Silver Santa is a captivating tale of love's complexities at a snowed-in Christmas lodge. The story is filled with warm family moments, unexpected turns and a nosy five-year-old who constantly interrupts the couple. Prequel to Silver Fox.
USA Today Bestselling Author Lacey Silks writes seat-gripping romantic suspense with heat and spice. She’s married to most of her characters and tortures her husband with quirky book roles. Lacey’s two kids and her dog Kygo fill her time with homework questions and sweet licks all over her face (the dog not the kids).
When she’s not writing seat-gripping and heart-throbbing stories, Lacey enjoys camping and skiing with her family. She’s an early bird by nature and drinks coffee instead of water, because that’s how her busy billionaire heroes do it.
Lacey’s flawed and relatable characters fill the pages with laughter, snark and tears. She judges men by the size of their feet, loves sexy lingerie, and can’t live without her “boost juice”: coffee.
A quick read but very disappointing. I am not a fan of cliffhangers and had I I own I wouldn't have purchased. I didn't like the fact James made it clear he was single to Laura and yet it ended with his very pregnant ex arriving on Xmas day. Several parts didn't ring true like the brother cancelling a flight, an avalanche yet Tara the ex arrived. It then skipped 9months to a pregnant Laura. As their had been an avalanche she misbehave left the ski resort without seeing James so did they talk about the pregnant ex whom she heard say It was his baby, did he know the ex was pregnant? If not how didn't he ? Left with so many unanswered questions. I won't be purchasing more in the series as I don't know how many would be cliffhangers.
Gotta love some Silver! Fox/James is dedicated to bachelorhood but lovely Laura has started him thinking. When Laura is a nutcracker for the family gathering, the pull is intense. Laura fits right in with the family and James is smitten. Such lovely Christmas festivities and ...Laura is so taken with Kenzi.
Laura does a runner when his ex makes an appearance.
This was supposed to be a 4-star rating because this book entertained me. I mean, it's a good book, okay-ish writing, and a fast read especially after I DNF-ed a book. BUT I hated how it ended with a cliffhanger. And yes, I immediately bought the next book (ughhhh).
Lacey Silks brings us the first story in the Silver Brothers Securities Book series with James and Laura. Sparks are flying around security guard Laura and owner and single father James Silver when they are trapped at the family lodge by the snow. Add in his precious daughter and his entire family already welcoming her, Laura feels like this could be it. As they get closer together, the unexpected happens and turns their romance upside down. Will they be able to weather the storms or will it all be too much? The answers lie in the next installment of the series so it will have to wait for now.
Lacey Silks brings us the story of love, family, and obligations. What should you do when what you want to do and what you should do conflict with each other? She brings us the story of Laura and James, but their story is not finished. I look forward to seeing what happens with these two characters and how or if they will resolve the obstacles that have been thrown their way in this prequel. Follow them on their journey as they discover each other and what is important to them.
I received and read an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and ideas are my own. I would like to thank Lacey Silks for this privilege.
Silver Santa By Lacey Silks Main Characters: Laura and James I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author. 5 out of 5 stars Silver Santa is the first book in the Silver Brothers Securities Family Saga and a prequel to Silver Fox. Contains a cliffhanger. It is a prequel and I loved it! James is a single father of a lovely daughter and when he meets Laura you can just feel the chemistry between the two of them. Laura might be at the Silver Christmas gathering dressed as a nutcracker while watching for threats to the family. Then a monkey wrench gets thrown into the mix. What will happen next? You need to read this story and I want to read the whole series.
To earn some extra money Laura Young and her best friend are working as security guards at the Silver Lodge during Christmas. When she meets James Silver, the head of Silver Brothers Securities, they quickly let their mutual attraction lead them into some steamy encounters. Unfortunately, bad weather and his precocious five-year-old make it difficult to explore their fledging relationship. An unexpected arrival will cause Laura to reconsider their connection and walk away from James. Wonderfully well written, and familiar characters giving a glimpse into their past, and answering some questions about their relationship and how it evolved. Fantastic book and series that I recommend to anyone.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The writing was amateurish and the story unbelievable. In less than twenty-four hours James and Laura are in love. She rescues a boy skiing who couldn't stop. He shouldn't have been there if he didn't know how to stop. She declares that James is an excellent father after knowing him about 24 hours and only seeing him with his daughter briefly. I understand that novels are fiction, but this was more like the writings of a teen without real world knowledge. The use of f-words was unnecessary. Laura was all too eager to have sex with James and blatantly tells him how easy it is to "get in my pants".
I hate cliffhangers. To me they're a cheap trick authors pull to make readers buy more books. Shame on Ms. Silks.
I loved Silver Santa, but some of it was a repeat of things I already read in previous books. I wish I could have read this book first. If you have read the Silver Brothers Securities you will know parts of the story. Silver Santa gives all the details about Laura and James beginning. I found it fun and steamy. I did question some things that Laura and James did, I will not go into do I don't reveal any spoilers. Overall I enjoyed and recommend reading Silver Santa first. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader's copy.
This is a brilliant read. Laura is working for the Silver family at Christmas but as soon as she meets James they click. Their chemistry is off the charts. He's a single father and he will do anything for his daughter but he has separated from his wife. They are perfect together but what happens when his estranged wife makes an appearance. Can't wait for the follow up book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Laura is working security at the Silver family’s lodge for Christmas where she meets James Silver, a very handsome single father. The sparks fly from there!
I didn’t care for the story overall, but it’s definitely spicy! So if you’re here for the smut, this book is for you! However the overall story line was lacking for me. I could see how people would read the next book though, because it ended on a cliff hanger!
If you are looking for a book that has spice and pretty much nothing else then you might like this. I felt like the story line was too rushed and lacked depth and emotional connection. It felt boring and I personally didn't even enjoy the spice because I felt no connection whatsoever to the characters. I do have the next book in the series but I doubt I will read it even though this one does end on a cliffhanger. I honestly don't care to know what happened.
James "Fox" Silver gets more than he bargained for when he becomes interested in a young employee at his family's resort and decides to have a Christmas fling in this warm, fun, spicy Christmas celebration. Prequel to the Fox and Laura storyline in the Silver Brothers Securities series, this one's a fun, quick read, ideal for a cold November afternoon or a Christmas holiday break.
I enjoyed this Christmas story focusing on James and Laura. Laura is security for the Silvers during their Christmas getaway. Her and James hit it off right away. The chemistry between them was off the charts. Everything goes amazing until the end when Tiffany shows up. But to make matters worse is the secret Laura has, which is causing me to continue the next part of the story.
What a way to start the holiday reading season lol. The start of a new series, the first book in the Silver Brothers Securities Family Saga, and it’s a silver fox 😏, single dad, snowed in vibe, with lots of family, lots of chemistry and lots of love all around, them & me. Can’t wait for more!
Silver Securities book 1. This lively story tells how Fox aka James and Laura met. It's the beginning of a crazy WTF is going on scenario. It's also very angsty and oh so tingle worthy. Christmas read with family, funny times and lots of smexiness.
3 stars - not very believable. Totally weird how Laura and James meet and she is so trusting of him. Spicy scenes lots of characters hard to remember all of them and how they are connected
Only took me 2 days to read this suspenseful book. Although I have to admit, I didn't like how it ended. Maybe reading Silver Fox will change my mind. Unless I have to pay for it to read, then I'll never know
How could a book end at the final climax? I’d give it 5 stars if it was an entire book. Of course, this is the author's way of making you get the second book in the series.
I liked the idea behind the story but I really struggled with the writing and by 20% I was getting more confused and frustrated so had to DNF. And now seeing from other reviews it ends on a cliffhanger I’m glad I didn’t continue.
Quick and spicy holiday romance. Introduces the members of the Silver family and Laura. Characters are fun and loveable. The little brother Julian was a hoot. I wished for a happier ending, but can't wait to read the series.
Good beginning, introduction or part 1 of Laura and Fox, aka James, short relationship during Christmas. Loved most of the story, but the ending sucked. Then I found out this was a prequel, so I'm excited to read the part 2 of their story. 😁🔥🔥
