Shelley, Dana, and Faith are sure that winter at Canby Hall is going to be the pits -- until a film crew arrives to shoot a movie right on campus! For Shelley, this could be a dream come true. For Dana, it will mean unexpected romance with a young production assistant. For Faith, it's a chance to shoot some film of her own. But what begins as fun soon pits the girls against one another in the competition surrounding the movie. Will they ever be best friends again?
"Emily Chase" was the pen-name used by a number of authors who contributed to Scholastic's Girls of Canby Hall series, about a group of girls living at a New England boarding school. Amongst these contributors was romance novelist Julie Garwood.
This is the tenth book in the series with Dana (a big city girl), Shelley (a farm girl), and Faith (an excellent photographer.) A movie is going to be partially filmed on the campus and this has everyone astir. Shelley, who wants to be an actress, falls in with Pamela who gives her lots of advice.
Right.
Dana falls for a guy on the technical crew and ends up in the movie which causes Shelley no end of jealously. Dana and Shelley both end up having trouble with their boyfriends because of the movie. Pamela commits theft but, for some reason, escapes punishment. (I think she should have been expelled from the school for her theft.)
