This trip to Aspen was supposed to be my honeymoon.
But instead, my fiancé left me for his ex, and then I crashed my snowmobile in the mountains, woke up in a mountain monster's cabin, and am stuck here for three days while we wait out this blizzard.
This isn't how this trip was supposed to go, but maybe this is better...
Emmy is your average heartbroken woman; she got left by her fiance for his ex but worry not because his dick wasn't even that good. Realistically, she didn't lose much in this transaction. A fiance that doesn't show love and can't get you off, what kind of forever is that? She dodged a bullet!
The spice scenes are great, and the inner monologue helps the plot. Emmy soon realises there is no point fighting the naughty thoughts that overwhelm her, giving way to three days of sexual bliss.
When the time comes for her to leave, what does she have waiting for her? Compared to the hunk of a man waiting with his forked tongue and double 🍆🍆, NOTHING.
I read this book 100% for the Erotica and I was not disappointed, the sex scenes are as vanilla as you can get with two dicks. 😉
As much as I really enjoy the monster romance genre, especially Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barabraians, Snowed in with the Mountain Monster just didn't do it for me. It didn't live up to my expectations. I'm not sure if it's because of its length or another aspect, but I didn't gel with this book as much as I originally thought I would. I found the plot to be lacking and the characters were not as compelling as I had hoped. The writing style also felt lacking, with dialogue that often fell flat and descriptions that didn't fully immerse me in the story. Additionally, the romance between the main characters felt forced and lacked the emotional depth that I have come to expect from the genre. Overall, Snowed in with the Mountain Monster left me disappointed and searching for a more gripping monster romance novel to fulfill my cravings.
"As far as I know, Harrish only has one tongue, but it feels like he has ten with the way he’s lapping at me like a starving man."
I'm gonna be honest here, monster romance/erotica wasn't my favourite thing at all when it first started appearing as a sub genre in adult romance world; but since it saturated the market I guess you can say I grew an "acquired taste" for it out of necessity...
BUT THIS IS THE first 'monster romance ' I've read that I felt I would read a whole series of it were possible, and I'm wishing the author could write so much more of the book! It's the first time the 'monster thing' wasn't something I had to keep pushing to the back of my mind while in the middle of reading, to enjoy the story fully! So in my book that says a lot!
I was really confused by the ending. The one monster had a sudden change of heart and was like no more killing and then BAM. It was so sudden and I feel like I had whiplash. This book was okay. My monster romance book groups recommended it a lot so I checked it out. But it was meh. Its a quick read tho, so if you want a quick book, give it a try.
This is the second book by Winter Randall that I've read (I immediately picked this one up after I finished the other one--sugar daddy minotaur or something like that). This is another well-written, quick, easy, steamy monster romance that has me wanting to book a winter vacation and find my own monster man haha. Loved it!
A very quick monster read. It checked some spice boxes while portraying cute instalove romance. If this had been a full length novel, or at least been over 100 pages, I would gobble this UP! I'm interested in the species on the mountain, and would be open to more stories in the future if Winter decides to go that route!
Can I picture what Harrish looks like? No, but that's on my non-visual brain. Did I find him to be an absolute sweetie pie? Yes. Do I love it when there's a "You have 2 🍆s?" Met with "Do humans not have 2?" ? Also, yes.
3.5 // I enjoy Winter Randall novellas. Was the ending a bit rushed and convenient? Yes. But I also give more grace to novellas. Do I wish this had been a hundred pages instead of fifty? Also yes. It was cozy and sweet and I found myself wanting a little more of them.
Monster smut novellas at their best. What a fantastic novella of a race called Moori. They were hunted years ago by humans so have a vendetta yet one finds an injured human and rescues her and their desire grows while snowed in.
I liked Harrish more than Emmy. It’s a very short story and filled pretty much with sex. If there was more background on Harrish and Emmy. There's a little bit of information on them but more would have been nice.
Quick read. Good foundation if you want to read into it about being different from humans but not wanting hatred anymore for the differences. Good story about connection and trust between harrish and Emmy. Quick read.
50 pages wasn't enough for this story and the reason I did 3 stars. This book could have been more if it had been longer. But it was a great short read!
I actually liked the premise of this. If it had been a bit longer with more backstory in history between the two species I would eat this shit up as a book series 😂
