details of his happily-ever-after too! Misty M. Beller is an auto-read for me, every single time, and Rocky Mountain Journey proves why. Looking forward to anything/everything she writes next!

This was my first book by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lovely story of faith, perseverance, hope, loyalty, and the life-changing power of love.

Faith Collins made a promise to her father as he was dying to return a necklace to the Peigan Blackfoot woman who saved his life several years ago.

She’s determined to keep her promise and not let anything stand in her way, so when her sisters are unable to help with the quest, she takes off on her own.

Faith disguises herself as a man to join a group of trappers traveling to the area where the woman is living. With the group is Grant Allen, who’s also searching for someone—his brother he was separated from at the death of their parents. Grant soon discovers Faith’s real identity, but understands the importance of her mission, so doesn’t reveal who she is, but he’s determined to help and protect her at all cost.

Along the way they face danger and mishaps, which kept me turning the pages. So did the sweet romance that grew between these two wonderful characters.

Things I loved:
Strong FMC
Protective MMC
Adventure & intrigue
Faith elements
Beautiful setting
Engaging storytelling
HEA

This is book three in the Sisters Of The Rockies series and can be read as a standalone, but I really want to know more about the other characters now.

The Collins sisters adventures continue in this third installment of the Sisters of the Rockies series, set in the late 1830's American frontier. The story centers around Faith, the youngest of the four sisters. She is impatient to complete the task given by their father. It was his final wish that they find Steps Right, the native Indian woman who save this life many years ago. But she has seemingly disappeared in the wilderness, a world filled with trappers and frontiersmen.

I loved Faith's grit and determination, her ability to face the unexpected challenges that come her way. Her journey brings adventure and danger. But also, an unexpected friendship with Grant, a young man who is searching for his brother. As they join forces, they each find this is also a journey of faith.

Misty Beller is a gifted storyteller, with beautiful prose that brings the American frontier to life within the pages of her stories. With an expertly paced plot and a wonderful cast of characters, readers of clean historical romance will find this a must read.

While it is recommended that the books in this series are read in order, readers will find that the author has woven details of the overarching plot of the series into this book so that they are able to enjoy each as a standalone.

She'll take the search into her own hands...

I have really gotten into the Sisters Of The Rockies series as it has progressed across the three books. I've enjoyed the differences between each sister's story and the familiar similarities that come with a good Misty M. Beller book. And Rocky Mountain Journey IS a good book.

Rocky Mountain Journey has everything that I've come to like about Misty M. Beller's fiction. From a simple cast of characters to a dramatic landscape setting to a good dash of mystery and intrigue to balance out the romance.

And speaking of mystery, the search for Steps Right has intrigued me from the start. I've been greatly anticipating finally getting those answers and finding out more about her story in general. In this final Sisters Of The Rockies novel I did get those answers, well, most of them anyway, and I felt satisfied with the way that search turned out.

The one and only downside to Rocky Mountain Journey is that now that the Sisters Of The Rockies series has concluded, I have to say goodbye to the characters. The upside is that it leaves me looking forward to more from Misty M. Beller...

Rocky Mountain Journey was such a nice conclusion to the Sisters of the Rockies series. I really enjoyed the way Faith and Grant connected. Grant showed himself as trustworthy to Faith when he realized that she was the woman he had met at the waterfall, but was now disguised as a man, and he kept her secret for her.

They grew to have a friendship and trust for each other. It seemed that they were both quite attuned to what the other person needed. It was sweet that they fell for each other, even while Grant was determined never to give his heart away again.

There was a gentle faith message woven into the storyline and the author wrapped up a few of the overarching details of the series. You could probably jump in and enjoy reading this story on its own, but it was fun to read each novel and really get to know and check up on the characters with each new story.

Wow! I'd give this book more than 5 stars if I could! The Collins sisters' story continues in this third book. There's intrigue, a mystery, and a kidnapping. There's also the joy of finding someone who had a huge impact on the sisters, a reunion of brothers and the sweetest love story!

If you're familiar with the characters from the previous books, you'll know that they're wonderful! An awesome addition is Grant. He's 😍! Despite the fact that he's on his own journey, he selflessly helps others. His compassion and bravery are exemplary! Steps Right is a woman of strength and faith! I also enjoyed the way that Faith grew spiritually. Her unwavering belief in God helped soften Grant's heart.

The best parts of the book for me were when the characters realized that they could trust God! Misty Beller always has faith components in her books, and I find them inspiring and encouraging! I eagerly look forward to reading the next book that she writes!

You will never be disappointed when you pick up a book by this author and this is no exception. I have loved getting to know these sisters in this series and I don’t like that this is the end of the series as I want more please. The author is so subtle but powerful in the way she weaves faith into the story that it makes an impressive impact. I love Faith has her story and even though she is the youngest she has a tenacity and grit that makes you want to know her better. I was excited to see if they finally find Steps Right and fulfill their father’s last wish. Full of intrigue and keeps you guessing as a lot is going on in this story to keep your attention. Wonderful characters and storytelling that makes you settle in and feel like you are a part of the story. Add this to your TBR pile quickly.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN JOURNEY is the third book in the Sisters of the Rockies Series from historical fiction author, Misty M. Beller. This was another great story which fits perfectly with the series. I would say you can read this as a stand alone, but reading the series in order gives you a chance to really get to know the characters. Faith was fun to read about, she was so determined and faced some surprises along the way! Historical Fiction fans will probably love this one!

Many thanks to Bethany House Publishers and Misty M. Beller for my gifted copy.

Adventure, danger, and faith are perfectly combined in this fantastic journey.
Faith’s search for Steps Right was quite the challenge but seeing her relationship with God grow was inspiring.
Grant’s search for Will is fraught with danger as a mysterious person causes him a few trials. What a beautiful picture we see in Grant opening himself to God too!
How fun to spend more time with White Horse, and to see the Collins sisters, their husbands, and trapper friends.
Favorite lines: “…if you ask Him, God will be there. He’ll answer you. Every time. It might not be in ways you expect, but it will be Him answering.”

"Rocky Mountain Journey" by Misty M. Beller is the third and final book of the series. I really enjoyed this series and want to read more about these characters. The ending for the book and the series is just GREAT! This story has both happy and not so happy ever after endings for the characters. I really recommend reading this series in the order they were written. Like always this author share Christian principles without being preachy. I really think readers that don't want to read Christian fiction would enjoy her books. If you have read any of her books I think you should give this series and her other books a try.

Misty M Beller always writes novels with Biblical truth that I know I’ll enjoy. This installment focuses on Faith and her quest to find Steps Right. Faith definitely has the attitude of the youngest child, sometimes how she acts is juvenile, but I enjoyed her transformation throughout the book. I loved seeing more of White Horse and finally getting some answers to questions I’ve had throughout this series. My only wish is that we had a book about Rosie too!!

This is the third book in the series. This time it’s about the third sister Faith! I love Faith she is such a good getter. She wants to get the task their deceased father gave them accomplished so she decides to go off on her own, with a group of trappers, disguised as a man. Grant, who is in search of his younger brother, is also with this same group of trappers. He meets Faith, dressed as a man, but soon figures out she is a woman and helps her keep her cover and complete her task. I loved both Faith and Grant. I loved how much Grant took care of her and helped her. I also loved the strong Christian faith elements throughout the story as the characters themselves struggle with it at times. Overall, a great story an d I definitely recommend! Can’t wait for book 4!

I love the characters, Faith’s determination and spunk endeared me to her. With the long journey she embarks on there is a romance that grows drawing the reader into the story all the while keeping you entertained by the quest she is on. Danger meets her at every turn keeping you on the edge of your seat. In the meanwhile, God is being woven into the story in such a beautiful way that it touches the heart and inspires the reader. God, family, and love bring this story to an end that kept me only wanting more!

You are loved and valued by God.

Grant’s and Faith’s journeys teach them that God does answer prayer and works in every detail of life. He really cares for His children. Throughout the pages, there is danger, reunions, doubts, and peace. You will meet old friends, gain new friends and family, and solve a long hidden mystery. Grant and Faith’s romance is gentle and slow; it isn’t the main focus but grows as the characters grow.

Definitely a story I would revisit! I received a complimentary copy and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.

"Rocky Mountain Journey" is a beautifully-written book from author Misty M. Beller! This is book 3 in the "Sisters of the Rockies" series. This book follows Faith's story! The historical setting was described very well! The author has done great work researching and providing details that make the story feel vivid and the characters feel three-dimensional and like real people. The story is enthralling! I could not stop reading! I just had to see what would happen next in this book. The speed of the plot is great, the writing style is beautiful, the story feels original and new, and the themes explored including: family, friendship, and love are expressed very well! This is another must read from author Misty M. Beller! This book is mysterious, enthralling, sweet, and fun! I really enjoyed the romance in this book, too. I very highly recommend this book and series! Especially if you enjoy historical fiction and historical romance. 5 stars!

Thank you very much to the author Misty M. Beller, AustenprosePR, and Bethany House for the wonderful opportunity of being a part of this book tour and for providing me with physical and digital copies to read and review honestly.

Beautiful Historical Romance full of endearing characters, family bonds, adventure, danger and inspirational vibes!
I really loved Faith’s story! I like that each sister has their own unique story and that each one has a genuine personality that makes her lovable and admirable in different ways!
Faith has promised her father on his deathbed that she will make sure that the beads necklace will arrive safely to Steps Right, the selfless Peigan Blackfoot woman who once saved his life and gave him this family heirloom. That’s the main reason the four Collins sisters left their home to travel west, where they started up a farm in Wyoming Territory. But a couple of years have passed, two of her sisters are married and expecting babies, and she knows the fulfillment of the promise to their father is no longer a priority, so she decides to travel in an adventure of her own, first traveling with a missionary family, then disguising herself as a man to join a group of trappers who are heading toward where she thinks Steps Right might be. Thankfully, one of the men discovers her disguises and becomes her protector. Grant Allen is searching for his younger brother from whom he was separated when they were still young. He regrets haven’t searched for him until now, but he’s determined to find him. That is, until he discovers Frank is really Faith, a beautiful woman whom he saved recently from falling into a waterfall. He wants to help her find the woman she’s searching for, but when their paths must separate, will he continue on his own or sacrifice his search of his brother to protect this admirable woman he can’t stop thinking about?
Ms. Beller’s writings always enchant me! There are such vivid descriptions of the beautiful and wild landscape. I love learning the dangers and adventures men and women in that era faced, living sometimes in the elements, surviving by farming, trapping, etc. You can almost breathe the majestic mountain landscape. I also love her characters: I love the Collins sisters and the strong bonds they share being orphaned at a young age. I love how they care for each other and how they support each other and their dreams. I feel part of their family. Faith’s character is strongminded, brave, and with a heart of gold. She’s the sunshine, always bringing the good side of things and caring for other’s wellbeing. Grant is the perfect hero for her. He’s protective of her, he basks in her light. He has suffered in his life, so he’s vulnerable, afraid to trust, especially God. Faith’s faith isn’t so strong at the time, questioning the passing of her parents, but I loved how they both help each other strengthen their faith. By trying to trust God and His unique ways. Their romance is really sweet and endearing. The side characters are part of the family: the sisters, White Horse and Right Steps. There is much wisdom to be learned from their journeys. And I love how the plot has danger and adventure that captivates you. All in all, a wonderful and very inspiring historical Romance! Can’t wait for Rosie’s story to come out soon!

Title: Rocky Mountain Journey
Author: Misty M. Beller
Narrated by: Pilar Witherspoon
Publisher: Recorded Books
Length: Approximately 7 hours and 11 minutes
Source: Audiobook purchased from Amazon.com. Thank you to Bethany House Fiction for the physical copy of the novel as part of the Austenprose PR Book Tour.

Where are you at with your summer reading goals? I am finding myself slightly behind and I estimated I would get a lot more reading completed in June than I did due to my oldest son’s graduation open house. Hopefully I will get my summer themed books next month!

In 1839, Faith Collins journeys through the Rocky Mountains in search of Steps Right, a Piegan Blackfoot woman who once saved her father’s life in order to fulfill her father’s dying wish. She disguises herself as a man in order to travel with a group of trappers. Grant Allen, a man working with the band of trappers as he looks for his long-lost brother, quickly realizes that Faith is a woman. Together they help each other fulfill their quests. Will they both find who they are looking for?

My thoughts on this novel:

• I always love books that involve a journey. I loved Faith and Grants journey into the Rocky Mountains in search of missing loved ones.

• This book also had adventure that includes a kidnapping and rescue.

• This novel included a good side plot on how Grant had lost his faith and how he works to get his faith back throughout the novel.

• The romance between Grant and Faith was sweet and clean.

• I love the cover of this book; it looks so beautiful and makes me want to visit the Rocky Mountains as soon as possible. The story had great description of the area as well.

• I will admit that I was hoping for more story on trapping in the wild, but Faith and Grant leave the trappers early in the novel.

• I liked that Grant figured out early on that Faith was a woman disguised as a man. I always find it strange when a love story has the female disguised for way too long and it makes it hard for me to see them together as a couple.

• This is the third novel in the Sisters of the Rockies series. It worked fine as a stand alone novel, but I think I would have gotten more out of it if I would have had the back story of the first two novels. In particular, I would have understood the background characters of Faith’s family much better. I definitely need to go back to read them.

• Once again, with life being so busy, I have found that listening to the audiobook is the best way for me to read this novel. It was a good audiobook and I enjoyed Pilar Witherspoon as the narrator.

• An excerpt was included at the end for a new novel, A Warrior’s Heart, which is the start of a new series. It pulled me in and looks like a great new series.

Overall, Rocky Mountain Journey was a good historical romance and journey through adventure, love, and faith.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN JOURNEY is a story of a woman who desires to fulfill her deathbed promise to her father, even if it means doing it on her own, and a man who is also trying to fulfill a promise to his brother. It's about family, friendship, faith and romance as these characters face danger. Fans of the author and genre should enjoy this concluding story in the series.

It was fun to step back into this family of sisters and the rugged west as the baby of the family, Faith, tries to fulfill her promise to return a necklace to the woman who saved her father's life a couple of decades earlier. You don't have to have read the previous books to read this one, but it definitely enhanced the story since it helps to know who the characters all are and the previous journeys, struggles, and romances. I felt like the author did such a great job in showing the dynamics of these sisters, particularly how Faith felt about being told what to do and not really allowed to make her own choices and be her own person. She gets to come into her own in this story.

I loved the first part of this story as Faith works through her emotions and choices and starts off on her journey. There are some pretty humorous moments that start off a companionship of sorts and then leads to a deeper relationship and romance as the story progresses. I liked the characters separately as well as Faith and Grant together. The danger begins to escalate towards the end of the story with some intense moments. Everything ends sweetly, as you'd expect, with family, faith and love being at the center of this story.

I also had several issues with the story. There were places that dragged and where there were internal thoughts and dialogue that didn't hold my interest. The religious element was really strong in this novel. I tend to struggle with books where an individual is easily converted or have these great faith experiences because unless they're handled really well, they just come off as forced, unrealistic, and not genuine or organic. This felt like the case to me in this story and since that was most of the second half it didn't really work for me. I also had some issues with some of the action and the villains. The way the villains did things and how the action unfolded didn't work for me. It was like the author didn't visualize what her words were saying. I think the action scenes needed to be mapped or choregraphed out so that they worked. Then ending was a bit too overly sweet and tied up too prettily for me too.

In the end, was it what I wished for? This was a mixed read for me. I enjoyed the first part and not as much the second. However, for readers who mainly only read Christian historical romance and love this author, they should enjoy this story.

Content: Some violence, including some people killed in self-defense.
Source: I received a complimentary copy through Celebrate Lit, which did not require a positive review. All opinions are my own.

As expected, this addition to the series is beautifully written and descriptive.

The journey to find Steps Right, a Native American woman who saved the father of four sisters decades ago continues. Except, at this point in the story, the search has halted because of many unexpected circumstances, including 2 sisters marrying, one giving birth, and another now pregnant. Littlest sister Faith is desperate to find her father’s savior. She after all, would not be alive if not for Steps Right. Because Steps Right saved her father, he was able to return to his wife, and then Faith was born shortly afterward.

I spent most of the book, unfortunately, not liking Faith. Through the first installments in the series, we see only a little of Faith’s character development, but overall, to me, she seemed so sweet, so quiet, so generous and caring and willing to do whatever needed to be done for her family she loved so much. That is not the Faith I found in this story.

If you don’t like spoilers, this is where you should stop reading. I have tried to minimize MOST of the spoilers though and only include ones that are already in the book's public description. But you have been warned. Ss here goes:

I totally get that it was during an era where life was very different, and most people were very, very accustomed to hard work. But when Faith decided, on a rather impulsive whim, to go in search of Steps Right ALONE – leaving her oldest sister to care for two pregnant women and a toddler, and manage a very newly established ranch, that seemed a lot unfair.

If this had only been a story about her dressing up in disguise, and none of the other lying had taken place beforehand, and there was a lot of lying, which I really did not feel fit her character's personality at ALL.... I’d have been much less irritated and enjoyed the story so much more.

Enter Grant: A much, much more likeable character. I enjoyed his side of the story, and I’m relieved they didn’t keep up the pretending-to-be-a-guy charade for very long. All in all, the wrap up near the end was sweet, but it took me 3/4 of reading through this story to care about the outcome.

Regardless of this read through, I am excited about the fourth book which hopefully will enlighten us about Rosie and White Horse, which I anticipate to be a great story.

Thank you to the publisher and author for allowing me to read an advanced copy.

Rocky Mountain Journey
Sisters of the Rockies #3
By Misty M. Beller
Narrated by Pilar Witherspoon

Faith Collins is tired of her older sisters putting the search for Steps Right off until the time is right. But Faith can't keep putting off her father's dying request. She has to return the beaded necklace to the woman who saved her father's life all those years ago. Faith has a plan to search for Steps Right now rather than at some unknown future time.

Grant Allen has been searching for his younger brother, Will. Years ago, they were separated when their parents died, but he finally has a place to look. Even better, a group of trappers is willing to help him get where he needs to go in exchange for some work on the way. When Grant notices someone who seems familiar, he's not sure who it is or even where he saw the person before, not until they are well on their way. But when he does, he knows he needs to protect Faith.

As Grant and Faith join together in their searches to fulfill promises they made, they find danger following them. The question is who is following them and why. Are they both the target? Or just one of them?

This is the third and final book in the Sisters of the Rockies series, which follows the Collins sisters, who moved from Virginia to the Rockies in the hopes of fulfilling their promise to fulfill their father's dying wish. In my opinion, this book reads better if one has read the previous books in the series, not that you can't enjoy it without reading them.

In addition to reading this book, I enjoyed it as an audiobook. Pilar Witherspoon's narration is well presented and brings the story out in an easy-to-follow reading. The story has good pacing, and the characters are distinguishable in her telling. No matter how you enjoy this book, it makes a great weekend read or weekday commute listen. I highly recommend it to fans of historical fiction.

I was provided a complimentary print copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

In Rocky Mountain Journey by Misty M. Beller, Faith Collins is determined to fulfill her father’s dying request to return a string of precious beads to Steps Right, a Peigan Blackfoot woman who saved his life. Faith, as the youngest, is the most adventurous and determined of all her sisters. That determination finds her donning a disguise as a man and joining a group of trappers whose path promises to take her to a string of waterfalls where Steps Right was last seen.

Grant Allen joins the same group of trappers in the search for his younger brother, Will. The two were separated years ago, but Grant vowed to unite them and has come out west to accomplish his goal.

A few days after the expedition begins, Grant recognizes Faith as the young woman he’d saved from falling into a waterfall days before their journey began. He vows to keep her secret, which he does, but it becomes increasingly difficult until they decide to leave the trappers and strike out on their own to continue their searches.

Through dangers posed by the wilds of nature and unfriendly foes on their trail, Faith and Grant grow closer, a mutual attraction developing between them. In spite of the attraction, however, their individual searches pull them apart at a time when it seems they need each other most. Both facing extreme danger, they both draw on their newfound faith in the Lord they’d deemed too distant to count on—until now.

The story reads effortlessly, easily pulling the reader deep into the majestic mountains and country of the West, where strong characters tame the land and their own fears through determination, strength, and love. Misty M. Beller’s Rocky Mountain Journey is a beautiful saga powerfully depicting the central bonds of love, faith, and family set against the indomitable backdrop of the majestic American West.

Rocky Mountain Journey is an experiential treat, from its unstoppable characters to the sheer grandeur of its vivid descriptions. ~ Lindy for Novels Alive

"The great God knows where they are. We ask Him to show us."

Life is indeed a journey, and for the past couple of years Faith Collins and her three sisters have shouldered a quest that their father left them to take; "Find Steps Right (a Peigan Blackfoot woman who had once saved his life) and return the beads (a string of beautiful crystal blue beads) to her". It had been his dying wish and Faith was determined that they would fulfill it.

Gathering evidence from Steps Right's son White Horse as to where his mother might have gone, Faith takes a bold step forward by finding a way to begin the ongoing search on her own. Unbeknownst to her sisters, she slips away from mutual friends, poses as a young cowboy and crosses paths with Grant Allen for the second time. . . . the first being while she was hanging precariously off the side of a waterfall.

Fans of this series will love how nicely all of the loose details surrounding the Collins' sisters journey west finally fit together, but not without peril, especially for Faith. Grant is an unexpected blessing, although he is fighting deep internal battles regarding self-worth ("He already thinks you're worth everything, Worth His love, Worth His son dying . . . "), while Faith is challenged to experience what it really means to depend on someone other than herself; "Not you but Me".

Find a comfortable spot where you can enjoy every mile of this wonderful "Rocky Mountain Journey".

I received a copy of this book from the publisher through Interviews and Reviews. The opinions stated above are entirely my own.

I truly LOVE Christian Historical Romance books. Misty M. Beller is one of my favorite authors for this genre. Rocky Mountain Journey is Book 3 in the series, Sisters of the Rockies. I have been reading this series since the first book and I am excited that Book 3 is out now!

This is Faith and Grant's story. Faith is the youngest of the 4 Collins Sisters. Faith is determined to honor her father's wishes and find the woman who at one time saved her Father's life. She goes "undercover" as a man to do so and travels with some Trappers in the Mountains. The Trappers supposedly know where this woman is hiding. Faith meets Grant Allen along her journey. Grant is searching for his brother who is believed to be in the same area and has also joined the same group of Trappers that Faith has. Grant is shocked to discover that there is a woman in the midst of the Trappers group. He wants to figure out what she is doing in the group, but he also wants to help her. WOW, just WOW! I totally LOVED this storyline and how Faith and Grant connected. The concern and care that Grant has for Faith and how they formed a friendship. The friendship became something more and it was so sweet I really felt like I was back in time to the late 1830's as I was reading this book! . The book is filled with Faith, LOVE, and so many adventures. I am sad that this is the final book in this series, I really LOVED this series! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction! FANTASTIC BOOK!

‘Rocky Mountain Journey’ is a fantastic conclusion to the ‘Sisters of the Rockies’ trilogy. I have read the first book, but not the second. I didn’t feel like I was confused at any point, but I would recommend reading them in order to fully experience the series as intended. I absolutely loved the sneak peek of Elsie and Goes Ahead from a previous series.
Faith and Grant meet while they’re both trying to find different people. Faith didn’t feel like her sisters were going to keep their promise to their father, so she disguises herself as a boy to join up with a trapping group. I really loved her determination to see this through, even if it was a little reckless for a single woman to set off with a group of strangers.
Grant is searching for his brother, Will, and quickly realizes the young boy with their group is actually a woman. He promised himself that he would keep her safe.
If you’ve read a Misty M. Beller book before, you know they’re full of trials and adventure. ‘Rocky Mountain Journey’ is full of obstacles Will and Faith have to overcome before they get their happily ever after. The romance was so sweet. I loved every minute of Grant and Faith’s journey together. I loved how they helped each other learn to put their trust in God and rely on Him to supply what they need.

Thank you @mistymbeller @bethanyhousefiction and @austenprose for my @netgalley copy of the book. (I did purchase a physical copy with my own money).
